Thanks I got my discount
Thx so much
Good for her for putting blame where blame is due. And not yelling at customer service
How do you know she didn’t yell at them?
The sad part is that people who would never smuggle alcohol onto the ship don’t have a clue as to what containers to stay away from because they “look” like they might have alcohol in them🤦🏻♀️
I am glad I put perfume into tiny bottles when I bring it with me.
Sorry that Trisha had such a stressful embarkation day but boy, do I really appreciate her reasonable attitude. It's refreshing to see. Hope she got all of her stuff back.
My mom taught me to never write what you don’t want somebody to read. Very good advice. That was long before social media.
Excellent advice and well put!
Totally agree about too much being said on social media. YES they are ruining it for everyone. If something works for you doesn't mean it will work for someone else. Thanks for doing what you do Tony.
Thats what kills me. We are on the Conquest right now and some lady said I was over reacting because people are shirtless and hogging the buffet seating. Eat and leave! Don't come in without a shirt around food either. I've never seen anyone so loyal to a company. Berate people for saying the ac is at 76 and should be thankful.
Again that ship needed to enforce the rules about wearing shirts in the buffet
@Lisa-je5bb I'm only a gold card but definitely been on enough to say I've never seen that on a cruise. I actually seen Tony made a video about buffet etiquette and was like I haven't seen a lot of those. Well they all got checked off on this cruise Lol
Good on her for blasting the people who make it so hard on the cruise staff and their fellow passengers by working so hard to "beat the system" to save money on booze. I'd hate to be on Security or Guest Services staff for those short Carnival trips, it has to be an even more thankless job than usual.
Maybe they should just let people
Bring it on. It’s all Greed to be honest.
@@PsychGirlRaven Greed is one thing (everyone's got greed in them), but chaos is quite another, and I really don't want chaos on my vacations.
Dior must be thrilled that their fragrance is indistinguishable from the smell of liquor.
As a squeaky clean cruiser I was shocked to get the letter in my cabin that my luggage was confiscated due to "contraband" in my locked luggage. WHAT!!!
Turned out to be an extension cord with a surge protector.
The lady should have had her mousse returned.
That happened to my husband, his suitcase was at the naughty room and he had to go down and open it, he snuck a travel iron in his suitcase AFTER I told him he can’t bring that…lol they took it and he got it back at the end of the cruise on the naughty table…lol lol
Was the table really called the Naughty Table?
@@ebonigatson318 yep…lol the walk of shame..
I recently did a back to back on the Venezia. This boat has the most security I have ever seen on a cruise ship. We saw 2 different K-9 teams and security was walking around constantly like beat cops. I did feel safer in general but we still had people smoking weed on a balcony close to ours When I reported it I was told that they were already aware and working on it.
Maybe "working on it" meant smoking their share of it!
Snitch!!
I do not want to smell your pot!
@@danielroach5415😂
Most likely because marijuana is legal in New York and so they have to take extra measures to keep it off the ship. I know last year when we were in NYC it someone was selling it in some form on about every street corner, feet away from the police who gave bigger fish to fry
Over the years I would go to the gift shop, before going to dinner, and spritz myself with a little cologne from a tester bottle. Haven't done it recently though.
how could they not figure out the perfume? Just spray it and it smells crazy perfume-y, it's probably perfume. At least one member of staff should know how to distinguish perfume from a weird floral-y spirit?
I would't want a stranger to spray my expensive perfume
Thank you.
Would you feel safe spritzing a bottle of something in these times?
I wasn't sure if maybe that was just a lead-in to the ad.😅 I'm sure they could've sprayed it and figured it out, but then I thought the same about the mousse and apparently I was wrong. But who brings a huge bottle of perfume on vacation?
@@Lisa-je5bb I mean, I know nothing about security protocols LOL but I feel like as people who are in security, they'd have a protocol for spritzing something to test? Cause if they can't test the item by a scan, questioning someone who might be lying about it isn't going to be any more reliable, so isn't the natural solution to spritz it on a test strip in a control box, confirm the presence of alcohol, nix anything that would have been neutralized in the presence of alcohol (so anything organic), then once it dried and became generally nonreactive, had someone take a sniff through a mask? My guess is there's some sort of rule against randomly spraying someone's perfume to confirm it so they had to get the person's consent, but -- maybe this is cause I have a dog's nose -- I thought if it was perfume, they wouldn't need to spray anything cause the scent is usually overwhelming on the nozzle even on a new and unused bottle 😱
Love the jabs at the end of the videos about “your luggage will be confiscated.” 😂 Keep doing them Tony they are hilarious 😂
Travel size hair products would be better to take. Also if they hold on to an item you get it back at end of cruise . No big deal. Large bottles of mouthwash don’t work very well any more. Also a friend of mine works for Carnival and he told me that these companies are aware of RUclips blogs. They are watched by employees to get a better idea of what’s really going on.
I use a hair product that has CBD in it and I intentionally didn't take it on the cruise because I was afraid it would trigger a search or confiscation... crazy days we live in.
Yeah I think technically they're not allowed, which is stupid.
I never would have thought my hair mousse would get me flagged. I’ll be sure not to take any on my next cruise.
Hi Tony. Loved seeing the beautiful Jenny. I can understand her being upset. Especially if not doing anything wrong. The thing's people put on social media are out of control. As always thank you for all you do ❤
Wow! Kudos to her! She put the blame where it is due!
No she didn’t. Her bag not being delivered was carnivals fault.
Requiring all adults in a room to purchase a drink package is what forces a lot of these people to sneak. When its cheaper to book two cabins and get one drink package than it is to share a cabin and have to get multiple packages for the other guests who dont drink you know theyre charging wayyyy too much.
When you are willing to pay for two cabins maybe time to reduce alcohol.
Are you sharing one drink package?
My wife and I are in one cabin, and my son and daughter are in another cabin. I wish I could take advantage of the BOGO for 50% for my son and I. Then I would buy it.
I agree! What they charge for the drink package is ridiculous! But it’s even worse to try to just buy your drinks. They need to make it more affordable and also stop requiring everyone in the cabin to purchase the drink package!
I agree. They should keep that information to themselves or rely it person-to-person. The ONLY reason (I feel) to post it on the internet is to get clout. Or they want recognition or a "virtual" pat on the back for being successfully sneaky. All you're doing is snitching on yourself and making it more difficult for others. SMH. I'll never understand that mentality.
Oh no! you got me in a cologne cult! Lol...reference to everybody loves raymond classic fruit of the month skit...
Considering all the problems Carnival seems to have with alcohol related incidents, I’m not surprised they are getting more aggressive in cracking down on people sneaking in alcohol onboard.
They are being aggressive because if you are bringing it then you are not buying theirs. They will sell you all you want.
As a health care professional that has seen more death than a horror movie franchise, I have to say it is not only irresponsible, but also dangerous to sneak alcoholic beverages in other containers. The inappropriate storage and handling may damage your drink. The inadequate cleansing and poor judgement regarding choice of bottle (ex: hand sanitizer bottle) may cause the adultering of your beverage with a dangerous and potentially lethal residue that could cost you a hospitalization and even your life. Please refrain from doing this and instead bring the allowed alcohol and buy local drinks at the ports if you don't want to pay pricey cruise drinks.
They did it, they finally did it! They solved the cruise brawl issue, too many people moosing around!
😂
They could be smart about it and check to see if she purchased a drink package or not.
Good morning. How many times do people post criminal behavior on social media and get themselves caught. Ridiculous.
Crazy right!
There used to be a reality show where they aired videos for viewers to watch on tv.called the world's stupidest criminals...
Years ago you would hear cops say that it wasn't that they were so smart it was that criminals were that stupid. 😂
I’m impressed with her logic. She was inconvenienced due to others consistent cheating habits. Not Carnivals fault. Not her fault.
Why impressed?
@@daisymae3929 she’s not blaming Carnival, she’s blaming the people promoting and acting on it which inconveniences honest passengers with larger sized genuine containers.
People complained repeatedly about the marijuana smells and folks sneaking booze on board . Now TSA may be going overboard but this is what folks asked for .
@@shellysnodgrass9546 she wasn’t punished, just inconvenienced. Yeah, sad the exception has become the rule.
As a person who does zero drugs and almost never drinks, I'll be highly annoyed at people who sneak things onto a cruise ship if my hair gel, hair spray, sunscreen, etc., gets confiscated. The cruise lines have to do what they can to stay within the laws of the various places the ships go. If you can't do without illegal drugs on a cruise, don't cruise. Either fit your life to what you want or fit what you want to your life: Either is fine with me.
Good for you 😃👍. 🤣
Have you considered a career in undercover work on the cruise ship? You could file reports on suspected abusers.
@@gregdrivesdriver5104 That's not exactly my wheelhouse.
Blame can probably go both ways. Had most cruise lines not required both occupants of a cabin to buy a drink packages in order to get it, or to charge the high gratuities on every drink, then people wouldn't find ways to cut costs. Now though, and probably the reason it's all over social media, is that people find it to be a game to see if they can sneak the liquor on and get away with it.
We got married on a Cruise My wife brings a little fan with her to use while getting ready to go out to keep her cool while blow drying and styling her hair etc. The little fan had been on a dozen cruises or so. It met all of the requirements for a fan on board. It was confiscated on board. We had to go down to the naughty luggage room. They where pretty impressed with the fan and asked where we go it. Then they took it... 🤔 They did not care that my wife was putting on a wedding dress, makeup, hair styling etc. She was pretty pissed.
Put things like mousse and perfume in your carry-on. It's much easier to deal with questions if they don't think you are trying to "sneak" something onto the ship.
I have a bad back and need a heating pad. I always take on NCL with no issue. On cruise 21 with them, my suitcase isn’t delivered. After a night without it, no letter, no help I get a message it’s flagged. I go and find out it’s not allowed. I explained it has been in the same suitcase for years but they took it. It’s in their not allowed list, which honestly I never read because I don’t take on things I consider not allowed, but why allow me to bring it for years then ? Need to be more consistent.
Yes they are ruining it for everyone.. if you want to drink but can’t afford to buy some on the ship and feel the need to “sneak “ some in them you don’t need to be cruising.
It's on carnival too for wanting all adults to pay in the room. I haven't snuck alcohol on but I spend less because they have that stupid rule
Dont the allow certain whine or champagne on board? Legit go to aldi's and get 10, 5 dollar bottles of the faux champagne
@@PaulieLauraXombie1331 1 bottle per adult max 2 per room
Alcohol is not illegal. Cruise Lines are being greedy by selling it 4 times or more over the market price. Nobody will smuggle it If it's the price on the street. So let them bring the price down. It's absolutely ridiculous ... on top other nickeling and diming they do. I feel like I'm dealing with Spirit airline now. Look at how much they charge for instateroom WATER and tell me it's fair. And why is it ok to bring bottles of water or soda on Royal but not on Carnival?
@@VoiceEnFuego You can't blame them for that either. That started when people bragged about only buying one beverage package and sharing it instead of being honest. You can't trust people to do the right thing anymore, as sad as that is.
My bag once got confiscated over face toner. It was truly a 3oz bottle of face toner. Didn't even have alcohol in it. It was witchhazel based. LOL!
That’s ridiculous! Why can’t they run a quick test? Isn’t that the job?
What test would you run on an open bottle?
@@Lisa-je5bb idk but I’m not in their line of work
It doesn’t seem to be in Carnivals best interest to be that strict. Letting a handful of people get away with smuggling a few ounces of alcohol is better than annoying paying passangers
I've sneaked it on, but I won't say how. I also typically buy the drink package as well. I like a drink in my room, at my leisure.
You can use hair mousse. This is a matter of an employee/ employees that don’t know the rules. This happens all the time at TSA. Certain embarkation cities for cruises and airports can vary because they don’t know the rules. Remember the peanut butter and jelly sandwich that a TSA employee wouldn’t allow?. They decided it was gel, which was prohibited. Same with cupcakes. TSA management (a federal agency) finally ruled that the employees were incorrect. Always employees everywhere that don’t get the memos or know their job.
The problem wasn't the hair mousse. The problem was that whoever was checking was probably not familar with the brand, or thought the packaging or contents were suspect. Seems it would be easy to check hair mousse. Just squirt some out. There are even field tests for drugs if they are still concerned. Also peanut butter might be banned on certain airlines because of the prevalence of peanut allergies. Some of those allergies are so severe that even a trace of peanut or peanut product that the person comes in contact with could set off a life-threatening reaction. Though I think in the height of 911 regulations people did err on the side of caution. The first cruise I went on, I actually was way over the limit for carry-on liquids. The bottles and containers were okay, but the "one-quart bag" was probably closer to a gallon. TSA didn't blink, so I had no clue.
Going on Mardi Gras this coming Saturday… I will report back.
also, thank you for your channel. been an avid watcher since 2020. keep up the good work. no cruise in the future but love the content . thanks
So Tony, you're telling me that my cruise line might be a little suspicious that I have two 1.5 liter bottles of mouthwash, unsealed and refilled in the wrong color, in my checked or carry on luggage for a 4 night cruise? Come on man! It has to be okay I saw it done on RUclips.
😂
This lady has a valid concern. I know this is just a little tip, but I wear very expensive perfume. I always have it in my carry on, along with my jewelry when boarding. I am mostly concerned about it getting broken during the luggage handling process. Now, obviously, if you fly in to the port, this adds another layer of hassle, in that you must pack it in your airline baggage somewhere secure, and easy to retrieve. We usually drive to port, so, yes, this is easier for me.
As a matter of fact, my kid went on Carnival Glory back in March with a bunch of his friends. One of the group organized the effort, based on a video found online, to empty their legally permitted wine bottles and refill them with various hard liquors. I told him it was not worth getting caught over, but they did it and got away with it. Honestly, I'm glad they are cracking down on this stuff!
As long as they don't go after the honest people.
People have been using cans like that with false bottoms to sneak things on board. They could easily x-ray it and see it's just muse for the hair. Word to the wise, never put your preparation H next to your toothpaste.
IT is the glass and metal that the are seeing in the x ray image, anything large and esp. glass. Glass lights up on a x ray like a big neon sign.- liquid does not really have a image that is easy to see. You can see it but it is tough, and they don't have the time to flag every piece that looks suspicious. The ability to allow your liquid to lay flat (that is the key in plastic- hint-hint), it is very hard to see. Its an inconvenience that the cruise line is after, (we are catching some doing it so you will be next). But in reality, they are not going to catch much, in the grand scheme of the problem. If you have such items that are legit, place them in your carry on, that way you can show security right then and there. That way if it is a non-prohibited item, they will let it on. And it looks bad to hold up that embarkation line when they are being unreasonable. Port security scanner employees are not a Cruise Line employees, Customer service and security once onboard is, and they will take your time to prove there point that they are catching lots of these suspicious items.
My bags have been held several times! Once for having a curling iron that had a plug on it! Actually, they thought it was an extension cord!
Once my plier like nail clippers were mistaken for a ulu! I could have understood for a leatherman maybe, but those are usually folded!
A third time they didn’t identify what it was! When they told me where the plug thing was, I told them it was a curling iron and offered to retrieve it but they believed me as they knew all that had been identified as a plug.
We’ve had power strips taken twice once they left it on shore and had to supply something comparable, the other time they couldn’t give me another solution and gave it back to us after an annoyed electrician approved it for them. We still have to carry power strips but the plug is European and isn’t caught … it is legal anyway.
The nail clipper they tried to take then decided that that was stupid! Hubby had gone to retrieve the bag.
TSA used to have trouble with metal water bottles, I think. When I stopped for a while my luggage stopped being opened. Now they know the difference and I normally have it in carry on.
Mouse is normally under pressure it makes no sense to take it that I can see. Maybe this is a note to those carrying whipped cream to beware?😂😂😂😂
Cuz’ you just don’t want to leave the whip cream at home. 😂🤣😂🤣😂
@@maryreed6930 I’m seriously considering taking my own jam on my next cruise!
@@maryreed6930 Hoping too they tip the room steward extra!
I don’t understand why others have to sneak alcohol onboard and don’t get caught while people like this lady get their legitimate products confiscated.
I can't believe that they could not have spayed just a little of her mouse. I think there is a big difference between mouse and alcohol
I would've put it in my hair to show them lol. Nobody's taking my stuff away from me. I would be livid. I give her credit for being so calm about it.
Agreed. Not defending them. Some mousse brands contain alcohol as an ingredient.
One tip is to put your embarkation night outfit and swimwear in your carryon bag. You never know when your suitcase will arrive, no matter what.
I once was stopped for eye glass cleaner. It was in a tiny 0.3 oz atomizer. Security thought it was mace. I showed them the label and promptly squirted my glasses and wiped them clean. Brought eye glass cleaner papers the next time.
I'm on the Conquest now. I'm just over Carnival at this point. The blatant nastiness of guests and the amount of weed on the ship is a joke. You can't walk thru the halls without smelling it. We have an aft balcony and every morning I'm picking up numerous cig butts off the balcony because I don't want them thinking they belong to us. The buffet is a joke with extremely long lines and people cutting. Switching to Royal
I would suggest never leaving from NY, New Orleans, Baltimore, or Miami on short cruises - less "experienced" travelers take those cruises
@kimmcswain4544 Yeah we're out of Miami on this one. Tomorrow is a sea day and final day. Lord only knows what's going to happen lol
Try Virgin, even out of Miami it is a great experience. Carnival in Miami is particularly unfriendly and bad.@@Eli46123
I don't really understand why so many people think it's a good thing that Carnival is erring on the side of at best inconveniencing their passengers and at worst treating them like criminals. People sneaking booze on the ship costs Carnival money, that is the start and the end of the issue. There are tons and tons of drink package people "legally" drinking until they can't stand up straight all over every Carnival ship, so the issue isn't preventing drinking, it is just about money.
I love Carnival, I've sailed almost exclusively with them for the past 10 years because I have felt that they really do offer a more "fun" experience. However, my last three or four cruises with them, over the past 10 months or so, the experience of boarding has been very much the opposite of fun and was more like being booked into jail. Standing against a wall 15 at a time and being yelled at while the dog checks everyone takes away from the experience. I know a lot of people are willing to suffer almost any undeserved indignity in the service of "security," but I'm sure a lot of folks are more like me and don't appreciate a company treating me like a criminal just so I can then go and give them my money.
Our gambling gets us free cruises and drinks with Carnival and yet I'm not booking them. Instead I'm booking another cruise with Virgin, who treats me like a valued customer and an adult. Virgin's casino isn't very good, I don't get free drinks, the cruise is very much not free, but the experience is soooo much better that it's worth it. When some of your best customers don't even want your product for free, perhaps there is a problem.
Yes yes yes! Social media is totally out of control because of the idiots that have no conscious.
Carnival Pride in Europe this summer absolutely didn’t give a rip if your bag was full of any kind of alcohol or soda. I don’t know why it was so lax in Europe and is always a hardcore experience in the US.
Different laws there on what they can restrict. Consumer protection laws are hardcore in Europe.
I Royal Caribbean, at one of the ports my wife bought some alcohol at one of the visiting porch and brought it on the ship with no problem, and we drank it
Pure genius Tony how you blended the sponsor into the story! Kudos! (Would subscribe to the service but I'm living in Europe. 🤷♂)
I would not be surprised if they implemented the same restrictions as planes. Max 100ML bottles for all product, all bottles must fit in a 1L bag. To be honest, I am surprised it has not happened already.
Shhhhsh. Don't give them ideas 😅
@donnaschuepbach3830 right? The same thought crossed my mind, but I was debating whether to mention it for that reason. 😂
the more onerous the requirements, the less likely people are to travel. Also, why in the world is this important, I can take whatever I want to a resort on land, nobody is searching my bag.
If i were a big drinker, I'd do all inclusive resorts. My vice is good coffee. I'll ponyup for a Bucks
ha ha I actually had my luggage confiscated several years ago. Got the "phone call" to go down to level 1 to security to be there while the examiner my luggage. Evil me I brough my SCUBA fins and packed them, but the Xray machine could not detect what they were . Well at least it embarrassed the security folks.
Thank God, I blessed to be able to travel on virgin voyage, and the Ritz Carlton yacht collection.
I have a complaint about carnival. I've written Carnival they won't do anything. Here goes 1 I booked an unobstructed view cabin what I got was a lifeboat a roof over hang to hold the life boat and a wall. I called guest service they wouldn't do anything. But when I went to dinner I was assigned a table with a post to hold on to .I don't want to hold a post. It also had a post for my foot to wind around I talked to hostess she wouldn't help and put me there again and tried for a third day I stood up for myself and she finally switched my table what I got was the rudest waiter in the dining room I asked for milk to drink I was told I was to old the second night different table same waiter when we sat down he put 2 mobile wheelchair behind my wife she couldn't move for dinner that night they had lobster I asked for a secure wanted to change me $25.00 the table next to me the guy asked for 3not a word said. I did have a great room Stewart and the waiter at the first table was great I'm almost platinum on Carnival but the way I was treated I'm looking elsewhere
Years ago our luggage was pulled and was down in security. We opened our luggage and we were shown our water bottle which was empty. Anyway, now we put our empty water bottle in our carry on if there are any questions about it. In the past 14 years, it was never flagged going through the scanner.
I swear security makes it the biggest deal with water bottles lmao. Different situation but going thru the airport I forgot I had one unsealed water bottle in my carryon so I had something to drink before I got to the airport. The securtily lady puts my bag aside and 2 agents escort me over to my bag and then start questioning me and telling me if there anything I need to let them know about that’s in my bag. Anything illegal or item I should be in the possession of. After like 3 minutes of back and forth and my total confusion on wht tf they found. they open my bag and pull out the bottle confiscate it and then gave me my bag back. Like tf really make it the biggest deal on the planet about an unsealed water bottle. If it’s not allowed then confiscated it or make me throw it out. Don’t try to make me confess about bringing something illegal which I have no idea what tf they talking about
Haha! I see we’re on the same CruiseTok. 😉 She’s absolutely right. 🤷🏻♀️
My bag was held once. They didn't want to put it in the hallway because something was vibrating and making noise. I was super confused when they told me. Turns out my Amope foot file got turned on somehow. Definitely not what they thought it was. A good laugh for everyone when I opened the bag... 😂
There are plenty of affordable alternatives to buying the alcohol drink packages. On a pair of upcoming 7-day cruises, we’re strategizing with supplementing a couple bottles of wine (for wine coolers) with drinks in ports and maybe one or two on the ship. The all inclusive packages such as Princess Plus are a much better value than Royal Caribbean and Carnival. 🍺
I’m not sure the words value and anything related to cruising go together anymore.
Royal is all inclusive and unlimited drinks
@@michaelc754 you better do a little fact checking on that statement.
@@user-uu6yl5bk2l it’s literally says the same thing that princess drink package says lmao they are exactly the same bro

I don't understand why hair mousse would be confiscated. I mean, it's obviously not vodka. What's going on?
I would think that too. However, I have seen vodka infused whipped cream at the liquor store. So, it is possible that they could have vodka in a mousse can
@@cdw2682 How sad.
There’s no mention of brand or size, wife and kids have used mousse and I believe they are typically 8oz cans … make one ask what brand and how big
Carnival isn't stopping anything...fights are still going on etc etc etc...all they are doing is ticking people off by creating hassles where there were none.
What others do is not a reflection on me unless it is my little ones for which mine are now all grown. I would have been pissed.
I've had my bag "confiscated" once. There was a bottle of wine in it. I just had to pay corkage to get it back.
On Royal, you can bring in one bottle of wine each.
We are new cruisers and I don’t understand why people sneak in alcohol. I guess they don’t buy the drink package? I’d rather have an unlimited variety of mixed drinks than sneak in a few and try to make them myself? I must be missing something.
On a related note, we bought liquor as souvenir gifts at our port stops (some great distilleries in Alaska) and immediately told security when we re-embarked the ship for all aboard. They took our name and stateroom number and stored it until the end of the cruise.
(We cruised NCL)
Thanks for your great content!
Why would they keep the mouse? It is in a pressurized can like hair spray which is allowed. Now, Mouse is flammable bu so is hairspray. But, so is hand sanitizer. Are they going to stop people from using hand sanitizer?
I am not one for sneaking stuff on board. Seems like some additional training needs to be done with the Baggage Scan team. Check team needs to learn a bit more about the products they are looking at instead of arbitrarily holding the bag. I do get the need for security just need to learn how to improve the process. I am not a trained security guy but I did sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night LOL
Wife and daughter take massive bottles of liquids, perfume, lotions, etc. In 20 plus cruises never got bag held but never took Carnival, mostly Princess and Celebrity. Assume once you show not contraband will get it aboard, if object legitimately not allowed and not illegal assume would get back end of cruise. Not sure how big issue is.
I’m good with anything being held onboard, but not on land! Some things you need pre and post cruise you may not need onboard. I brought a tea kettle onboard that wasn’t caught because it folded. But, I assumed if I used it it would be noticed by the steward. He brought me one anyway so I only needed it on land (Australia).
Wondering the resolution to the story……hair mouse does not even come close to a liquid of any kind. Mousse usually comes in a hermetically sealed tin container that could in no way be inspected visually without sawing open the container. None of this makes sense. 🤷♀️ Nevertheless……..a word of caution!
In the end, those bottles may have been confiscated for good reason? Did she get them back?
I have a few cruise hacks I only share with my daughters and a few friends. Otherwise, it wouldn't work anymore because everybody would do it And then it would not work anymore.
Sigh🙄. Just be a grown up and accept AND follow the rules - it's cute when you are 16 going to the prom, just silly when you are paying high dollars to go on a cruise.
Agree 100%. If you have to sneak alcohol or a prohibited item onto the ship, then you don't have the maturity to be cruising in the first place.
Thank you.
Carnival really goes over board checking bags. When we boarded Royal last Sunday they weren’t even watching the screen as our bags went through the machine
Johnny Walker Red.. probably tastes like Preparation H. . If you want tasty Whiskey. Go with the Johnny Walker Green, Gold or Platinum label. If your feeling baller there is always Blue Label.
I'll take counterpoint here. This is 100% on Carnival and in several ways. First, and most obvious is they clearly feel they are having an issue with what they consider contraband making onto their ships. Sorry, but that is just too damn bad for them. You don't get to target, accuse, and/or inconvenience another, innocent passenger, because you can't stop the free booze from being smuggled aboard. The next reason this is on them is of course they have created the very problem they are trying to stop. Why are so many trying to sneak booze on board? Could it be the cost of the drink package? Could it that the so called all inclusive vacation that 20 years ago was marketed as the best value out there has now nickle and dimed and up charged it's way to no longer even carry value? Anecdotal evidence would imply many feel they have. I'll even go so far as to say that for the first time since 2008 I'm thinking about staying ashore and going back to all inclusive resorts over that very value proposition. Lastly even if we ignore the previous two issues, the final is hire better staff or train them better. The ones flouting the rules are being brazen about it so you know what you are looking for and there is no reason to be seizing bags because you can't tell a bottle of VO5 from a hip flask full of Captain Morgan. At that point open the dammed bag and look if you are that poor at your job.
I never travel with full size products. I just dont want to take any chances with security. Shampoo, perfume, hairspray, moose, everything in travel size
Heh,heh, heh… - Tony,, that preparation H number was hilarious.. 🤣🤣 - Always have to expect the unexpected.. . (pardon the pun..) 🌷
Friends don’t let Friends cruise with Carnival. Just say NO.
Yeah Carnival is starting to get outrageous.
We bought the deluxe beverage package and got our money's worth and more.
I know all too well about hair care and wht not. So it is understandable she was upset at people bringing alcohol in and messing it up to the point where people are having items confiscated even when it isn't liquor.
cruising used to be so fun.....I had a bag kept by security because I had a small folding pocket knife in the suitcase. Someone in "security" kept trying to explain to me in some odd form of odd English why the knife was forbidden but I never understood what she was saying. Never did get the knife back despite the receipt I had. Cruise ships are elegant prisons so shut up and do as you are told and enjoy yourself !
THANK YOU for bringing the PUNISHMENTS BACK!!! I love it Tony da man!!!!
It is a simple fix. If caught trying to sneak alcohol onboard, just place the passengers bag on the pier along with the passengers. Once the word is out that a cruise line enforces this policy with the ending of the passengers cruise. If there is no punishment, don't have the policy.
Glad your back to your original opening jingle 👍🏾
That would have to be a next level chemist to make a drinkable alcohol that smells like Christian Dior. Hair mousse is generally in an aerosol can, so that too would take significant knowledge to tamper with while still providing product. Maybe I’m being naive, but both would be beyond what most people could do.
Have a sign at embarkation that any alcohol caught being sneaked on will result in being kicked off the cruise. Guarantee that’ll stop most of these idiots.
A few years ago Carnival confiscated my bag because we had a small fan, who security said was a blender.
My last cruise I had a fingernail scissors in my purse and got my purse pulled off and I got talked to. I hardly use my purse and this has been in my purses for 5 or more years. I got to keep it even tho I told the security person to take it. Apparently NO scissors are allowed on board. Not sure that scissors can. Do much damage but…
On our last Carnival Cruise we were in Jamaica at the beach and there was 4 adults drinking from hand lotion & sunscreen tubes that they had filled with some kinda alcohol.
That’s insanity! I agree that criminals ruin it for others, but what’s new about that?
Love the singing.
Thanks!
This was crazy. I'd be so annoyed. As for Scentbird, it's amazing. I've used it since last January. It is so much fun to try a new fragrance every month and they ARE perfect for traveling. ❤
Happened to me. I had a Swiss army knife in my bad. The blade was too long. Got it back on the last day so not a big deal
Love my scentbird.. Can never finished it in a month.. and the best to travel with
Carnival is getting ridiculous. I am Platinum and I love the perks but... If I have to worry about them invading my privacy like accidentally coming in my cabin because someone in a nearby cabin is smoking pot or checking my personal toiletries; umm that means I have to start over with a different cruise line.
Try Virgin, you can status match and the experience is truly miles better.
The mousse that I've always purchased come in an aerosol can. Wonder how security thinks you can get alcohol in an aerosol can? 🤨
