Pretty neat walking into my local scheels and seeing a lure kiosk with your face on it! Keep it up! Love the videos!

I watch tons of your videos I've fished for years and I'm still learning how to fish a river that has walleye year round and the lure and jig strategy is always changing some days they crush everything and some days it will be consistent shad color plastic or hard bait stick and cranks .

The itch for walleye under the ice is real. Watching you tom makes me want to fish fr

I know forward facing sonar is a bit controversial, for some, but what a great learning tool...to be able see how your bait moves and to see how fish relate too it is huge from a learning curve perspective. Thanks again Tom for the great content!

Hmmm, what’s controversial about it? I don’t have one but am curious.

The people who don’t like ffs, don’t have one. If and when ya ever use one, you won’t want to ever fish without it.

I know I'd love it if I could learn it. Old guys aren't real good with technology lol😅😅😅

@@earlshannon1048 I’m an old guy too but I’m thinking about rigging my Vexilar flasher transducer to a piece of pvc pipe so that it faces outward. Bore a hole in the pvc and stick a dowel through it so it will hang in the hole. Spin it around to see what’s out there. A lot cheaper than a $2500 gadget, if it works.

That thin of ice(anything less than 10") just drill 2 holes right by each other when using live imaging, the fish will come back to the area after the noise is done. This makes life way easier.

Thanks for all the great info Tom. I'm 62 years old and went ice fishing for the first time last year and am hooked. I'm getting the gear and have alot to learn.
Scheels gives these sizes in the Hyper T. What size did you use here in this video?
    HT1 Size 1 #10 Hook
    HT2 Size 2 #8 Hook
    HT3 Size 3 #6 Hook

No ice here in PA yet. Some buddies and i bought the new acme beaver dam rods with the titanium tip that slides in and out. Have you used those for pan fish? Will you have a video using those?

Have you had a chance to try the new vrod (the 1/8)? It just seems to want to flip upside down and hook the line. Can't seem to get any action out of it. Just can't get that blade bait flutter. 8lb fluorocarbon.

Sir, quick question, what length cord are you running from the head unit to the pole, I am having a hard time finding a shorter one, it seems like the shortest is about 10'. Your set up maybe the same however it looks like you are better managed than I am right now. Always appreciate the videos and the tips/tricks.

Maybe a clinch knot to that kinda has that style of wetting the line. Make a loop 6-7 wraps around tail end back through the loop wet the leg and pull it tight.
