I don't know how to explain it, but they give me this deep ache in my chest every time I watch them together or hear them sing. They bleed love. Their voices meld together like two people making love and it gives me the warmest, fuzziest feeling inside. It's like falling in love all over again. Butterflies and everything. Ship so hard. I don't know how they COULDN'T be in love - I'm in love with the both of them, and I'm a third party. Good grief.
they are both married, but they were married before they met each other, and with all they went through making and playing this amazing music, I honestly believe they fell in love, which is probably why they decided to call it quits after such a successful album. I dont see any other reason why they would stop.
In a duo format, the pressure to get along can overwhelm. They came together by pure happenstance and seem to have nothing in common aside from the fact that their voices blend so astoundingly. They were stunned by it in the first meeting. It's why they were compelled to do this. I'd give anything if they could have maintained the friendship, but, sometimes even the best vocal matches have an all too short shelf life. Ask the Everly Brothers. Maybe we'll luck out and they'll manage to reconcile.
This is the saddest case of June Carter and Johnny Cash syndrome I have ever seen. It breaks my heart that they split, but maybe they will get back together.
Inspirational on so many levels (and I am 73!). So many performers in different fields could learn so much from this. The music isn't bad either! They look as though they are enjoying being together. If this is the viewers first experience of The Civil Wars - check them out. You will not be disappointed. Bert Bretherton
A very special friend of mine introduced me to them about a year ago. He knew I would instantly fall in love with them. He and I are very musically alike. I wish I could say he was still with me, but he is not, so I have them to keep him in my heart. SO Bryan RIchard Akers if you ever read this, I love ya, and miss you terribly. BUT THANK YOU for you introducing me to them. They are so unique, I listen to them all the time. Such talent and such harmonizing and grace in their voice. LOVE THEM>
I remember playing some of Joy's albums while she was singing Christian music as well as hearing some work that John Paul did prior to the Civil Wars. I think it's great how they can look back on their previous work of ups and downs with gratitude that had it not been for those rocky moments they wouldn't have ever grown musically. It's a mature quality to have and encourage the film students to feel the same about their careers and how they shouldn't doubt when they begin their work of film.
"Be kind for everyone you know is fighting a greater battle" not sure if everyone even knows who Plato or arostatle is sorry for miss spell but this is one of the greatest quotes coined wish more people lived by this. And as for these they are just amazing funny the chemistry they have if a person didn't do their research you would think these two where married to each other. They sure have an amazing connection and are wonderful singers they are wonderful
What an incredible thing to do, I love them even more. Do you know how awesome this was? Lucky class but Civil Wars are world class...if only they would come back. Great life advise. 👌
Smiling, giggling and always laughing. I can't think of anything hotter, someone is a lucky man! Shes fun to watch and they are obviously a TRUE talent.
Wow I just want to say what an inspirational school I find this to be and how I wish I spent four years in it. From exposing the students to indie and folk bands to the Plato quote on the wall. My high school experience was a completely average one, void of any inspiration not found within the great and holy bible. Sure we had inspirational quotes, like Matthew 3:16-18 or some sht. Yeah we had motivational speakers, they were priests and we had to listen every friday morning.
Her "right of out of a dream" line gives me chills every time! Well I mean the whole song does but that one moment invokes stronger feelings of excitement! Great music!
Being tortured by so many half-assed presenter for so many years. Is a great addition to my already accumulative sense of paranoia. Well done you, like I needed that.
Its just the luck of the draw to fall in love with them and then they quit. Oh Well if I survived The Beatles, CSNY I suppose I will survive this too. How lucky are we that we can still listen to this love.
Hello gg010170 my angel how are you . unfortunately I can stay only a short time on the internet , then my channel is braked . and I have to restart the computer . this is a sabotages action from youtube Germany
My high school sucked, but wow what an awesome idea for you guys to do this! Also, the artwork is great. Their music is beautiful. These elements combined make this a kick A video.
@kalli199 No sir. But wouldn't that be amazing though? He and Jack are two of my favorite musicians! I love them they have amazing talent and so does Joy!
They're not improvising a thing in this one... They know these songs backwards and forwards and are so comfortable with the music and each other that they can make it seem effortless. Watch enough of their performances (and see them live) and you'll be able to tell the difference. Improvisation is when the capo fell off of his guitar when they were performing at Eddie's Attic and they effortlessly picked up right where they left off.
not sure why you couldnt find them perhaps search by their album title Barton Hollow? Or you can download a free live album from their website its excellent!
I've actually heard that the 'new' album is all made of old songs that didn't quite make it into the first album. What I heard is that it is just a stunt by the record company to make it look like they haven't broken up... but then again, I heard... might not be true. I definitely hope they are truly coming back.
Idk what happened between them personally but as a long time listener I noticed as time went on his voice was over shadowed more and more to where he seemed like he was a backup for her vocals. Obviously that's not how they started. I would be bitter too if I went from an equal to basically backup.
Calm down, there's a new album on the way, and I have a feeling they'll get right back to work, it was a hiatus, Joy had a kid and they needed time. No need to fret.

Just watch how she looks at him, so beautiful.
This is the saddest case of June Carter and Johnny Cash syndrome I have ever seen. It breaks my heart that they split, but maybe they will get back together.
thetychobrahe You are right...i hope you are right.
Their harmonies bring tears to my eyes. I love these two so much.
All the beautiful songs they could have made if they didn't split up :(
I respect their decision but i really do miss them together :(

their harmonies are brilliant, what a pair

Those smiles are contagious :)
I love the passion that they sing with. I'm sure they have proformed this song a million times but you can stilll see the spark and the joy.

Lucky kids! Bet you didn't realize they would win a grammy!

Johnny Depp + Jack White = John Paul White

YOU GOT THE TO COME TO YOUR SCHOOL?!?!!
GOSH I WISH THEY WERE STILL TOGETHER
How can you not like these people?
Smiling, giggling and always laughing. I can't think of anything hotter, someone is a lucky man! Shes fun to watch and they are obviously a TRUE talent.
I was not imagining his speaking voice to be that deep, from the high notes he hits.

Being tortured by so many half-assed presenter for so many years. Is a great addition to my already accumulative sense of paranoia. Well done you, like I needed that.

They deserve a standing ovation
Its just the luck of the draw to fall in love with them and then they quit. Oh Well if I survived The Beatles, CSNY I suppose I will survive this too. How lucky are we that we can still listen to this love.

I've actually heard that the 'new' album is all made of old songs that didn't quite make it into the first album. @KelsieRichardson is he related to Jack White?
Idk what happened between them personally but as a long time listener I noticed as time went on his voice was over shadowed more and more to where he seemed like he was a backup for her vocals. Obviously that's not how they started. I would be bitter too if I went from an equal to basically backup.
When I look at these 2...I just see musical notes dancing...
