@@movingforwardwithahad317 Honestly, the issue in USA is lack of REAL drivers tests and REGULAR testing (at least every 3 years). 2jz were best inline 6 that time but now bmw makes best inline 6 engine. The reason behind toyota usin bmw engine in supra n transmission is pretty bullet proof too
BMW makes great engines and their transmissions aren’t horrible. The issue with BMWs is their use of plastic cooling components that become brittle after a few years and break easily causing coolant leaks which then leads to overheating and possible engine failure. Another common issue with BMWs is oil leaks and the complexity of the emissions and electrical systems that age and break down over time. Engines themselves are built solid but the vital components that are supposed to protect the engines generally fail to do so. Japanese manufactures use plastic components too but they keep it to a minimum as their systems aren’t as complex and there’s also various grades or qualities of plastic where some will last 200,000 miles vs German components only lasting 75,000-120,000 miles. So yes I agree that the Camry TRD will last longer than anything developed in Germany and assembled globally.

Hey Scotty thanks for all your help. Appreciate you. I just got a 21' Camry V6 XSE all the options. White with Black roof and the black out package. It's a beauty. Take care & thanks again.
After a long struggle and a lot of research I found a solution to the headliner coming down at the edges: carpet tape is double sided and works well. It is best to get rid of a small layer of any foam that is rotted first (just a bit). Then apply the tape and stick the headliner back in place. It has worked on my Avalon for 5 years now even on the freeway with the windows down. It even looks great on my first try.
I like how Toyota kept the racing option on their cars, they also have tons of cars to choose from, honda went the other route, no more special racing options and package trim levels
Yeah it's kinda cool. But with the open diff you're really only squealing one wheel. Toyota could at least have given us a limited slip. Not sure you much that would raise the cost.

Thats a 2 into 1 exhaust system! You can see the Y-pipe! C'mon scotty I know you know better than that. 2 into 1 is fine, no shame in that but its not true dual, literally no car company makes a basic car without an X pipe or crossover. But yeah, its got 2 mufflers. Its a nice car, I like it.
My 23 Camry TRD gets great gas mileage for being a V6. The only 2 gripes I have are: 1. The speakers suck and the infotainment screen is small. For 36k you should get nice speakers and a larger screen. 2. Theres rattles. Door panel rattles specifically. I’m assuming it’s cheap plastic “sound dampening” that doesn’t help. Other than that, the car is amazing.

2010 Corolla . Still has not needed a mechanic for engine, drivetrain. I have had to replace brakes and tires. Why cant toyota make forever tires and brakes?.arghh.😜
Looks good for a Camry. My wife loves hers. A few things bug me, but I don't have to drive it. The rear lights are huge, and light up only a small section. The more expensive ones have a fully lit up rear light, but with a warranty I am not touching it.
I noticed that too! I just bought a 2024 TRD and of course test drove it during daylight hours. I do love it. But I remote-started it last evening as I was walking back up my driveway, having fetched the mail. I saw how small the tail lights glow. I don't hate it, but I was a little surprised. Reminds me of old classic cars with those little tail lights. And I'm cool with that.
@@the8thvictim Not sure where you are from but here in the US the current upper trim Accords can get the same 2.0 turbo that the Civic Type R has in it, although slightly smaller turbo. Type R has 306 hp and 295 lb ft torque and the Accord has 252 hp and 272 lb ft.
I just finished watching.the video where you said the 8 speed transmission on the 20018 Camry is not good and that basically any 8 speed is not good ......then I see this video where you're loving this 8 speed Camry....what gives Scotty ???....I'm surprised you didn't give us an explanation of that in this video ?
Hey I got a new one myself, 2021 Metallic Black and I love it, along with my Monte Carlo SS and other toys and i gotta admit it's fun to drive especially in South Jersey where I have a ton of winding roads..
I bought one, not knowing what it was other than a sporty Camry… Yea, I will not drive it with the traction control off, but then, I only have 3200 miles on it… Yeah, it’s got power…
I’m enjoying Scotty car reviews. He looks like he’s having fun. Good to hear him talking well about newer vehicles. Great video Scotty. The TRD is nice. Just questionable if it’s worth it since it’s missing some of the features the XSE Camry have for the price point since it’s based on an SE
TRD rides to rough like an SE. I remember when people called camrys boring appliances but making it back home and driving a million miles trouble free is not boring.
I bought the TRD, no lie. 2024, Midnight Black. Superb looking. But jcak and anthonycharles make a great point. You spend more time INSIDE of a car than you do outside of it when you are interacting with the vehicle. I just don't need many luxury items because I learned to drive in the '70's and my TRD is not only faster, and handles better, than any muscle car of that era, it has delights that I never dreamt of. Therefore I miss nothing. And I'm cool with that. @@jcak552
Got a 2000 Toyota Camry with a 4 cylinder with 126,000 miles for 125 bucks been sitting for about 3 years, put 800 bucks worth of work into it and it still runs like a champ, never have I ever wanted to get one but it's good on gas and reliable as hell to this day
From September 24 to 29, I had a similar 2019 Camry as a rental car, not as fancy as the TRD, had black cloth seats. I rented it in Portland, Maine. It had 34,000 miles and no rust damage to speak of. Friday the 25th about 12 pm, I revved up the engine. It was a good car, got 30 mpg overall. My only complaint was the transmission squealing at about 5 mph in D. Before I end this comment: 🛎️🔔(I remembered)
So basically for 30 grand, Toyota made the perfect vehicle, capable on the track, daily drive, good economy, fun to drive and reliable. Nobody can beat that.
I actually think Scotty might be leaning close to selling out to Toyota or a local dealer where he got his Supra and now this TRD Camry recently. For example, you can notice when he's filming in the backseat area he moves the camera quickly but it's apparent this video doesn't have the rear air vents, but he doesn't want to point the absence of rear air vents, bec that would make this an 'econobox' car and that wouldn't do him any favors from Toyota or the local dealer he's cooperating (aka selling out to) for getting current model vehicles to show off on his channel. He also fails to call the stupid worthless engine cover but rather opts for beauty cover.
Maybe. Obviously I don't know Scotty's business dealings. But are rear air vents that big a deal? You're riding in a 5x7 foot box. The AC will get back there soon enough. Scotty was quick to point out the rear seat immobility. I don't find his reviews suspect.
Considered the Camry TRD. Looks great sounds lame. Bought a Daytona charger R/T. The active exhaust with the hemi is pure awesomeness. Will it be more reliable then the Camry heck no.
oh trust me, if you don't WRECK IT... or screw up the maintenance... your Charger will be juuust fine. i'm the original owner of an 5.7L V8 '07 Dodge Charger R/T AWD with 50,900 miles and she's running perfectly. only major maintenance i've had done were the two airbag recalls.
Oops me again as i said i have a Lexus rx with 248000 miles on it no problems what so ever best vehicle ive ever owned and ive had Mercedes and BMW and Ford s none comes close to the Lexus rx hybrid ,,amazing no oil leakage and doesn't use any oil either no water leaks although i had to put a new radiator as a stone from the vehicle in front went through the radiator ,but apart from rotors and pads plus timming belt and water pump no problem s ,an absolutely brilliant vehicle from Lexus,,thanks for a quarter of a million miles trouble free motoring s
Scotty I would say the biggest issue with the new Toyota Camry TRD is the fact that it is a four-door sedan and there are no cup holders in the backseat besides in the doors and those are for only bottles with caps, got to get into the quirks and features. There is no center arm rest with cup holders like a regular Camry and every other 4 door sedan 🧐

A lot of people are also curious and dont know what car it is so I sometimes catch them looking at the back and inside of it when I'm not around, Its a fun car and I'm happy with my purchase.
People are sleeping on the TRD for sure. It's gorgeous and a really nice car actually.
"Pretty good at getting a good deal at a Boston dealership" you sure it's not just cause they thought u were hot?
@@riptomydeadhomies It is.
There are like 35k used with like 30k miles on em now.
Hey Scotty thanks for all your help. Appreciate you.
I just got a 21' Camry V6 XSE all the options. White with Black roof and the black out package. It's a beauty. Take care & thanks again.
That Camry looks like it’s 15% into need for speed underground game completion.
My 2005 Camry had the headliner coming down, upholstery tacks did the job! Ten minutes or less.
"Let's get a better look at that" will be my new favorite phrase when I ripp something off someone's car from now on!🤣🤣🤣
I'll do that if I'm waiting for a parking stall at a mall and someone steals it! Karma is real.
LOL!
So early Scotty still hasn't moved his hands yet in the video
lol
I like how Toyota kept the racing option on their cars, they also have tons of cars to choose from, honda went the other route, no more special racing options and package trim levels
Scotty out here doing his thing! Living his best life! I see you man!
I think Scotty could run an entire orchestra with those hand movements

Scotty: Toyota you did it again! 👍
I loled on that 😂😂😂
😆
Yeah it's kinda cool. But with the open diff you're really only squealing one wheel. Toyota could at least have given us a limited slip. Not sure you much that would raise the cost.
Toyota did an amazing job on TRD this year. The Avalon is INSANE as well.
I wish they sold a car that was Corolla size with an Avalon interior. I love that Avalon interior, but it’s too big for me.
I just got the 2020 XSE V6 and it’s been such a nice ride
New Camry styling is as loud as Scotty talks
Yeah that Black plastic in the rear will look ridiculous in a few years...All faded and trendy.
I would take this in one color with no spoiler, and same for the interior. I would defnitely miss the rear fold down seats.
@@TheRainHarvester Well, how are the 2020 models looking?

@@j_freed Scotty is a rich man who spends a lot of money on fancy vacations, real estate, his wife, his children, his grandchildren etc. Don't feel sorry for him, he enjoys life more than a lot of people. Reason he doesn't buy a fancy new car is because he wants to prove he's an excellent mechanic who can make used cars run.
cdude100 maybe, but he does have a camera handler.
I just got a 22 in the white and black scheme, and the standard sound system is dumpster juice!🤮

The “Scotty Burnout” service package seems to be a hit even with new car buyers. What a life this man lives!
Scotty, Finally you got the 8th gen Camry for review.
I have the 2020 XSE v6 and I absolutely love it 😍. How come your thoughts on the 8 speed changed? First you said they are having problems and now you say it’s perfect
When he gets his hands on the vehicles instead of reading about them, it’s the experience maybe lol
He fell in love with how smooth she ride Lol.
I hear some people are complaining about "gear hunting" in the 8 speeds on mountainous roads. But this can be remedied by choosing the gears yourself.
Read somewhere theres an update or so

When it cover a reliable and powerful engine its called beauty cover, when it cover an unreliable piece of junk its called stupid useless plastic cover
2010 Corolla . Still has not needed a mechanic for engine, drivetrain. I have had to replace brakes and tires. Why cant toyota make forever tires and brakes?.arghh.😜
Same here mate, got a 2010 corolla conquest 6 speed manual trans. what trim/model is your corolla?
forever tires are in development and are expensive brakes? maybe get some high end akebono ceramics
My 2009 needed a complete suspension overhaul plus mounts at 90k miles. Engine/drivetrain no issues. 1 Coil went out and put me on limp mode.
I got 2003 Toyota Camry in 5 speed manual.

Scotty dont tell me you're colour blind now hahahah joking bud
Man what a sexy, powerful, reliable, comfortable and spacious car, the price is fairly reasonable too, too bad they don't sell it in my country
I'd like to see Honda come out with a Type R Accord and see how the two compare.
Honda would be better.
I wonder why Honda haven't put a Type R engine in the present gen Accord.
If Honda actually build a Accord Type R again, it would destroy the Civic Type R reputation cuz Accord has more POWER as always
Yea I’m pretty sure Honda the type R Accord, I’ve seen pictures and Acura is bringing the Tlx Type s in 2021 this is gonna be lit
Afternoon scotty! I've got a 2019 camry LE. They are great cars indeed!

I got a 1996 Camry station wagon, 500 000kms. Runs as smooth as a sewing machine.

Though I think you should have bought a lift instead.
He's been bought by Toyota.
Hey I got a new one myself, 2021 Metallic Black and I love it, along with my Monte Carlo SS and other toys and i gotta admit it's fun to drive especially in South Jersey where I have a ton of winding roads..
Toyota: Scotty it’s time that we take back the Supra......
But wait Mr Kilmer, we have this Camry TRD that we’d like you to glorify
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

the cars are still dang good either way
I bought one, not knowing what it was other than a sporty Camry… Yea, I will not drive it with the traction control off, but then, I only have 3200 miles on it… Yeah, it’s got power…
I really like my TRD...Put it in sport mode and wow. Also very practical with decent gas mileage.
Hope you have a garage big enough to keep all the cars that you “got” this month.
I know right? He fixes customer cars and we see it in a video that he "got" a new car, just like how he's "quit" 100 times. Anything for views.

I’m enjoying Scotty car reviews. He looks like he’s having fun. Good to hear him talking well about newer vehicles. Great video Scotty. The TRD is nice. Just questionable if it’s worth it since it’s missing some of the features the XSE Camry have for the price point since it’s based on an SE
true but you get a cool spoiler so it makes up for it
TRD rides to rough like an SE. I remember when people called camrys boring appliances but making it back home and driving a million miles trouble free is not boring.
Great point.
Didn’t you criticize Toyota for their 8spd when it first came out.....saying it’s not reliable?
I was just gonna comment that lol
Exactly what I was thinking.. 🤔
They perfected it with 3 speed switch!
unlike other companies....toyotas probably fixed it by now.

5:14 gotta admire those Japanese welds
I still remember Scotty said "Toyota have an issue with 8 speed transmission"
I have the 2019 xse v6 fully loaded and I love it! I like the trd model but mine has way more features.
Nonya Biznes just about as fast as this “racing” Toyota lol
And you have a lot more comfort…

8 Speed Automatic Transmission sounds so nice 😍
I have a 22 TRD they made the suspension better and not as stiff cause it's a little smoother than my 23 Camry XSE
Whenever Scotty Kilmers drops the new videos I roll up the fat Woolford and get all schmoked up.
Considered the Camry TRD. Looks great sounds lame. Bought a Daytona charger R/T. The active exhaust with the hemi is pure awesomeness. Will it be more reliable then the Camry heck no.
At least you're realistic. Have fun with your new car! 🙂

" Hey Honey ! That Scotty guy has ANOTHER car out in front of our house ! "
What kinda red-blooded man whines about cup holders? 😆 🤣 😂
