Iceman, was this done in DCS?
You're missing a very historic photograph of the F-15 Eagle launching the first anti-satellite weapon there are a couple of them. I actually have one of the original photographs from the September 1985 satellite launch where we knocked down an old weather satellite I was there when we launched it from Edwards Air Force Base. I worked for LTV they built it. Everybody went wild because it was a successful hit. The SR-71 was at Edwards Air Force Base in 1987 I got a peek at it from a distance😂
😮
@@IvanKapor yes
Ok
I'm proud to say my father was a welder at Lockheed in the late 1950's into the mid 1960's.
I'm 65 now and I remember how excited he was to be working on The SR71. We lived in Manhattan Beach when I was born but he continued working there after we moved to Chula Vista, California.
He'd come home on the weekends. RIP Dad! ( Lucio R. Blanco ) 😇😎😇
That is outstanding, thank you for sharing.
That is very cool
@@iceman_fox1 thank you Ice Man 😎
@@blk_miss1le963 😎
@@iceman_fox1 love your posts man. Keep them coming!
SR-71 has got to be my favorite of all time!
Likewise & that's been at least for the last 40 years!
The most beautiful machine ever created by man
Mine too😊😊😊
Can't argue with that! It takes BAD-ASS to a whole new level!!! What a machine!!!
Would watch them take off and land at Kadena afb Okinawa in 68. Everyone would stop what they were doing to watch. Beyond description. From the moment I first saw one I was in love. Still am
No matter how old that thing is, it looks futuristic AF
That's not aSR71. It's an old school 4 engine commercial liner😮😮
Prolly why they used it in star wars so badass
@oiudatropen9548 oh your a wise guy eh 😮😅😅😅
Lol in today's world you can go around saying it was made by aliens and people would probably believe it.
It's not supposed to be something for the 1950s. Maybe 4057.
I mean the body is..... It's sooo thin and the massive engine's had to be put in with the Wing. Imagine all that work trying to come up with that idea 💡..... Really shows what America can do....if everyone works together and not fool around.
America was the icon of change of the wars. So it's sad that this beast was too expensive and forced retirement
Das DING ist der Hammer , und sei es noch so alt😂
My Father is an honorary member of the SR-71 Blackbird Hall of Fame for his engineering support way back when - He was good friends with several of the pilots - The induction ceremony was awesome... \m/
Wow that's so awesome Mr! My dad was WW2. He was a sharp shooter and morter man went to Battle of the Bulge 1944 Xmas eve. Survived a torpedo on his transport ship saw 850 men perish. The Gov hushed it for 50 years. God bless our awesome Dads.
God Bless you Father and Family!?..
That’s awesome
I thank him for his service
@@Blustone60,
My God bless You, your Father and Family, now and forever
The SR71 climbs like an home sick Angel
lowkey... gonna steal that
That's a whole bar right there. 🔥
Still one of the most beautiful aircraft silhouettes ever created. It's poetry in motion.
Along with Concord.
You can visibly notice the stratosphere racing towards the aircraft.
Edit : I can’t get enough of your SR-71 clips.
Black bird and warthog are my two all-time favorites. Made for a specific jobs but far excelled expectations... even if the guys who built them. It's still hard for me to wrap my brain around the fact that the black bird was built with a slide rule.
One plane is good, the other one likes shooting friendlies and struggles to remain in the air. Vastly different indeed
I add the F14 Tomcat and YF23 to that as well
And the B-52
I lot of the pilot pick came from the A10 world and the RSO came from B52 or F111
my two favorites as well!
Still the coolest jet ever made
40 years ahead of its time ,, nothing could touch it
@@keithbell6104 TSR2 Could be we were told to scrap it for this. UK know jets.
That you know of🤨
it looks like Darth Vader
And with a slide rule.
I grew up in Palmdale Ca. working at plant 42 on various projects (B-1 A, B-1 B, Space Shuttle etc.) The Black Bird maintenance depot was right next to us at site 2. They flew in and out constantly, and my friend’s father was a pilot for them. There was always at least 4 or 5 there getting worked on, and they moved them around constantly to confuse enemy satellites as to the actual quantity. As a teenager my co-workers and I would always run out to the flight line to watch take offs and landings. And the coolest thing ever was sitting at the end of the runway one time with the MP’s & and having the black bird take off with everything it had and as low as possible. I thought I was going to die! Crouched down with my fingers in my ears and was blasted with dirt. Pilots girlfriend was with us and he was trying to impress her with his most impressive take off. Crazy, but excellent memories!!
Wow just listened to the engines nothing but pure power.
You should hear one irl in test cell. Standing 20' away. It gets so hot you can see the shadows of parts inside it.
the greatest thing ever created in the usa
maybe
and holy moly that thing goes fast
This looks like a computer simulation
These flight simulators sure have improved alot, damm near looks real!!
Baddest bird ever built !
For those who did not know… Superman was filming this footage 😂
How about a tail mounted camera
Superman wishes he could go this fast
@@mikemitchell8329 Not tail mounted, its over the right engine. I'm pretty sure this channel is known for simulation shorts and videos. These SR-71's are no longer in service and they certainly aren't used for promotional videos.🤔🙂
@@jrwill58 I would agree, but as far as the public knows ,they are out of service, you never know what area 51 has that only fly at night , remember the F117, and theB2
@mikemitchell8329 and videotaping it and posting to RUclips for all the world to see? Obviously it's a simulated video.
Slight frost appears on the camera lens. Nice touch, it's the small details that count.
The only problem with that is it heats up as it accelerated. It actually leaks fuel until it's going fast enough for the body panels to heat up and expand, sealing itself.
Fun fact: the pilot is actually wearing an astronaut suit snd helmet. Breathes a special mix of air with a mixture of oxygen and nitrogen. Percentages of breathing air that are best with extreme altitudes.
Our atmosphere is 78% nitrogen 20.9% Oxygen 2% water vapor.. 1% the rest argon, ozone etc. So, that makes sense adding in nitorgen.
Thank you Lockheed Skunk Works!!! Long live Ben Rich!!!
Kelly Johnson... and Mr. Rich
PS Ben-jamin Rich died in California back in 95... he was only 70.
The SR71/A12 was Kelly's final work of art, Ben came in and his real contributions were stealth (based on a Russian math paper that they failed to see the value of) and fly-by-wire to make those designs flyable by computer assist, in the F117A Nighthawk. Ben also managed the transition to mega budgets... Kelly was a shoestring "seat of the pants" genius at getting exotic planes done cheap.
Joe Bidumbbell, was one of the original
pilots for this aircraft. Corn Pop, was his back seater !
“I used to fly Blackbirds when I was in the Swabbies Jack and Cornpop was in the back, that was a fact and if you don’t believe it then you ain’t black.”
And Corn pop was a bad dude! Lmfao
🤣
Until the day it all went black. That's the fateful day when the cannibals descended upon all of them.
SR71 the legend, dude thank you for making this channel. I love your videos! ❤
Damn! That is so impressive!
Also, anyone noticed the sudden change of temperature outside?
That cameramen doing hard work for everyone to see.
Cameraman never dies!
I wish this was longer
The mighty SR 71 Best plane ever built
Speed is insane on this plane!!! 😱😱
3540 km h is record
Awesome aircraft
Watched this take off and land for over 3 years while living overseas. Had a very good friend who was a titanium welder on this plane as well The noise, the smell of the fuel and the beauty of this bird will remain embedded in my brain forever!
Proof that the camera man is immortal
I bet the SR crews would have loved a camera view like that one!
I wish there was a speedometer 😂 Seriously, I’m loving all the SR-71 footage!

So somebody strapped a Go-Pro to the Blackbird that last flew in 99? Awesome.
Good morning Iceman. Keep em coming buddy. Love the SR71. Have a great day my friend 😊
You gotta love the Air Force 🙌🏿🙌🏿👨🏽✈️🧑🏾🚀
Can't get enough of this beautiful creature. Built in the 60's, before any advanced technology. Like they say, engineering back in the day was usually drawn up on a beer napkin in a local pub, just calculators and compasses. Kelly Johnson was a aeronautical genius!!
These videos games are great! It’s like “unseen” footage keeps getting released. For decades it was the same stuff over and over but now we get new shit! Love it!!!
This is the dopest plane ever made amazing
Damn, these videos game clips almost look real. Gotta love DCS. 😊👍
Love that sound of POWER!!
Two thumbs up to the man getting the video shot for that climb.
When I was a child I was into this stuff, I had posters of warplanes on my bedroom wall, I dressed up like a soldier or a cop & ran around with toy guns, now I'm an adult who's learned the difference between war & peace
Same here man, in my 30s now and have developed nothing but contempt for the military industrial complex. I'm still fascinated by technological feats such as this one and try to separate man from machine so as to enjoy the complex marvel that is something like the SR-71.
Wow nice video brother ✌️
I have seen and touched one of these black angels. It was a humbling experience.
That was one helluva plane, i absolutely love seeing them in action.
Still is one hell of an aircraft
All these years later and it's still my favorite. This is why.
So sweet
The best Bird ever made!!!!
Incredible footage 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
An absolutely amazing piece of mid-twentieth century engineering still relevant today!
Awesome video!
That plane is what dreams are made of 😜😎
Seeing one in person is just jaw dropping😊
awesome awesome ty America world power lets go
Amazing! I have always been a big fan of SR-71 BB. First time to see it this close and that too when it is approaching its peak performance. Very precious shot. Hats off to everyone that developed this impressive feat of engineering decades ago. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥✅✅✅
Maverick up to his antics again!
Nah! I don't think that the Air Force would allow Mav to fly the Blackbird given his history.
That is one beautiful jet!! The graphics looks so real on this video!
Id be shitting bricks props to anyone who flys planes at these altitudes
The pilots wore what were basically space suits because of the temp swings and lack of oxygen at those altitudes.
I love that you put a 135 in the video. Can’t forget about tankers. I work on those puppies. NKAWTG. Badass video! Love your work! SR71 will always be my favorite jet!
i like SR-71 Good
I guarded one for a night back in 87. Smaller than I thought it would be and the dripping fluids into pans for a few hours was strangely unnerving
Wow they had gopros back then??
Greatest Plane Ever built. Period. Way ahead of its time. SR-71 was incredible!!!!
Wow video games have come a long way since the Atari.
That is incredible!!! Did I see the windshield freeze???
That must be the one expensive plane to maintain and operate because my God that is the only reason there could be for retiring the most badass bird ever built.
It's an Awesome Bird!!! 🇺🇸 💪
I love this beautiful plane
Dang… those GoPro mounts are really getting advanced !

So much love for this scene. This is what America 🇺🇸 is.
Gives me goosebumps
I wanna knew what GoPro they used. Need one for my moto
Be sure to use the 3-suction cup mount 'cause the single comes loose at mach 2.8.
I LOVE THIS! Well done!!!!!!
This gives me a fat chub. I am so glad to see this video!
Coolest, most beautiful hotrod ever built...
Love these vids, thank you!
