Bought a Hangar 9 Piper Cub ARF, 20 Years ago, I never Flew it. I’m now getting it ready to Fly, using Saito 56 Black Knight Engine. Also, need to upgrade Radio. Should be fun Flyer.

I am in the process of finishing the Carbon Cub. I will use an old but very reliable OS 108 FSR Glow Engine with an 16X6 prop.

Call me old fashion but I would rather hear the airplane than music. Nice plane.

No music, need to hear the engine.. ARFs are great fun, but next step is to build a balsa kit. If you like the ARF project you should love to build a kit.

¿ AS3X Did you have to reduce the GAINS for the extra vibration ? there seems to be very little advice on this issue. I've put AS3X into a Great Planes Ultra Sport 46 with a Saito FA-82b and I'm trying to feel my way. For one thing the airframe suffers less vibration from 1/2 throttle upwards. On the other hand I'd rather have the system working for me during eg. landing approaches. I hope this makes sense. I noticed the ailerons fluttering on startup so presumably you must still have it enabled. Thanks.

Great video! I loved the tip in the beginning on turning the mixture screw, I had not known of that before.
I have two airplanes that still need motors. I can go either EP or GP, but I don't have experience with GP, which makes me nervous in doing.

No music on the Electric version maiden but you put music with the gas version maiden flight? Come on guys lol. Still, a great video really enjoyed it except for the music. 😜

You could hear the wind, quad rotors, and birds chirping over the engine noise once we were more than 500' away. It made sense to add music.

@@horizonhobby I was just giving you guys a hard time. The air to air shots would have been weird without music and hearing the quad blades buzzing lol. Keep up the great work guys!

They explain it on the other episodes and ALI explains it at the end of this video, Did you not watch the whole thing? lol He recommends the O.S. Engine GT15 for scale flying, 20cc would work for more aerobatic, flights. I suggest you watch the whole playlist of the gas conversion.

Ufff all that vibration! That's the only reason I wouldn't go gas. You can't beat that smooth electric power!

    • @TheBigO-k6g

YES YOU CAN. IT'S CALLED REALISM. ELECTRIC IS GREAT AND I FLY SEVERAL ELECTRICS BUT A FUEL POWERED PLANE IS HARD TO BEAT. BOTH HAVE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES.

I wonder how that would do with a 100cc twin cylinder? JUST KIDDING!

Hi!!! Great video, thanks for sharing with us, best regards !!! What's new on my channel? I invite you to watch the Volantex 757-3 take off... and this may be one of the last times I can share videos of this plane with you because last Sunday, October 6th, just in the ascent phase, it crashed without any control from a height of over 30 or 40 meters, in an uncontrolled spiral... it was very windy with gusts, it was a flight with high risks... probably, the Arkbird blocked due to excessive instability... I had no control over the plane, I was desperate to see it fall... you are always welcome!!!
