- Butterfly is one of the most beautiful song I've ever heard tbh. the vocal arrangement is crazy, I can't stop listening to it. Hope you have fun listening to it as well, I wanted to include prologue to this video as well but I thought I had a reaction to it once and it can be too much but you still can go and watch yourself.

Armys always joke that we watch a video 7 times, but in truth it's probably 8 or 9. Because, like you were saying about the orchestra, we like to watch each member and then the group as a whole. Butterfly is one of my all time favorite songs, it's honestly a masterpiece and just so amazingly beautiful. It really is the musical embodiment of a butterfly, brilliant and bittersweet.
Also- bias can mean different things for different people. Like, I'm an OT7- I love all the members equally. But I will sometimes say I'm Taehyung and Yoongi biased because I relate to them the most... but at the end of the day if someone asked me to choose a "favorite"- I couldn't. I think you're bias may be Namjoon but I also think your bias wrecker is probably Yoongi. (Bias wrecker like a secondary bias. My bias wreckers would probably be Jin and J-Hope.)
That's basically how I use bias. Bias means biased, an inclination. If I meant favorite, above all others, I'd say so. For example, I'm RM biased, and my favorite music artist is the group BTS.
I watch 8 times - 1st watch generally and the 7 more times watching each member 🤣.

Butterfly was written/composed by Hitman Bang, Pdogg, Brother Su and produced by Pdogg. Pdogg is probably the most important person in the creative team at BigHit. He's credited on the majority of songs and he's the main producer for BTS material. Suga is indeed a producer for BTS but mainly for his own work and sometimes for other artists. Pdogg deserves a lot more recognition, he's fantastic 🦋
Under wikipedia and doolset RM, Suga, and J-Hope are credited as songwriters, but their names aren't on the Spotify credits which is weird. But I agree Pdogg actually produces a lot of BTS music. I know people want to give credit to the members which of course they deserve if they are involved in the song, but I've seen a lot of ARMY say certain members have produced songs that were actually done by Pdogg or a different producer.

It might be thaon some sites they only put the "Composer" the music writers, but the guys always write their raps and mostly all the lirics... And yes true, amry credits RM with producing even if he said several times he doesn't know much about it, he need done one by himself. As for Suga we know he produced some Bts songs(the ones the have the wisper"Suga" in them) as for Jhope I'm not sure, I don't think I've ever heard him talk about producing (yes or no)

Butterfly’s dance is probably the one in bts’ discography that has the most moves that link up to the lyrics. For example when the lyrics say “will you promise me” they put their hands together like a prayer, when jungkook sings “if I let you go, you’ll fly away and break, I’m scared I’m scared I’m scared” the walk around while his arm is in the air like he’s reaching for someone’s hand, and then at the I’m afraid part the all have their hands on their faces/heads like they’re genuinely afraid of something. Plus of course all the butterfly references in formation and just every time most of the members aren’t dancing they’re in some kind of butterfly-like formation/pose. And of course most of the moves are fluid and soft like a butterfly, with occasional hard hitting moves that give contrast and keep it interesting for the audience

A bias is usually the person that you see yourself in, a soul that you can relate to and feel safe with. It's like a friend whom feel like home to you. In my case I relate a lot to all of them and they feel like home to me.
My BIAS is V! His movements are mesmerizing. For me, V always dances especially. Just follow him in any dance. This is clearly visible in (V FOCUS).

Beautiful track right?! Something I love about BTS is their coherency in their art, a single work is well expressed from all angles - visuals, lyrics, melody, choreography, delivery - , everything serves the message.
Since you love "Butterfly", you will like also "For You", their japanese track from their 2016 japanese album.. The piano in it is exquisite and the choreography so poetic.
Anyway, here what you need to know about "Butterfly", based on all the interpretations I've gathered, I'd be interested to know your opinion. BTS is no stranger to mining emotional depth in their lyrics, and “Butterfly” is a key representation of the lyrical complexity that sets them apart as a K-pop act.
The non-single was promoted on Korean music shows alongside “Run” after they released The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 2 in November 2015. The B-side peaked at No. 4 on the World Digital Songs chart in 2015.
The lyrics express the fear of losing someone through the simile of a butterfly. The butterfly could be interpreted as representing the ephemerality of time that risks being lost at a moment’s notice: “Will you stay by my side?/ Will you promise me?/ If I let go of your hand, you might fly away and break, I’m scared.”
Here the explanations of some lines:
DON'T THINK OF ANYTHING
In this lyric, the phrase “don’t think of anything” is them begging their lover to think positively only. This song is about loving somebody suicidal, which mentioned later is “if I let go of your hand, you’ll fly away and break” claiming that leaving the subject of the lyrics alone will cause them to out their own life once nobody is around.

The uncertainty around the person they’re talking about, metaphorically comparing them to a butterfly, a beautiful but very fragile creature. They’re scared of this person leaving and not coming back. It could be referring to loving someone with a mental illness such as depression, as they are afraid for that person. This could also be the reason they ask them to stay and being afraid of letting them go.

They’re scared that the person they’re singing about, (most likely a suicidal lover), is going to leave them; by taking their own life.
BUTTERFLY EFFECT
The Butterfly Effect is related to Chaos Theory in which small changes can have a big impact in future. In these terms, it is possible to infer that touching the butterfly, as stated in the last line, can create complicated events, but the poetic persona insists on it since he could forget his reality for a moment.
The Butterfly Effect also relates to the Bangtan Universe, where Jin’s time travel has something change every time due to what he’s done in previous timelines, as depicted in the Save Me webtoon and MV’s.

Comparing them to “wind” and “dust”, while also talking about feeling hopeless as he is unable to reach them. A bias can change.. you know. I mean if I wanted to pick someone to have a conversation with... I would go with RM because his interests are so wide-ranging. As for someone who would bring up my mood: JHope. Someone to just chill with: Suga. Someone to put on my baseball team: JK. Someone to eat dinner with: Jin. Someone to sing me to sleep: V. But when I watch them perform... it's definitely Jimin.
It's true it's hard to dance and sing at the same time. Sometimes when you see them get sweaty and tired like that, they must've performed many other songs before. And the most interesting part is that they never lipsync in their live performances. They may have a backtrack to help when they dance a difficult move that requires concentration but other than that, they're fine. I'm writing this cuz BTS got a lot of hate from people and those who don't even know them well saying they can't sing Live or they lipsync in their live performances just to tarnish them. butterfly belongs to the album: the most beautiful moment in life pt2. The song was so well received that if I remember correctly bts had to remind the fandom that the title song was RUN. The general public thought that butterfly was their comeback but in reality it was just a promoted bside song.
Butterfly has another version that is heard in the prologue video in which there is no rap and only the vocalists are heard and to be honest this is my favorite version.
Other songs that in my opinion have this same quality are hold me tight, house of card, tomorrow, let me know, rain, spring day and so on. Great video

The grate thing about Doolset Lyrics, is not just they translations are very exacts and corrects, also they give you a context and references. A lot of BTS lyrics are relative to another of his songs, speaches from them, haters critics, etc. And Korean is very contextual, there's a lot of traditional sayings with specific meanings.

Butterfly is beautiful and an evergreen song. It touches our heart and soul when we listen to it. The lyrics is quite heartbreaking as it speaks about letting go or losing someone you loved be it from breakups, death or sickness. I watched a reactor and he was very sad after reading the lyrics. He felt related to this song coz it reminded him abt the passing of a close friend. That's why we love BigHit and BTS for producing songs that are relatable, have positive messages, inspiring, good vibes and even life changing for some ARMY.

I think your bias is V…(for his voice) but it’s true that you like a lot the personality of Namjoon…I don’t know. But the term Bias it’s different for each person. Usually the term bias is used to say which member you relate the most. But it’s difficult because you will have “fase”. It dipende also on your life…sometimes you need someone that listen to you so you maybe want to be friend with Jimin, if you are sad then maybe Hobi or Jin…while if you are in a moment when you need advice Yungi it’s the right person…something like that. You will know who really is your bias (if you will have one..maybe OT7..?) when you see that member in particular and you smile. Even if it’s a picture…it’s a feeling.
But the bias could be not only one. When you don’t know who is your bias then you will be OT7. But remember that every member of BTS has some things in commons with others. They learn to appreciate each other until the point they know all about each other. Some times they are “the same” but in different ways. They are different people that make a beautiful picture. For the moment you know only a little part of their personality and skills…so it’s difficult for you to be sure about your bias..it’s only the beginning. I personally think that a bias isn't necessarily who would you pick in a specific situation. My bias is J-hope but if i had to choose one member whos phone number i could get, it'd be Namjoon. I would love to have a conversation with him. And my answer would change depending on a situation. I think bias is more like a person who catches your attention or intrigues you the most, in one way or another, whether you like it or not. There's a saying that goes "you don't choose your bias, your bias chooses you" and i agree with it.

If I had to pick Butterfly the prologue mix would be my favorite BTS song. Of course I'd also say Magic Shop, Save Me, Black Swan, Ddaeng and so many others (probably 80 more) are my favorites but if I had to pick only one it would be Butterfly.

In terms of calling a close one... you will search for a thinker advise/perspective, and RM is not just a wise one, but he can offer really useful information through... poetry. And that means each conversation would not be just a valuable and reciprocal source of new meanings, but actually ...an act of art, a masterpiece 😉 There are plenty of reasons to find yourself being bias wrecked along the way... due to new personal context new information, and new personal experiences but... what would a thinker do? This was produced by Pdogg, one of their in-house producers that worked with them since the beginning. They are involved in writing and producing for most songs but they don't do it all by themselves. RM, Suga and JHope wrote their own verses (they allways do, except for a few songs-the english ones), and the rest of the lyrics were written by Bang PD (the mastermind behind BTS ) and 2 or 3 other writers from BigHit.
I think your bias is RM, but I also know you like Suga a lot lately so I'm not that sure :).
For me, bias is more complicated than what you described, but let's say it is the person I gravitate most when I see them all together.And while I'm fascinated with RM and relate to many things he said or did, most of the time I'm captivated by Jungkook. He just has something about him that for me is fascinating. He is endearing, cute and also powerful at the same time, wich is not something common. But I love them all, and each of them brings something different to the table.

There 2 versions of butterfly. The one you saw, and the prologue. The prologue doesnt inclide the rap parts and it's beautiful! You can check the live version of the prologue on their busan YTC concert.

My 2nd is Jin, because of his fun personality, his vocals, etc. But most definitely i am ot7 (one true seven) like despite of us having bias, you equally give support and importance to all 7 of them.

Although that situation isn't as accurate coz Jimin is my ultimate K-Pop bias but if I could only have one phone number, i would pick either Suga or RM coz they are the two whom i respect the most and I would love their insight on life and advice.
But I tend to gravitate towards every aspect of Jimin unintentionally or subconsciously. It's like you just highly anticipate his presence in every content of theirs you watch.

To answer your question, I think if you could have one member's phone number to chat casually, my guess is that it would be Yoongi. Mostly because I think you're similar to him in that cerebral way and you'd be facinated by the way he thinks and sees the world. Also I think you respect his brilliance so you would want to engage him in conversation. My second guess is Namjoon as a second choice if I'm wrong and it's not Yoongi.
I've never thought about having a bias in that way you described but it works. I adore all 7 members but if I did have to pick only one to chat with, I'd pick Namjoon. I could listen to him talk about anything for hours. He has so many interests and fascinating ways of seeing things. Usually I find the concept of biases hard to explain. It's just something that sort of happens. You don't pick your bias, your bias picks you. There's a sort of connection and kinship you might feel. As if you're drawn to a particular member in a unique way that's different from the way you like and appreaciate the others. It's not that you like the others less or dislike them, but the connection is different and it feels a bit more personal.
Often, people will realize that their bias is similar to them in a way that resonates on a personal level and they see a bit of themself in their bias. It may not even be the person you like most vocally, performance-wise or dancing-wise. Something still stands out about them that makes you have a soft spot for the person. I consider myself ot7 but I still have a bias among biases in RM.

I think RM is your bias but is that too obvious? The two most intriguing members for me are JK and Tae. They both have on stage personas which are very different to how they are in real life. They have said this themselves.
JK is very self critical. For once I just want him to say to himself 'I did well'! He is dominant on stage and submissive away from it.
I think Tae hides the most and, as you have seen, he is a great actor. He doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve and if Tae doesn't like you, you can feel it. JK and Tae can both transform.
Oh and Suga is my bias but JK/Tae are my wreckers.💜
I think Jungkook knows very well how good he is, his self criticism is something they all have in some degree and actually helped them get better and better. His Be-hind interview is a good example that he is well aware of his abilities. Also I don’t think he is submissive, you can hear many jokes from other members about Jungkook dominating/ disrespecting them (there are just jokes but derive from some behaviour/perception). He does not impose usually and often deferrs to the other members because of their culture, he is the youngest and they partially raised him, so he has so much respect for them and that maknae attitude is so ingrained in his behaviour that it comes across as “submissive “ sometimes.
But I do agree that him and Tae are the most intriguing, and are so different on stage versus off stage. I actually think their on-stage persona is part of their real personality, it is just not the main trait, or something they usually express, and the stage was the outlet for that part of them.
