      If i won the lottery, certainly, sadly it's only way i'd ever have that much money. And only if they do custom paint jobs? If i'm spending that much money on a bike i want to pay a little extra to have it painted the way i want it.

      Absolutely, however with severe limitations with the amount and location of dealers in the US, and no direct to consumer sales, likelihood of purchasing one is slim for me. If I’m residing in Florida, the nearest dealer is in Texas. If I don’t have a local dealer, I would rather not have to hassle with a middle man.

    I would love to see a comparison of the latest Tri bikes, looking at their aerodynamic drag coefficient, their weight, their hydration storage options, and price. That would be a great video for anyone looking to buy!

      Yeah - I want to see a windtunnel test of the available bikes with comparable equipment (wheels!!!)
      They never show the actual performance of these bikes. Probably because the difference is minimal.

    2 problems… 1.) who are the US Dealers? They’re impossible to find. 2.) where you going to put your spares if you’re using the lower storage as hydration?

    Taking aside the operational issues, it would be interesting to know the aerodynamic penalty (if any) of having the hydration on the downtime and the bento box. Comparing it for example the the philosophy of a Canyon Speedmax, where you would likely have to add an frame bottle to get to the same fluid capacity

    • @MarkLRandall

      Can add bottle or two behind saddle on Canyon as an option.

    A minor thing I really like about this bike is the use of "normal" bars that can be fitted with regular bar tape. I always strive to have my bikes look unique, and this is a thing that pushes me away from the Canyon for instance where you are stuck with those custom Ergon pads that as far as I know only come in black.
    It's also great that they didn't go the Argon way of making proprietary parts where there really is no need - brake calipers - that insofar as I know can only accommodate 140 rotors.

    I own a P5X and sadly I feel Cervélo, for a long time at the top of innovation, is falling behind all the brands. They haven’t released any updates on their bikes in ages. The P5 is the same it’s been in almost a decade and continues to be their top of the line bike. The PX doesn’t seem to land with the pros. Love this bike! Unbelievable machine. I wish Cervélo would get their innovative team back on track.

    Well, I still got 2 kidneys...mybe its time to sell one for a Cube Aerium 68X SLX? 🙂 Besides the (outrageous) price point of decent bikes these days I think it is a stellar looking bike and very very functional one as well, loved the idea of "playing" with hydration and storage set up for various distances compatibility! and it also comes with a wide profile wheels at both levels which not all brand supply straight on from purchase, if I had the money I think the big competition would have been a Cube Aerium 68X SLX Vs. Canyon Speedmax CF SLX 8 Force AXS.

    • @bohouss3622
      @bohouss3622 Год назад

      I have it as well and there is quite a lot... bigger water storage plus better maintenance - which is very painful on shiv... ability to refill on ride which is impossible on shiv... possibility to kill the bolts when going 1x12... better integration of bento boxes + variability of whole setup... I am not saying I will switch but it is definitely an upgrade over Shiv

    • @larrylem3582
      @larrylem3582 Год назад

      Most TT courses are pretty flat so hard braking usually isn't an issue. Rim brakes have lower aero drag. But wheels today are made for disk brakes so there's not much we can do.

    • @matthiaswuest7271
      @matthiaswuest7271 Год назад

      I have no real stake in the game as both of my bikes are rim brake but 2 points:
      1) disc brakes have also allowed manufacturers WAY more tolerance to make aerodynamic wheel profiles and fork shapes. So even if discs are by themselves less aero than no disc (duh) the overall system of frame+wheels could still be faster
      2) disc brakes work way better in almost all conditions than a lot of the shitty integrated rim brake options for TT bikes, though obviously that is frame dependent
