Avira est une société allemande spécialisée dans la sécurité informatique, fondée par Tjark Auerbach. Son principal produit est Avira Antivirus, une suite de protection informatique, mais elle propose également divers logiciels de sécurité (Wikipédia).
La société Avira propose depuis toujours son produit phare en plusieurs éditions : la version gratuite Avira Free, la version Pro Avira Pro et la version Avira Prime.
L'installation d'Avira Pro se fait très facilement.
Point à souligner, Avira installe pas mal d'utilitaires qui, à mon goût, ne servent pas à grand-chose comme Avira SpeedUp Utility, etc.
L'interface d'Avira est sobre et très simpliste, les paramètres de protection d'Avira sont très limités comparés aux versions précédentes où on était habitué à des réglages plus poussés.
Sur les liens malveillants, Avira Pro est extrêmement efficace : tout est bloqué.
Sur les fichiers PDF malveillants, sur le pack de malwares, un est supprimé au scan, mais pour l'autre, visiblement rien ne se passe.
Sur les anciens packs de malwares, Avira est également très efficace et nettoie quasiment entièrement le pack.
Sur le pack de malwares 0day, Avira Pro fait un carnage et supprime la totalité du pack.
Nous pouvons noter qu'un fichier malveillant passe tout de même, mais la requête Web est bloquée par la protection Web d'Avira. Également, nous avons le navigateur Yandex Browser, qui n'est pas malveillant, mais s'installe via un repack malveillant.
Performance : Avira Pro a fait de gros efforts sur la consommation de RAM et de CPU par rapport aux versions précédentes. Par contre, point négatif, le scan est très lent et la suppression des fichiers malveillants également. Je pense que nous avons toujours le fameux module Luke Filewalker qui permet de désinfecter et de réparer potentiellement les dégâts causés par le fichier malveillant.
Verdict et conclusion : Avira Pro est recommandable sans problème même si l'analyse est très lente. La base de données virales et heuristiques n'est plus à prouver aujourd'hui. La protection Cloud également, grâce à l'I.A et au Machine Learning. Nous pouvons féliciter la société Avira pour ces gros efforts en termes de performance, de protection ainsi que d'optimisation de la consommation en RAM et CPU de l'antivirus.

For the 0day malware pack, Avira Pro does a great job and removes the entire pack.
We can note that one malicious file still gets through, but the web request is blocked by Avira's web protection. Also, we have the Yandex Browser, which is not malicious but installs via a malicious repack.
Performance: Avira Pro has made significant efforts in RAM and CPU consumption compared to previous versions. However, a negative point is that the scan is very slow and the removal of malicious files as well. I believe we still have the famous Luke Filewalker module which allows disinfecting and potentially repairing the damage caused by the malicious file.
Verdict and conclusion: Avira Pro is recommendable without any problem even though the scan is very slow. The viral and heuristic database is proven today. The Cloud protection is also commendable, thanks to AI and Machine Learning. We can congratulate the Avira company for its significant efforts in terms of performance, protection, and optimization of RAM and CPU consumption of the antivirus.
