How do you not have a million subs? Between the quality of the projects. the detail of the procedures, and the hilarious commentary, you're way better than most of the other makers on YT. Good job Drew!
Thanks, I appreciate that! A lot of work goes into each video. But I guess to answer your question, I don't release videos fast enough to keep momentum and grow faster. That, or YT hates me. Could be both.
Truly...this is one of the most creative, fun, and relaxing channels I know, plus there's always something to learn. But that's how the world is made, often the best are found among the losers... Greetings from Italy...👋👋 Paul
@@FishersShop I have been doing weekly releases, but only under 80 subs. I guess because you don't put stupid faces on thumbnails and you dont do deal videos every other day. But I like your videos.
As usual Drew a Cracking video from you those two Floating Nightstands look beautiful, i always enjoy watching your videos both what you are making and the funny commentary that you do, oh, and of course the Outtakes which i had to laugh at the one with the CA Glue with the bit of dirt/dust, plus the last one where your wife was standing there and the sheer look of shock on your face, like you had been caught with your Neighbours reading material (shall we say) which you found on his porch, while you were leaving him your other Nightstands, was just a classic. Take Care and Stay Safe. Barry (UK)
Genuinely my favourite woodworking channel! The way you present your builds makes them feel accessible, like anyone could do it, but the sheer quality of your work is that of a true craftsman!
Whenever I will be using brass screws, I ALWAYS use an equivalent steel screw first to establish the threads, then take it out and use the brass one. I have learned this the hard way.
Whenever you pulled the stud finder out, I quietly hoped you would make the obvious joke. I was not disappointed. Thank you. Now that you have these excellent, black walnut floating nightstands, you now also need an excellent, black walnut, fourposter bed frame to go with them.
Drew, once again you have produced not only a great project but continue to entertain with your self deprecating, humorous and humble methods. I just can't believe your neighbor still has any raw materials for you to keep steali..... borrowing from.
Happy to see something that didn't need the CNC or laser. I know there's a lot of "love it or hate it" over those two but mostly I just dislike thier use in projects because I don't have either so I can't replicate anything needing them.
Thanks Drew. These look like maybe even I could make them, probably not! Thanks for the flat head screw. To prove I watched till the end it is nice to know that you share with your neighbor. Thanks for sharing Drew!
Yet another GREAT project Drew. Happy Holidays to, the family AND your neighbor. It ain't easy living next to you. He has no firewood for the winter OR a deck! !! !!!
Well I guess now that you have the nightstands and valet, can we expect a full matching dresser build for the complete set? That outtake with the piece of dust was so funny, I was not expecting that.
You do not do a lot of videos ,but when you I watched them ,you are a real craftsmen in my opinion .I have been woodworking for 30 yrs and still love learning.Julien
You know what I recommend for filling small gaps. Apply some poly where the gaps are and sand with higher grit like 220+ without the vacuum on. The dust bonds to the poly and fills the gaps. Poly won’t stay on the surface. It’s super fast and works great. Don’t be shy with the poly. Make sure it’s worked into the gaps very well.
These nightstands turned out beautiful Drew! It’s always cool to hear you guys talk about stuff on the podcast and then see it come into fruition in the videos!
Always one of my absolute favorite woodworkers with your antics and work. I've learned a lot watching you and I incorporate it in my work...and my channel. I appreciate what you do by bringing laughter to us all. Thank you!
We have very little space to work with on either side of the bed, these would work great. Entertaining video with straightforward explanations, subscribed! 👍🏼
I only subscribe to a few woodworkers on RUclips, and Drew is one of them. Love the content and the step by step instructions. Always excited to see Fisher's Shop drop a new video.
Drew, what a nice project it turned out great. I must say you turn out some nice work and I enjoy your commentary with some comedy sprinkled in. Absolutely one of the best channels
Ah Drew, laugh out loud funny and great design... Not only are the nightstands great but even the tools youve made are too... that finger joint jig was so simple yet so clever. Thanks for the wonderful education and entertainment, much appreciated. 👍🙏👏😄
Stunning nightstands, Drew! Fantastic work!!! 😃 But hey, I'm going to build some hand screw clamps... The hardware just arrived! You should do the same, it would help a lot with small pieces on the router table. 😉 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊 And happy holidays!
I was wondering if the bandaid was going to make the bloopers! Glad it was a tiny cut. Although I've noticed that as soon as you get a cut, EVERYTHING you touch seems to, well, touch the cut.
“Now let me over complicate everything, and make it much harder than it actually is” - Drew and every woodworker ever on every project. 😂 Beautiful work sir, and well worth the overcomplicating lol.
This was an amazing build Drew. You'd probably get a laugh out of my wife's and my night stands. One is a table my dad made for his living room that I inherited when he passed and my wife's is a little table thing that's actually made to be a night stand. But still absolutely hideous. I might get these plans
Drew these nightstands turned out amazing and look absolutely beautiful the grain and sapwood looks amazing keep up the amazing work. Always love your videos and outtakes.
Love the look. That flamed walnut could be a guitar top :P Now with such a clean look, make sure you get some cable management for that mess on the floor. The other stud in the room... lol
The nightstands turned out gorgeous and how nice that they are floating to make vacuuming underneath a breeze! Got a huge laugh from you trying to fill the piece of dust with CA and the duct tape holding the original nightstands together. As if duct tape wasn't funny enough it was PURPLE!!! Seriously, you do beautiful work and are truly a gifted woodworker not to mention you would be a total success as a stand up comic. Thanks for another great video and lots of laughs. Happy holidays to you and your family!
"the other stud in the room" took me a second. My first thought was who built this house with only one stud then, oh, you mean you. Haha, great looking project turned out way better than the ones they replaced😂
I hope you kept the outer edge offcuts. Those have a beautiful character and color. I'm sure you can find something that requires some necessary walnut.
Absolutely stunning grain and great job! I second that! WE ARE THE LUCKY ONES! Please tell us you are making a matching "French Cleat" headboard to go between them next?! HUGE FAN! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!🦃
personally I'm not out there trying to batch parts out for anyone besides me and maybe some family. I just enjoy using the planes for what they are. Hand tools are cool, but so are CNCs :D
Great job, Drew! I always look forward to your videos - just wish they were as frequent as they used to be. Are you dreaming/thinking/planning/hoping to build a headboard next?
Hi Drew, love the channel! One thing I wanted to request that I've seen done elsewhere... If you're able to include a list of the tools you use in your description it would be awesome. I know you do for sponsored tools, but I really mean listing every tool. I'll often see some little square or other small tool and think "that's cool, where do I get one of those?" Would be awesome to have a list included in each video description. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Drew! A couple of good examples of what I mean are Michael Alm and Brad from Fix This Build That. They tend to list everything they used, right down to the earbuds 😊
I'm really sensing a food/wood theme here. No more PB filler; instead wood dust that you can use on your cereal. And, the drawer full of Halloween candy. No wonder your horizons are broadening 😉. Great project, as usual. Love that walnut!
That walnut is gorgeous! Where does your neighbor shop for hardwoods? Seriously, though. That was a cool build. They turned out really nicely. Great job!

Very nice work. If you decide to make 1 video a week, your subs will explode. However, you do things your way and be content.
Great job, Drew, as usual. Your neighbor sure is lucky.

Soooo lucky
We are the lucky ones!
Nice. Love the finish. I was anxious that the neighbor wasn't going to make the cut on this one...LOL

Haha thanks Barry!
It's quite refreshing to see nightstand design that does not have hidden compartment for firearm.
I recommend having tissues on hand when clamping the snot out of something.
Good call! 😂

Haha thanks
Your videos are so educational & entertaining. Plus, I love all the unnecessary walnut you use in your projects...
Thank you very much!

I really like the look of roundovers on finger joints. I've done it with plywood, too, and that's a pretty cool look for some uses.
Yeah, I like it too
Sweet project, clear funny voiceover, another classic Fisher offering.
Thank you kindly!
stud finder jokes .... love it !

The Holidays are here! Another Fisher’s Shop! Thank you!
Enjoy!
You're soo right, finger joints and roundovers are dope!
Yeah, I dig the look
Very nice! Thanks for the humor as well as the advice on building these night stands. I hope to build at least two of them in the next month.
Have fun!

I love the idea of a floating nightstand. Especially when it's full of candy! :)
Right?!
I think you should build a matching headboard. That would be awesome.

Beautiful pieces. Even though I’ll never sleep in that bed, I’ll speak for Mrs. Fisher… make her a matching head board.
In process of doing that right now

It was my son's Halloween collection. Not so many M&Ms because I've already collected and consumed the "Dad tax"
