Well done Julie and Mike. Healthy is important. Very brave cycling, walking, navigating the rough videoing self, coping with traffic, studying nature, remembering to identify locations, pressure washing, commentating like Murray, all simultaneously.
Be strong, be well and keep putting one foot in front of the other at all times!! Set backs come and go and you two are beating this together. Bravo to you both and thanks for the update. Cycle on 😀🚲🚲 Rod, from Canada
@rodc5765 thank you Rod 👌❤️👍 one day at a time.. I've only got one round left to get through. 🤞🤞🤞🤞 Really appreciate your support all the way from Canada 🍁🇨🇦
Julie, you are absolutely amazing! The end is in sight, you will absolutely do this and be back on your bike very soon. We are all willing you all the way ❤️💪❤️ Well done Mike, so hard when you get back to exercise after a break but you are still flying along 💪
Thanks for the comment Kate, the end is definitely in sight and we're both looking forward to getting back to fitness again, although we also realise that it may not be easy 🤣🚴♂
Well done Julie nice to hear round 3 is completed and good to see you on walkabout. I've just got back from the hospital after having a nerve condition test now need to wait and see the consultant again Any way well done excellent job yee haa Nice ride Mike im not forgetting you. Have a wonderful week all.
Well done you two! Making the effort to actually go out and do something is often the hardest part!! That time’s suddenly flown by for you Julie, can’t believe you’re so close to the end. And you look so well, even with a cold! 😀👏🏻👏🏻
@bicycleadventures2133 haha, Mike did a very good job of editing this! 🤧🥴 Just got to get through the next couple of weeks.... Then put this all behind me hopefully 🙏🤞❤️ Thank you Gill. 🤗
Good to see you both. Sorry to hear that round 3 has been a bit *r*p Julie. Must be very frustrating at times. I do think about you and your treatment a lot and am right behind you all the way. Great ride Mike. I just love mud! I'm sure you felt a million times better afterwards. You'll get there. Ps. I love your t-shirt Julie!😅
Sorry to hear you have had a rough time Julie and thanks for the honesty. Mike, you have been through such a lot recently with Julie, take it easy on yourself. ❤
Hang in there Julie. I found each round of chemo got harder, guess I was weaker from the prior. I have a port so I didn’t have the arm pain. After 9 rounds it took me about 6 months while exercising to gain some strength back. Be patient with yourself. Chemo is hard. Sending positive vibes. 🩷
@LornaT460 thank you Lorna 👍😀❤️ wow nine rounds! 😯 Glad you've got it behind you. 😊 I'll be glad when I'm through this last round (dreading it.. if I'm honest) and i can get on with finding my new normal! 👍
Julie, life's curve balls are coming at your hard. But, you are batting them out of the ball park each time. Keep up the good fight, we are behind you all the way.
Hi Mike please never say you are ashamed of a weight gain. You and Julie are going through a tough time. It's evident how much you both love each other and taking care of julie has been tough on you. You are out on a bike when you can . I use a spin bike when I am in the the same position with my wife. You are both bad assessment remember the challenge you did early dark cold mornings in the rain for 30 days straight. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers. You will get back to where you feel best and Julie will be yehawing when she kicks cancers butt. Bunkie
@frankgerner9822 thank you Bunkie. ❤️👌 I really hope your wife is recovering well from her op. 🤗🙏 I can't see that we will be doing a November challenge this year 😔 unless it's a sleeping challenge 🛏️💤😴💤 Maybe we can do a different challenge in the spring. 🤔 Open to ideas.... 😅💡
Julie just keep resting and you’ll be back on that bike next week! Look forward to seeing you out there and enjoying your rides please take care, we are all thinking of you 😊❤
Thanks for the update, Julie, sorry to hear that this latest round of chemo has been a challenge. One thing I do know is that your courage and poise throughout this ordeal have been inspiring, and I know you'll come out of this as good as new. Mike, I'm 63 now and my weight has been something I've had to deal with my whole life. I've got in under control now because health concerns forced me to. When stress gets the better of me I always seem to turn to the worst kind of foods, sweets, especially cookies and donuts, and I always seem to overeat them. It's a never ending battle, so I can relate. You and Julie have been dealing with a lot, but brighter days are ahead. I can also relate to what you said about riding your bike. I've been riding a lot this summer and the more I do it the more I realize how important it has become. It's always a challenge, but it clears my head and the benefits to my health are palpable. I always look forward to WAL videos. Cheers
@JohnBarrow1961 thank you John for sharing your journey too. Everyone does deal with stress in different ways. When all this is over both Mike and I will be looking at life differently and we'll be looking forward to a new normal. 👍🤔😉 I've only got one round left.... Just got to get through.... 🤞🤞🤞
Mike, I recommend a book, The obesity code by Dr. Jason Fung.. He has tons of videos on youtube if you don't want to read. I lost 70lbs at 60 years old. Remember, you have to stay healthy for Julie. Fantastic to see Julie out and about. Wishing you both the very best.
It's great to see you out and about, Julie. I escaped chemo, but my sister had similar side effects to you, together with up and down days. Your fighting spirit will pull you through. Mike, don't be hard on yourself. A few extra pounds will soon shift, and you'll be flying again soon. I've tried electronic shifting on a friend's bike, but until my shifters wear out or break, I don't see the point in replacing it. It's 105, so probably last forever 😂 Take care both 🤗
So good to see you Julie out again and going strong, chemo side effects can be hard but you're a Champion and we'll see you on a bike again soon! 👍 Electronic shifting is nice I'm getting a new bike with electronic shifting next week can't wait. 😊
Hey Mike I purchased a cycplus AS2 Pro Bicycle Tire inflator on your recommendation ,Wait for it !! It a great bit of ,very intuitive and very reliable, managed to get a huge discount too , Thanks fir the heads up ,cheers mate 👍
I have lived for 6 years in China before 20 years in the USA, I own a wheeltop eds tx with a 13 speed cassette, everything works very well and I am very satisfied .In China, the 13 speed 11-34 cassette is already produced and there is an announcement that in 3 months the xdr 14 speed 10-36 cassette will be released ,chains for 13 speed have been produced for a year, the same chain will be able to be used for 14 speed ,what is happening now in China in the bicycle industry is frame 650 gram with a fork 870-890 gram , formed two companies ltwoo and wheeltop that produce groups of high quality fixtures and applicable from 7 to 14 speed no need to buy a new flu when the cartridge manufacturer will release a cartridge for 13 or 14 speed. greetings from Shenyang China.
Thanks for the comment. Yes, some good stuff coming out of China, until now I had Sensah Empire 12 speed on a couple of the bikes and it proved to be very reliable. I expect good things from WheelTop EDS and so far so good 👍
Good to see you out and about again Julie! The chemo sounds awful, but one more round to go so look forward to getting it done 👍 (PS - love the T Shirt 🤣) Mike, don't beat yourself up about fitness etc, it is to be expected as you've had plenty of stress to deal with, and as you say, you'll be back! Nothing wrong with pressure washing a bike, even with a high powered washer, it's just being sensible with where you aim it and at what power. Both looking very colourful I notice, which was good as it looked pretty dull weather so you both stood out better 😅 Best wishes for Friday Julie!
Great to see you out and about Julie. Nearly on the home stretch and the finish line in sight, just get the one more session done and you will be flying again. Hubby needs you and your get up and go to get him fit again - putting on weight and huffing and puffing up the hills 😁. Mike that gravel looked hazardous at the start of your ride, well handled 👍🏼
Thanks Mike, For Making it very clear that when we have a few days off the bike we just have to get fit again. Now I know it's completely normal to be out of breath for the first couple of rides. Julie, hang on in there for that big almighty Yeehah. Btw Mike that's not a pressure washer as you could get simulator pressure from a hose with your thumb over the top of it? But at least your cleaning the bike mate. 👍🏻
next thing you know Mike you'll be lumpin along on an electric bicycle . hang tough Julie you're doin a great job. congrats on 4K subs , should be at least double that IMO Reply
