Very nice, I'm doing a similar build on a 500 at the moment. You should look into the AKT magnetic oil filters. They're expensive, but you'll never need to replace or carry another oil filter again. 👍
but not all the dirt in the oil is magnetic. my understanding is that this filter can catch only magnetic particles. or is there some stainless mesh for example that helps with non-magnetic dirt? can't really tell from the picture at their site
Your 350 build is nearly identical to my 500 build and for the same reason. TAT (again) and the BDRs. Mount your Taco turn signals above the lower triple, trust me.
Great setup........I'm looking to do something very similar and it would be appreciated if you could provide name or brand of rear top rack you are using?
Looks like you moved the location of your ignition key too. What was the reasoning for that? Was it because the hand guards would interfere with where it was in the original location?
I just found your channel, i found this really interesting as my son has the same bike, i'm going to forward this video to him lol i just purchased a 701 as i do not want to pick up my pan am at all lol.....how many gallons of gas does that tank hold? oh and subbed, its crappy here in Ohio today so i'll be binging this trip lol
I did not lower the bike and I did not change out the suspension. All I did was set the sag for the loaded out weight. Rear tire: Dunlop D606 120/90-18 Front tire: Pirelli MT21 90/90-21 Loved the combination.
@@WheeledGeezer thank you for responding so quickly. Excuse me, but my English is not very good. I am planning to travel with my 350, but I would like to change the sprocket ratio, which is 13:52, to one that will allow me to travel better, such as 15:45. I would like to know if you changed this ratio.
The tank is the 4.5 gallon from IMS. The radiator guards are bullet proof designs. The bracket provided by IMS lines up perfectly for the guards. I just had to add some spacers. I was concerned the tank may to too wide but it does not interfere at all and I believe I prefer it for standing and riding - easier to grip the bike with my knees.
My choice of the 350 was spurred by a comment I received from a bike shop when talking about the 350 and 500. “The 350 is more nimble in the woods but on the road others riding with you will pull away”. I wanted a very flickable bike in the trails and I don’t care about highway speed. Five days into the ride I am very happy with it. Excellent in the trails and can run the speeds I need on asphalt.
@@WheeledGeezer I used that exact combo during my “western loop TAT” ride in 2022. They performed fantastic and not a single flat. Also would you believe we never once got rained on the entire 1600 miles on the trail !
WOW! The amount of high quality planning and execution that’s gone into this build is mega impressive. What a trip you guys are gonna have 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Thank you. The build could not have happened without the professional advice and excellent product we obtained from Tacomoto. Thanks for all the help.
I’ve heard tacomoto is good
@@jamesbramblett3346 Tacomoto is fantastic. Great products and even better advice. They are super helpful.
Lookin very well prepared! Have a great trip!
Awesome setup for exc! I'm taking notes)
Beautiful beast. Even the pro motocross racers wish they could race a 350 over a 450. Plus I love the comfort of the KTM frames.
Great Job!

Thanks for the tip.
Great job 👍
Any reason for not puttning one fuel blatter on each side of the bike but much lower down to lower the centered weight?
Other then that, great setup
Are you referring to why I used a larger tank on the KTM instead of dual fuel bladders?
Great setup........I'm looking to do something very similar and it would be appreciated if you could provide name or brand of rear top rack you are using?
The product is listed in the description as ‘rear rack’. Best wishes on your build.

Looks like you moved the location of your ignition key too. What was the reasoning for that? Was it because the hand guards would interfere with where it was in the original location?
I moved it because of the trail tech mounting location. I find it is very convenient at this modified location.

That bike has a 4.5 gallon IMS tank.
@@WheeledGeezer nice! Thanks!
What Brand and size tires did you go with on the .KTM 350
And did you the lower bike?
I did not lower the bike and I did not change out the suspension. All I did was set the sag for the loaded out weight.
Rear tire: Dunlop D606 120/90-18
Front tire: Pirelli MT21 90/90-21

Incredible that you can carry that luggage. My Honda CRF 450RX Doesnt have a subframe or a rack 😒
What that small white water thingy? Is it for purification of river water etc.?
We carried a water filter but the small white object I showed in this video is a Bidet. We got it here holeyhiker.com
@@WheeledGeezer oh that's what it's for :D got it thx
Hi, could you tell me if you change the originals sprocket for another one that is better for your travel?
I used the stock sprockets for the trip. I do need to replace them now as they are worn but they gave no problems for over 6000 miles.

@@josemariacastillo5624 I did not change the gearing ratio and was quite satisfied with it.
Thank you very much!@@WheeledGeezer
Did you run stock gearing on your KTM350excf?
Yes I did run stock gearing and I liked it.
What are u running for tires?
Dunlop D606 rear
Pirelli MT 21 front
What brand and gallon size is your gas tank? How did you apply the shrouds to it? Looks very good.

I was concerned the tank may to too wide but it does not interfere at all and I believe I prefer it for standing and riding - easier to grip the bike with my knees.
There are screw holes in the tank for attaching the shrouds.
What year is the 350?
My bike is a 2023 KTM EXC-F 350.
Why the 350 over the 500?
My choice of the 350 was spurred by a comment I received from a bike shop when talking about the 350 and 500. “The 350 is more nimble in the woods but on the road others riding with you will pull away”.

oil change every 15 hours and valve adjust every 600 miles!!!!
That’s what they say....
Good prep. Looks like mt21 front and 606 rear👍🏻
Yes. That is exactly right. MT21 front and D606 rear. They performed beautifully. Super happy with them.
