This month marks the 21st anniversary of Square Enix’s release of Final Fantasy IX!
Not only is this my favorite Final Fantasy, but my favorite video game of all time!
I remember being ten years old and popping each of the four discs into the PlayStation and watching as the colorful world of Gaia came to life.
Everything about this game is truly magical - the characters, story, gameplay, and of course, the music! To say that Nobuo Uematsu was influential to me as a musician is an understatement. I hope you enjoy my cover of the game’s theme, “Melodies of Life,” as much as I have these last 21 years.

Brilliantly done! FF IX is such a wonderful (and often underrated game!), and the soundtrack is so vibrant and amazingly composed :)
Thank you! I completely agree with you about it being an underrated game. I have noticed it's popularity picking up lately with the new generation of gamers. Hopefully it gets more of the appreciation it so deserves! Also, I loved this OST so much that I saved all of my birthday money one year to buy the deluxe edition.

Very beautiful :) I was also ten years old when I got this! So many good memories.... There seems to be a lot of attention for FFXIV the past few months/years. All we can hope for is a remake on the same quality level as FFVII remake.
