  • Croft is a village about 8 miles southwest of Leicester, and is on the Fosse way, the Roman road that runs from Exeter to Lincoln. The tower is in the Hinckley district of the Leicester Guild of Church Bell Ringers. The church is probably Norman in origin, and was restored in the 19th century using stone from the quarry in the village. It has a nave, north and south transepts, chancel, west tower, and south porch.
The ringing room is on the ground floor, with the arch being open to the rest of the church. The bells are very quiet to hear inside, as you can hear on the recording, which makes striking the bells accurately challenging. There are 6 bells, the tenor weighing 6-2-6 cwt. More details about the bells can be found here: dove.cccbr.org...
    A note on the ringing:
The method being rung is a touch of St Clements Minor, and was recorded during an outing in November 2021.
