  • Fitting a Craig Solar panel to my Eriba 430GT. This is a 200 watt panel and it was dead easy to install, taking about 2 hours in total and fitted a Wanderer Li 30A PWM Charge Controller.

I would’ve placed a stand alone solar panel outside the caravan …then taken a cable through the floor or through a window....to keep my roof as standard…i would try though to avoid this modification altogether..

That's your choice , its my van and l doubt very much l would ever keep it standard ,already thinking of adding another panel. l do have a stand alone fold out panel, but have not required to use it just yet.

I wouldve done a small pilot hole straight through and carefully drilled from both sides to avoid bursting through roughly..

Is the roof going to leak?

No its not going to leak , we had to endure some heavy storms at the base of the Pyrenees and we had no leaks, I never expected any, its all good.

@@Baggyarse i would have drilled the floor and glued the cable outside up the wall to the roof…
