Love the non-blue note theme. Been a long-time follower of your Instagram account which has opened me up to some great records I haven't heard previously, and your RUclips channel is just as good. Keep up the great content.
Quite true. A great pianist with quite the interesting history as well. I have a copy of his Will-O-The-Wisp on the Counterpoint label as well as Today on Mint Records, but I'd love to find his earlier 10" releases.
So happy to see Haig mentioned. I have a 10 inch disc of him , and a 12 inch album with a; plain white jacket. Both filed away, of course Ḃut, I finally have access to my 10 inch stuff.
Hello, I have had some luck with using Goo Gone on album covers, like that Rollins cover with masking tape like that. Plus that fact that the front cover is laminated might help.
I’ve had two super clean copies of that Pharoah record over the years..both purchased for under $100 and both flipped for 3 or 4 times that. Of course had I kept them longer I would have made a lot more! I think the singing killed my buzz for this record…
There is a very good chance Jazz on beacon hill and watkins at large will be a Tone Poet. Joe Harley kinda hinted at it. Could be a good shootout video for 2023, let see and hope for the best! Another hint is that the Japanese did a reissue of this one in 2012 from the analogue tapes so this just proves that the tapes are readily available and in use.
9:25 file this channel under topics I am VERY interested in but have never been able to finish a video because of the motion sickness from constant uhs & ums 🥴🤢🤢. It’s a miracle I made it to 9:25 I really love the guy’s system and clearly he has very very good taste in music/collecting.
When I started my Instagram handle, I had just started working at UPS and thought the former slogan was a good fit with my last name (Brown) so it was simply a reference to both. Over time and as I changed the focus of my handle to be vinyl (it used to just be for posts about anything) I realize it makes less and less sense. But at this point, I figure I can’t change it
Not at all, it’s a well known store, one of the biggest in the city. I just didn’t want them to know they made such a major error because it would make it awkward any time I go in to shop
Funny lookin trombones on that Warhol cover 😆

thanks!
I would imagine old copies of Al Haig records would be quite the find. He was an excellent pianist who many people today have forgotten.

I am discovering new artists and albums every couple weeks from your vids and IG. Thanks!!
You're welcome, thats why i like interacting with the vinyl community as well - so much to learn!
Really interesting video. Several titles I don't recognize, especially those on the Transition label. Thanks, Chris
2 of these are in my top 3 don’t buy when I had a chance locally regrets. Didn’t know values/prices would go through the roof.
very cool,jazz albums,you have!
Your channel came across my feed. Enjoyed your video. I’m just acquiring a few jazz reissues. Just getting into it. Well done
Thank you! and good luck, it's quite the fulfilling journey from my perspective!

Hey! Great vid. Question - where did you get those downbeat reference books?? Would love to have some of those.

I really enjoy your videos! Just curious, what’s the meaning / story behind the name of your channel?

You should do a room tour with your hifi setup.
I've got a video on that actually

Cool list. Which turntable/stylus do you have that plays 16 rpm?
Thanks! It's a Elac Miracord 630. I suppose there are modern tables that can adjust to any speed with a peripheral power unit as well.
Did you not say the name of the store becasue you don't want people getting good deals?

@@jazzvinylcollector I get that for sure. :)
