Slick is the greatest professional wrestling personality of all time and I just found out today at 44 years old, that we share the same birthday! God bless the Reverend! My father is a Pastor.
Thank you for having The Slickster on this week. He and Bobby the Brain were my favorite managers back in the day. Akeem and Slick doing the Jive Soul Bro dance on the way to and in the ring was the coolest thing.
It was an honor to hear the wonderful stories from the one and only JIVE SOUL BRO!!! Wow.... I was a kiddo when Mom took me to the Cow Palace to watch "WWF" and she was interacting with Slick as he was behind the curtains and made him laugh with her antics! LOL!! Great memories, he was such a smooth talker and loved his promo during the original "Slammies" when The Russians fell on stage! Ha! Great stuff... A Toast... To the legendary SLICKSTER!!!! =0)
Thank you for having Reverend on (aka Slick). Grew up watching his dad Rufus in the Mid Atlantic territory which was Jim Crockett Promotion (NWA). Slick was fun to watch in the WWF.
Only courtesy of this interview did I learn that Reverend Slick was the progeny of the great Rufus R. Jones. I preferred the southern style of Rufus and company much more than the WWF Saturday morning cartoons. But Slick was a bright spot on those shows.
The Doctor of Style Slick!! He is so talented and inspirational. He knew how to be a manager and to make people hate and jeer him. In a business where selfishness seems to be the norm, he seemed to be a rare exception. I wish you many more years of happiness and health!
Slick And Teddy Long are the Best Black Mangers in the history of Pro Wrestling. Jive Soul Bro is the one of the Songs with The Demoultion theme song are the greatest song from the Piledriver album
Love the dr. of style he was the man would have been cool if Reverend Slick would have managed high-energy about time slick became a face the WWF with slowly goin away from managers he became a face in late 92 through '93
