Cool footage - it is all about putting yourself in the right place and then a lot pot patience! I have and X-T5, maybe not so good for video (but good enough I hope - I can clean up 120fps sufficiently). Now subscribed - look forward to seeing more from you.
Hey mate, I use the Peak Design 45L. Works great with the Medium cube for camera and lenses. The Larger 150-600 can them site above it with a camera crap around it :)
Very lucky with the birdie shots Bernie, playing the patient game obviously pays off! I see there’s a local job in Wanaka advertised just this week and very tempted to apply and see what my chances are, doesn’t pay the best and getting over from Brisbane won’t be easy BUT having that stunning landscape and wildlife to shoot would be worth all the effort, I just need the job first. Can you put in a good word for me at the local REECE plumbing branch in town for me ? BTW…. I should be getting a healthy Tax return this year so that 150-600mm could be on my radar. May I ask what bag you use on your day hikes shooting? I recently purchased a Mindshift 180 rotation 50 litre Pro / Plus which would ideally suit the Wanaka area (wink wink-nudge nudge) I think I just might apply for that job after all
Great shots man! Just picked up the XH2S the other day, 150-600 is next on the "to buy" (currently using 70-300 with 1.4x teleconverter). Are you generally hand holding it when you're walking around/hiking?
great shots!! have you tried using a filter on this lens? I tried a cpl and completely destroyed the image, but I dont read anything about this around, but seems it doesnt quite work with filters?. PS. are you using a arca swiss mount on the arca swiss compatible lens foot?
Great shots! Still can’t believe Fuji went with f8 on a crop sensor just to save 0.5 lbs or so… I went with the Tamron 150-500 and love it. Although the Fuji edges out on autofocus & IQ, I couldn’t justify paying the extra $850 for slightly better performance while being 1/3-2/3 stops slower
Hey Mate, Thanks for your kind comments. Yeah I agree, I wish there was a faster telephoto option. It's a shame. But the weight saving does mean I can take this on long hikes into the mountains without any issue. All in all I would be happy to carry more weight if it meant a faster aperture. See what we get in the future. Surely a super telephoto prime is due. Great to hear you are enjoying the Tamron.
I am looking at moving to Fuji from canon and I always get confused here. So their XF 150-600mm is a true 150-600 on their aps- c cameras or is it a 150-600mm on full frame equivalent to 225-900 on a XH2-S. Just trying to work it out before I transition over
@@bernieshore I was actually shooting full frame with the R5. I love it. But I find lately I’m really enjoy the Fuji system and colors. Albeit the switch from full from to APS-C is what is making me hesitant. But that’s why I appreciate the example shots you put in this video. Looking at the XH2 or XH2S with the 23mm f1.4 (for everyday) and 150-600 for wildlife
Hi Bernie! Thank you so much for your video! I own XH2 and 150-600mm. I wonder have you tried shooting fast birds in flight with this combo? The birds like hummingbirds, swallows or kingfishers. How do you feel this lens performance? Thank you!
I've watched videos saying that xh2s' object tracking sucks. What does your experience say about this? Did the software updates work? I'm thinking of buying the camera. but this is bothering me
I went to Brasil end of Septrmber , to the great Pantanal. Using a H2S was such a pain, AF on birds flying is terrible. In addition, had massive issue with overheating even without filming or short sequences less than 5min. Such a shame !!!
Just to mention: contacted Fujifilm service and their reply was even more disappointing than the bad H2S AF performance. Their advice: switch off stabilization for short exposure times -- starting at 1/800sec on the 100-400mm. Ridiculous isn't it?
Hi, nice video! Did you or do you experience some back focus issues with your xh2s? I have a 70-300 and 100-400 + TL, and no matter what combination of lenses I use, more than 80 percent of pics are out of focus when ai is activated (birds, animals and ppl eye). Thanks
As much as I love Fuji (GFX) I have never seen an impressive shot from an APS-c Camera, sorry this is just my opinion. Poor seperation, flat images. Take any full-format of Canon or Nikon, with just a mediocre lens, it will blow this x system out of the water any day.... Fuji should finally bring ff system, just my opinion. The x-system might be great, the images are not...
so good that you show normal view and zoomed
Thanks for the feedback :)
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video Bernie. Really appreciate showing your stills and video settings. Curious what you use for AF mode and AF area settings?

Yeah its all patience and light I'm afraid. Have a great weekend and enjoy shooting
What backpack are you using in this video? Looks like it would be a good fit for this combo. I also have the X-H2S and 150-600 lens.

Why use an adapter plate instead of mounting the 150-600 with its integrated arca swiss plate on the foot?
I'm just wondering whether you have tried moving subjects with this "wildlife powerhouse combo"???

Hey there! Great question, this gives you a 225-900mm full frame equiv. It's a great lens. What body you using on the canon system?

May have to rent a 150-600 at some point. Keen to biff one onto the X-T4 for some video 👍👍
Oh it's definitely worth it, such great value. Wish I still had the XF200mm F2 though haha....maybe one day.
