Ribbon Cutting of the Verstandig Pavilion

Thank you for joining us for this historic event! 💝 Watch as we were joined by MedStar Health leaders, Philanthropist Grant Verstandig, Norah O'Donnell, managing editor and anchor of CBS Evening News, and others for a ribbon cutting ceremony of our new world-class facility at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
The Verstandig Pavilion officially opens on Dec. 10! 🏥
The Verstandig Pavilion includes:
• A new Emergency Department that has doubled in size with 32 private exam rooms; a designated "fast track" area for prompt treatment of less serious conditions
• 31 state-of-the-art operating rooms offering highly specialized surgical visualization and the latest minimally invasive and robotic equipment
• A movable interoperative MRI, the only one in the region, allowing neurosurgeons to precisely remove microscopic tumors, reducing the need for post op imaging and additional surgeries. With IMRIS, neurosurgeons can ensure the success of brain tumor resections while in the middle of an operation.
• 156 warm, welcoming private patient rooms with natural, healing light
• A rooftop helipad with direct access to the emergency and operating rooms to transport critical patients rapidly when every minute counts
