    I miss the ski season. If your reading this, the season is close, we’ve almost made it!

    The hike itself is easy. It takes about 30 minutes. You can start at the top of either McConkey Express or Jupiter lift. McConkey is shorter but steeper. You don't need any special equipment, you can just shoulder your skis. It's worth going up there just for the view. The descent right off the nose is definitely for experts only but it is possible to ski back down the ridge-line toward McConkey and then take Georgeanna (blue) or Sundog (single black).

      Yeah. I def took the long way. I wanted to see if it would open up some other areas, but it really doesn't. The hike off McConkey is much shorter than from Jupiter. I got up there and was like, "uhhhh...that was dumb". Just an adventure while my son was in a morning lesson. Aside from the rocks (coverage was bad that year) it wasn't bad.

    I ski at park city all the time but I only ski on the canyons side. I can ski blacks like The Drop, Tranquility, and Sidewinder.

      Nice. This was before they were linked together. Haven't been back since, but I've heard Canyons is better.

      @daust 6 лет назад +1

      well I just went last weekend and got to go up to Jupiter for my first time. loved it. got about 19 inches while I was there, so the powder was pretty good. did scott's bowl and west face.

      AWESOME. March has been pretty awesome. We just got back from Mammoth. It was a blast. 3 days in the sun. It was kind of nice to get a break from being pounded on.

    I like the video man - nice. But... the skis on rocks KILLS me.

      I know. They actually survived that one. Earlier this year (2019) at Big Sky we were ducking in the trees for pow leftovers and they got really destroyed. I replaced them with the Line Sakana (same designer - Eric Pollard) and they are just fantastic.

    Did he hike all the way from the top of the Jupiter lift to the top of Jupiter peak??? I am wondering what the slopes look like on the way down from the Jupiter lift because I don’t want to hike.

    • @dikranovichk5889
      @dikranovichk5889 4 года назад

      Henry Wuebker, when you go left off the Jupiter lift, there is a 20 ft rise, then you ski along the ridge. If you want to ski the puma bowl, you have to hike pioneer ridge, which is no more than ten min walk. Dead tree and west face is where some of the best, freshest snow is.

    • @thefitclubnetwork
      @thefitclubnetwork  4 года назад

      I totally did. I was over lapping the Jupiter lift and it seemed quicker just to go along the ridge and hike a little than to go weave my way back over to McConkey. My son was in morning ski lessons and I was a little pressed.

    Just wanted to say, whenever I miss skiing, I come to this video. Something about it. Make more ski videos! Love them. Are you also about to die because of no snow? If you wanna check out my channel, I know I will be making about 5-8 videos this Christmas in Park city, so it would be incredible if you could check out my channel. Thanks for the vid

    Question: Obviously they're double blacks so they're difficult, but is there a path down from Jupiter lift that would be doable for a less advanced skier?

    • @thefitclubnetwork
      @thefitclubnetwork  6 лет назад

      It's not that tough.

    • @HeelBJC
      @HeelBJC 6 лет назад

      Are you referring to the one you took?

    • @thefitclubnetwork
      @thefitclubnetwork  6 лет назад +1

      Yeah. The route I took would only be marked as Double Black for the rocks. Coverage was really thin that year. With a big dump, it would all be covered up. Jupiter Lift generally is pretty challenging. It's mostly ungroomed terrain.

    • @HeelBJC
      @HeelBJC 6 лет назад

      Thanks, I'm looking to take that next step, but it's quite nerve racking to even get on Jupiter lift knowing it's double black or nothing.

      I’m 50 years old and been skiing for nine years, so I don’t know what it’s like to have a young fresh body and begin skiing as a child where skiing double blacks won’t even being an issue when you get older. I’ve never gotten past single black diamonds. Is it possible for me to even attempt to without falling down or getting hurt? And as for powder skiing, I couldn’t understand why people liked it so much, but the reason being is because I had cheap rental skis that were designed only for groomed runs, not wider ones.

  • @jaredwhite489

    Ya it’s a double black diamond of death. No thx.

    • @thefitclubnetwork
      @thefitclubnetwork  5 лет назад

      Nah. It's not that bad once you get past the rocks.

      it doesn’t seem hard to me and i only have been skiing for 9 days, but i can still do double diamonds.

      Dave Ward you didn’t really go the hard way, right off the decent ridge is expert, like two 8 - 14 ft cliffs, huge moguls, very steep, lots of trees, not to mention endless powder! in my opinion your way was boring and not as much fun.
