- My second trip for the 2024 Roar - Chad & I head deep in to the Pureora Forest on Public land in New Zealand to try track down a big Red Stag.
Chad managed to get a nice bush stag in Part 1 of our trip - Let's see how the rest of this mission unfolded!

Thanks for awesome footage!.
That stag at the end was gold roaring at the machine flying over him
That was quite good aye, was a really cool stalk that one! That chopper was flying in the party that I spoke about on that clearing.
Yep another good one, well worth the effort to edit and post, very enjoyable, thanks for posting.
Sorry for the lack of action after the cliffhanger in part 1 😅
Thanks for watching Phil 👍
@@SSRhys no need to apologize, that's the reality of bush stalking without a good dog, and hunting in general. You still made an excellent video.
Cheers mate! I need to get onto editing the next one.
Really enjoying your videos, keep them coming 👍
Thanks Richard, appreciate it mate. Glad you enjoy them, cheers!
Nice couple of vids man. I recognise that country well. That pig was dead under that tree when I went passed mid March. Was a few dead like that around those clearings. Lots of live ones too. Not many deer though.
Thanks mate! Oh thats a card case, we were in 2nd week of April. That's only our 3rd time in there, it's cool country! Yeah we certainly didn't find an abundance of deer over the week.
Hey bro really enjoyed part 1 and glad I didnt have to wait too long for this one. Havent been back these ways in a while.
Hey mate, glad I didn't have to keep ya hanging too long! Sorry for the cliffhanger in part 1 haha. Cheers for watching bro!
Another good one cheers
Thanks Graeme!
excellent video ,even though there was"nt that much action ,you still made it enjoyable to watch
Thanks for that! It's always hard to do a video that has no real hunting action, and often I just don't make them. Glad you enjoyed it, cheers!
Yeah! As I commented on Part 1...@ 5:00 you guys were roaring at each other, hey!
That would have been a good laugh! But nah I just chased the same stags that Chad already had that afternoon.
Great video
Cheers Azza 👍
Epic few hunts mate. Iam also a T1 diabetic, have you ever tried the scanners for testing ya blood sugars? Thy been a game changer for me , expensive but thy are subsidised after Oct 1st. Keep it up mate 🤙
Cheers mate! Oh really, have to have a catch up one day and spin some yarns about it. Yeah I usually use the libre when I'm hunting, I must have run out and hadn't ordered them for this hunt. But yeah they're bloody awesome aye! Which one do you use?
Yeah I'm looking forward to that, will be handy!
@@SSRhys yea I also use the libre scanners.
They're great aye! Are you also on a pump?
@@SSRhys na no pump. I tried a pump a few years ago but it got knocked around to much on the farm . Iam on a waiting list for a new kidney transplant so thy are going to chuck a new pancreas in at the same time so I won’t have diabetes in the end. Will be a big change after having it for 35 years.
That's a bummer! I didn't have a pump back when I was farming, but I wouldn't go back to not having one now.
Wow that's crazy, that'll be great when you get both of those - life changing for sure! I didn't even realise that a pancreas transplant was a thing.
Hey bro, wicked video cheers.👌😁
Wondering what rifle/ caliber you use for your roar hunting?
Do you have a bigger one for the roar or use the same caliber all year round for everything?
Thanks heaps.🤙
Thanks mate 👍
I use my Tikka .284 in this video for most things, so my red and sika hunting all year round including the roar. I use a Tikka .223 for fallow. So nah nothing different for the roar.
Hunting for big games isn't easy
Every Hunters might know about that! The same as US..
The challenge is all part of the fun aye!
