  • Hi there! Welcome back to my channel, all about finding joy while learning to live well with autoimmune disease.
Please make sure you subscribe to my channel - thank you so much, it helps my channel to grow and lets you know when I post new videos!
In this video, I share my biggest tips for how to lower stress now. Why? Stress is not only an autoimmune trigger, it can also cause a whole host of other health issues.
It is incredibly important to lower stress in order to optimize important body processes such as digestion, healing, and detoxification.
So many people think the autoimmune protocol is only about the way we eat - about nutrition. However, the AIP is a healing nutrition protocol as well as lifestyle protocol.
If you are new to the autoimmune protocol, it is also known as AIP, and it is a healing nutrition and lifestyle protocol specifically designed to help those of us with autoimmune disease, chronic illness, and high levels of inflammation to find relief from our symptoms.
Reducing stress is, in my opinion, a huge piece of the AIP. In fact, stress is often the reason someone does not feel better on a healing protocol.
I'll post links below to a few videos that will help you if you are new to AIP.
I know that living with autoimmunity and chronic conditions can be incredibly stressful. It was for me, and it sometimes still is. This whole "finding joy while learning to live well with autoimmunity" thing is not a perfect science, and it's a learning process with ups and downs and in betweens.
And that's okay. This is not about being perfect or about conforming to some protocol perfectly.
This is about our lives. This is about showing up as the best version of ourselves, no matter what that looks like. It's about trusting our faith and that God is allowing us to have these experiences so we can learn, grow, and become better versions of ourselves, become better instruments in His hands, show our kids what it looks like to face challenges.
Do we become angry, bitter, and hopeless? Maybe. I know I did for awhile at my rockbottom, and that's okay. That was a part of my journey, and it may be a part of yours. But let's not sit in that.
Let's stand up, and choose to find gratitude, meaning, purpose, hope, a growth mindset, and underneath it all rely on our faith. It's not easy. It's one of the hardest things I've ever done. But it's worth it.
It's worth it. Don't give up. Sending you so much love and support! Have a wonderful day, and I'll see you again soon in my next video where I'll dive into practical tips for reducing stress. Big hugs!

On a scale of 1-10 (10 being incredibly stressed), what are your current stress levels? What can you start doing today to help reduce stress and get to feeling better? I'd love to hear! Big hugs!

I'd say definitely a 10. I finally changed my diet due to psoriasis in January and so far it hasn't let up. I'm trying to go outside and take deep breaths daily. Drinking enough water.

@@alvina7797 So sorry to hear you are under so much stress! In my experience with clients, stress is often the culprit when someone doesn't feel better on a healing nutrition protocol. It's a tricky thing because living with a chronic condition IS stressful, so often times managing stress takes extra work. And time. It's usually not an overnight process. Love that you are getting outside, taking deep breaths, and drinking water! Keep up the good work, and keep fine tuning as needed as you listen to your body. Rest can be huge too. Big hugs! You got this.

Your story sounds a lot like mine. I have Hashimotos and celiac. I also have exercise intolerance.

Yes! I also love doing a freezing cold shower now and then - super refreshing! Okay, maybe I don't love it during the cold shower, but I love how I feel after ;)
