I love these Genie+ Science episodes. Would you do one that is focused on a relaxed day? Must let family sleep in till 8am, eat breakfast, must get a coffee, each lunch sitting down, meet a character, take a photo, buy a souvenier, must eat an ice-cream or treat, and ride 3 or 4 rides without standing in line?
I think this is a great idea. I would also add in, for magic kingdom in particular, not crossing from one side of the park to another and back again to make it to lightning lane times. This would be great to cover for those with little kids and grandparents in the group.
I used Genie+ at HS 2 weeks ago and it was a nightmare. Booked my first lightning lane (slinky dog) for 1030. After that there were no lightning lanes available for rides before 7pm. I complained and they reimbursed me. You pay for Genie+ to make things less stressful and it was awful. HS is my favorite park and it was the worst day of my vaca
We just got back from our trip & used genie+ for our group of 12. Hollywood Studios was by far the hardest park to navigate due to tower being half down & massive crowds. Hope this info helps someone: We found success by following many of Molly’s strategies. We did genie + slinky dog at 7 am for a 10 am ride. Then, we took advantage of our resort early entry. We rope dropped Runaway Railway & walked on 5 minutes before early entry even started. We were then able to do toy story mania with a 5 min. wait. Half the group went to Hollywood Blvd. per Molly’s suggestion at park open. The other half went to smugglers. Both lines (rock & smugglers) waited 20 minutes or less respectively. Unfortunately, the line for Tower was long due to half capacity. We waited to ride which was our one wrong decision. A 40 min. wait at 8:45 turned into a 120 the rest of the day. We waited 2 hours at park close. The rest of the day genie + was used for smugglers at 7 pm & fillers. Everything major was out by 11 AM. But for our group the money was worth it for slink, smugglers, and no stand by waits at shows. Rope drop was key to our success & if given the choice our group would say do tower first then rock at park open. It may save you time if it is running at half capacity still. Hope this helps! Molly, your advice helped our group immensely & I can’t thank you enough for that!!! Your tips made a hectic day much easier.
We’re here at HS today (Tues 3/22). It’s my fav park but absolutely horrible today as far as ride availability, Genie + should be renamed “not currently offered”. 😩 three of the four of us were on at 7 AM and we did manage to get ROTR at 7:45 PM tonight. We have all refreshed the entire day (to the point it’s only 2:45 PM and my phone is at 23%). Nothing is available other than shows and every once in a while, alien saucers shows availability for genie+. I hate that we’re walking around with our faces in our phones to keep refreshing instead of enjoying Disney. :(
Based on the hotdog conversation, can AllEars add a weekly Seinfeld style show. Just have four or five members meet at a restaurant and discuss "important" random topics. "Why do we park in driveways and drive on parkways?"
I used genie+ in February. It is not that bad if you plan which is what you have to do anyway when going to Disney now. Watching all of Molly's videos really helped.
The fact that you have to get up at 7, keep track of your 120 minute times, visit guest services, and be on your phone fiddle faddling while on other attractions just to get good stuff just seems miserable. I’m sad you can’t just enjoy the parks and still get to ride the big rides, especially since you paid extra. Thanks for the walk thru.

Snow white mine train glitched for us in our favor. We were having glitches on getting tickets for us for 45 mins at 7am because it kept saying we were not at a resort hotel (we were and this was day 3 using genie) guest services wasn't open and we magically had passes come up for which we didn't pay for. They worked too. 🤣

I was just at WDW last week. I was excited to see both Molly and Quincy at MK for the return of FOF parade. Wish I could have chatted a bit but others beat me to you both. Now onto HS business! The day we went to HS sucked! Got news for everyone Rise of the Resistance LL sell out before even resort guests can get it! If you are resort guest and don’t get it……. GET INTO THE PARK FOR EARLY ENTRY!!!! We were able to get on Rise with a 60 minute wait time. It went down shortly after and really never went back up ALL DAY! The following rides also went down temporarily while we were there TOT, RRC, MMRR, Alien Swirling Saucers and Slinky Dog Dash which also went down the majority of the day. People pay way to much money for this to be happening!!!!!! Disney needs to fix these issues! The cast members at HS are my new heroes. They must get cussed at all day there with all these temporary closures of rides…… with 2 rides not so temporary!
Guest services made my day at HS one day. I jumped for joy. I'm not very good with tec. I couldn't get ROR on standby. The young man helping me asked to see my app. I showed him what I did. Closed the app and he asked me to look again. When I did the magic was there. Had a standby for ROR. Was even better than normal. It was good anytime I wanted to use it. I was so happy it made me cry.
This was so much fun to watch! Made watching my least favorite park enjoyable! :) The reason that HS is my least favorite is because it’s the smallest in size, but has so many popular attractions and lands. It’s stressful with the number of people crammed in the park, and the lack of dining options.

We were at Hollywood Studios 2 weeks ago. We got on everything through genie plus and early park entry. We saw the muppets show, Frozen and Indiana Jones. We were done by 5:00 and missed the flooding rain. The only attractions we didn't do was ROR and toy story mania because we can do those at Disneyland. ROR is much easier to get a LL at Disneyland. The only thing I couldn't conquer was how to prevent frizzy hair in the humidity. lol.
So happy to hear this! I’m really hoping to be done by 6 with HS. I do have Sci Fi dining rsvp and plan on ror but would love this efficiency of a day!
@@Rome8oh5 We did have to fiddle faddle some to get better times. We are used to it as we use genie plus at Disneyland. Our first ride we booked was Slinky dog dash at 7 am. We then did early entry to get on Mickey and Minnie Runaway Railroad. We walked on the ride. We would book the next one either two hours after we booked one or right after we scanned in for a ride.

@@Rome8oh5 It is easier at Disneyland because everyone is on an even playing field having to wait until you get into the park rather than competing with the resort guests at 7 am. I love ROR but didn't do it because it can be hard to get a LL even with the extra fee.We did slinky dog first since that sells out fast and then we did tower. Next was rockin roller coaster. We then went to Disneyland last Saturday.
Great video!!! The "group dynamic" was wonderful - more, please... Glad it got shown that having a group does not change how Genie+ works (as long as not more than a dozen) and how to handle a glitch in the system. Alan - great reaction to Beauty and the Beast. Thank you so so much. We finally heading to Disney in June from ireland. After covid cancelled our trip 4 times. Both nurses and 2 little kids. In that time genie plus has dropped and it's so awkward for first time users. Your videos have been so super helpful to us all.

Yes for the character meets, especially best place to get a Mickey pic! And I want to know if there are PhotoPass photographers there, and what outfit Mickey has on, so we can coordinate, of course! Lol! The same for Minnie, please!

When Duckfist wasn’t ready with the magic band: THAT IS ME seriously every time I think I’ve learned the system, it’s the opposite. I think I’ve got the right thing ready, nope. Never. This is why I liked it better when we all just waited in line 😂.

Ok, that clarification JUST CHANGED MY WORLD. I didn’t realize that Genie + doesn’t know your party size when it suggests options to you. I am so grateful that you clarified that. Your repeated assertion that part size is irrelevant makes TOTAL sense now. 🤪 I’m sure it always made sense to everyone else, I was just slow.
So Molly and AllEars, I've watched a lot of your Genie+ videos, thank you for your science! But my main question is: what makes extra Genie+ return times come up later in the day? (e.g., when you guys got ToT or RnRC after fiddlefaddling later in the day) Do people cancel previous Genie+'s they've already booked? Does Disney release more return times due to high demand? What in the Genie+ system makes that happen? Thank you again from a big fan. :)

Question: Do you have to remember what time you booked the ride or does the app tell you what time you booked it so you can book the next one 120 mins later.
When we went in Jan majority of the rides had an inflated wait! We made it a game to guess the real wait time. It was even something that I was able to bring up during a focus group call about Genie (free version)
I would love an RTT that has favorite unofficial activities and memories, like finding your hand twins or measuring Andy's footprints against your foot. With the busy-busy and stress of WDW right now, those little moments of joy to reset seem more important than ever.
Don’t fret. They did all the big attractions they had intended to do (I counted 5 rides, not 4; plus they did BATB show). The only big attractions they skipped were ROTR and Smugglers, but that was their plan all along. Many park goers want to do those two rides so that would potentially add a wrinkle in your day, but they finished by about 5pm and so there’s still time in the day to fit those rides in. As far as the other rides they skipped, Aliens and Lightning McQueen are basically kid rides with typically short waits. And Star Tours wasn’t on their must-do list as it gives Molly motion sickness, though I think they said the regular queue wasn’t very long.
I love that Duckfist is hand twins with Audrey Hepburn and that is the only place to verify that. Love this video, you all really create very entertaining videos with valuable info for our trip planning. Thank you!
This was really helpful! There will be 3 of going to WDW in the fall and I wanted to know more about how Genie+ would work. Also, the Beauty and the Beast production bright a tear to my eye. I don't need to see it at Disney. Nothing can top that version.🥺😫😭

I was thinking it might make for a fun video if the 4 of you would split up into 2 parties of 2. Have a list of attractions to do and a meal of your choice. Then see who had better success using Genie +, Who had a more or less stressful day. Team 1- Molly/Duckfist and team 2- Alan/Quincy. Just an idea.

When the 120 minute rule first was mentioned, the panda from Turning Red had the worried face on the marquee! LOL Talk about a perfect coincidence! Still haven't seen it btw in case anyone's wondering! Also, I feel like DuckFist should change his name to TOADFist, am I right?! @@shaunryan827 have fun. Make sure to get magic bands. It just adds up with genie+ and fancy rides and there’s 4 of us. But I’d rather pay for comfort versus standing in line for hours. We were able to enjoy the different snacks and watch the shows as fillers.

I love your videos and the enthusiasm you bring. If I were in front of Disney management I'd ask them "The Disney Company spent billions of dollars over the past 50 years to create the world's greatest immersive experience and now you want everyone to bring their mobile phone and immerse themselves in a cheap generic mobile app experience? Why?". It was a terrible decision. Let me propose what they should have done... expand the Magic Bands to have sensors every 12 inches in the ground everywhere, embed sparkly fairy dust lights into the ground. As you walk forward the lights lead you to the fastest path to an attraction with the shortest line. The lights derive from your movement your preferences for attraction, shows, shops, and restaurants automatically. Keep the Fastpass vending machines to sell surge priced board-now passes. While you're Fiddle Faddle trademark is cute, does anyone want to spend more time on their mobile app? In the parks or in real life? -Frank

I agree. With all the revenue pouring in, these constant maintenance issues have to stop.

Thank you so so much. We finally heading to Disney in June from ireland. After covid cancelled our trip 4 times. Both nurses and 2 little kids. In that time genie plus has dropped and it's so awkward for first time users.

Yes for the character meets, especially best place to get a Mickey pic! And I want to know if there are PhotoPass photographers there, and what outfit Mickey has on, so we can coordinate, of course! Lol! The same for Minnie, please!

When Duckfist wasn’t ready with the magic band: THAT IS ME seriously every time I think I’ve learned the system, it’s the opposite. I think I’ve got the right thing ready, nope. Never. This is why I liked it better when we all just waited in line 😂.

Ok, that clarification JUST CHANGED MY WORLD. I didn’t realize that Genie + doesn’t know your party size when it suggests options to you. I am so grateful that you clarified that. Your repeated assertion that part size is irrelevant makes TOTAL sense now. 🤪 I’m sure it always made sense to everyone else, I was just slow.
So Molly and AllEars, I've watched a lot of your Genie+ videos, thank you for your science! But my main question is: what makes extra Genie+ return times come up later in the day? (e.g., when you guys got ToT or RnRC after fiddlefaddling later in the day) Do people cancel previous Genie+'s they've already booked? Does Disney release more return times due to high demand? What in the Genie+ system makes that happen? Thank you again from a big fan. :)

When we went in Jan majority of the rides had an inflated wait! We made it a game to guess the real wait time.
It was even something that I was able to bring up during a focus group call about Genie (free version)
I would love an RTT that has favorite unofficial activities and memories, like finding your hand twins or measuring Andy's footprints against your foot. With the busy-busy and stress of WDW right now, those little moments of joy to reset seem more important than ever.

Only 4 rides for a day at HS. I sure hope we can do better. Making me nervous.
Don’t fret. They did all the big attractions they had intended to do (I counted 5 rides, not 4; plus they did BATB show). The only big attractions they skipped were ROTR and Smugglers, but that was their plan all along. Many park goers want to do those two rides so that would potentially add a wrinkle in your day, but they finished by about 5pm and so there’s still time in the day to fit those rides in.
As far as the other rides they skipped, Aliens and Lightning McQueen are basically kid rides with typically short waits. And Star Tours wasn’t on their must-do list as it gives Molly motion sickness, though I think they said the regular queue wasn’t very long.
I love that Duckfist is hand twins with Audrey Hepburn and that is the only place to verify that. Love this video, you all really create very entertaining videos with valuable info for our trip planning. Thank you!

This was really helpful! There will be 3 of going to WDW in the fall and I wanted to know more about how Genie+ would work. Also, the Beauty and the Beast production bright a tear to my eye. I don't need to see it at Disney. Nothing can top that version.🥺😫😭

I was thinking it might make for a fun video if the 4 of you would split up into 2 parties of 2. Have a list of attractions to do and a meal of your choice. Then see who had better success using Genie +, Who had a more or less stressful day. Team 1- Molly/Duckfist and team 2- Alan/Quincy. Just an idea.
I know you filmed this video to prove the point about Genie groups, but I just loved feeling like I got to hang out with the four of you at Disney and would love more videos like this for just that reason!

@@shaunryan827 have fun. Make sure to get magic bands. It just adds up with genie+ and fancy rides and there’s 4 of us. But I’d rather pay for comfort versus standing in line for hours. We were able to enjoy the different snacks and watch the shows as fillers.

I love your videos and the enthusiasm you bring. If I were in front of Disney management I'd ask them "The Disney Company spent billions of dollars over the past 50 years to create the world's greatest immersive experience and now you want everyone to bring their mobile phone and immerse themselves in a cheap generic mobile app experience? Why?". It was a terrible decision. Let me propose what they should have done... expand the Magic Bands to have sensors every 12 inches in the ground everywhere, embed sparkly fairy dust lights into the ground. As you walk forward the lights lead you to the fastest path to an attraction with the shortest line. The lights derive from your movement your preferences for attraction, shows, shops, and restaurants automatically. Keep the Fastpass vending machines to sell surge priced board-now passes. While you're Fiddle Faddle trademark is cute, does anyone want to spend more time on their mobile app? In the parks or in real life? -Frank
