You're missing a very historic photograph of the F-15 Eagle launching the first anti-satellite weapon there are a couple of them. I actually have one of the original photographs from the September 1985 satellite launch where we knocked down an old weather satellite I was there when we launched it from Edwards Air Force Base. I worked for LTV they built it. Everybody went wild because it was a successful hit. The SR-71 was at Edwards Air Force Base in 1987 I got a peek at it from a distance😂

I'm proud to say my father was a welder at Lockheed in the late 1950's into the mid 1960's.
I'm 65 now and I remember how excited he was to be working on The SR71. We lived in Manhattan Beach when I was born but he continued working there after we moved to Chula Vista, California.
He'd come home on the weekends. RIP Dad! ( Lucio R. Blanco ) 😇😎😇

Lol in today's world you can go around saying it was made by aliens and people would probably believe it.
It's not supposed to be something for the 1950s. Maybe 4057.
I mean the body is..... It's sooo thin and the massive engine's had to be put in with the Wing. Imagine all that work trying to come up with that idea 💡..... Really shows what America can do....if everyone works together and not fool around.
America was the icon of change of the wars. So it's sad that this beast was too expensive and forced retirement

I grew up in Palmdale Ca. working at plant 42 on various projects (B-1 A, B-1 B, Space Shuttle etc.) The Black Bird maintenance depot was right next to us at site 2. They flew in and out constantly, and my friend’s father was a pilot for them. There was always at least 4 or 5 there getting worked on, and they moved them around constantly to confuse enemy satellites as to the actual quantity. As a teenager my co-workers and I would always run out to the flight line to watch take offs and landings. And the coolest thing ever was sitting at the end of the runway one time with the MP’s & and having the black bird take off with everything it had and as low as possible. I thought I was going to die! Crouched down with my fingers in my ears and was blasted with dirt. Pilots girlfriend was with us and he was trying to impress her with his most impressive take off. Crazy, but excellent memories!!

Ben also managed the transition to mega budgets... Kelly was a shoestring "seat of the pants" genius at getting exotic planes done cheap.
