Chris: Nice overview of VOIP paging with Cyberdata's products!
The retail chain I work for integrated VOIP paging into their legacy analog public address system two years ago. The head of IT, plus his technician, went from store to store, meeting there with an external wiring contractor who did the actual wiring on the green terminal strip on the VOIP interface box similar to Cyber's.
When they got done, I noticed, as I was attending to my retail tasks, a loud electrical hum(60Hz). I made note of it to the IT director and the wiring guy, but the IT director told him in so many words "don't worry about what he said" "he doesn't know what he's talking about.
Their solution, later on, was simply to turn down the EQ on the existing paging amp, especially the bass, so the hum was less noticeable, but the music, and people's voices paging, sounded muffled and like it came out of a telephone hand-piece
I told them that they might have a couple wires crossed, but they didn't even respond to me. Was I, am I, still on to something?

We use the relay feature to activate a tone generator to generate fire/tornado alerts. "Sensor" is simply a switch that detects if the connections are shorted together or not. We always dump the Cyberdata extension into a FreePBX Paging and Intercom group so we can also use the intercom feature in our IP phones as well. The phones alert people in the office while the overhead speakers work for the warehouse.
These are a nice bit of kit but very pricey. I wish I could find a cheaper unit!

Something tells me you'd like some of the Barix products. Used a handful of them to replace STL links for broadcast stations, haven't yet gotten into the paging/intercom options on the devices yet though.
Use relay paging a lot with (fire) station alerting systems. Essentially audio for the page, lights and alarms generally via relays.

Chris to use the audio files, in the press 1 - 9 functions, in the MISC settings uncheck the Auto-Answer incoming calls. Then when you call the extension you'll be prompted with an IVR.

Relay can trigger a locked door. Sense input can be a magnetic or prox or what ever and when triggered it will play a per-recorded message and them make a call to a number to let some one also hear the message and will be live on the speaker as well.

Chris the sensor would be used to call a ring group you had previously mentioned. you would as setup a simple button that closes the circuit on the sensor terminals.

Interesting. So, it would then function like the call button on the keypad entry devices? I'm going to have to get one of their buttons and try that out.

A simple door bell button might work

Some amplifiers will have an option to short out contacts to cut music, As soon that would be a good use for the relay. That way music would quit announcement would go through, and music will start back up.

How would you connect this to a Legacy PA System I don't see a Mic out or Line out?

Be sure to connect your speaker wire positive to connection 12 and negative to connection 9 on the Paging Amplifier. Be sure to Read The Full Manual prior to install.

    Hi,
I am looking for a kind paging system that could broadcast a message via internet, possibly be integrated with mobile application through API integration. So instead of using a paging microphone we could use mobile cellphone as an option. We can develop our own app to support this if you have such system functionality.
The use case scenario is that there are several office branch in different locations with one central HQ where someone can broadcast a message just like a normal paging system.

I have absolutely no experience with this device or devices like it so be gentle, in the illustration you provided in the video did I understand it correctly that the speaker cable has a 25' limit? That does not seem very long to me for some larger manufacturing plants that would use something like this? Am I missing something or maybe not understanding it? Thanks in advance.

I don't think there's anything special about the cable - it's just audio wire, so I'm sure it can be extended. I haven't tried that personally though.
