This reminds me of a really cool short. In this small western town the pastor is evil (surprise surprise) and runs the town through fear. A villager sees Death and freaks out. In their fear they start killing each other and the pastor gets hung in the gallows. Death is there and pays no attention to chaos around him (or them? Does Death have a gender?). He just goes around and cataloging all the dead. @ThatCreepyReading goes deeper into it and the symbolism. I forgot which video it was. But go watch his channel his videos are awesome and gives a really cool perspective on it.
Makes sense that he doesn't like the idea of an apocalypse. If literally everything dies, like EVERYTHING ceases to exist there's no more death. I'm sure death likes to kill some people from time to time, but not always

I am really happy with James’s design of Death. Not even a deadly villian, just a chill guy doing his job, it made him so wholesome 😂

He talked about the original plot of Oddballs and I say it was going to be more of a dark humor/surreal comedy show, but since Netflix saw that most of James fans were kids they decided to include the show on their (I think failed) "After School" brand of shows for kids
That, sadly, limited the show a lot, I know a kids show can be more than just that (for example, Bluey), but this show wasn't the case and Netflix is partially to blame for that
I loved Oddballs. I thought it was hilarious.

If you think about it, Death is technically the leader of the Four Horsemen, since all the others(Plague, Famine, and War) all cause death, which means that Death is technically their leader!

Random interesting fact, in the original scriptures of the four horsemen pestilence is not one of em, conquest was considered the first then war, then famine, and finally death, but scholars decided to interpret conquest as pestilence because of how similar war and conquest are to each other, pestilence was more of deaths thing along with sword famine and the beast of the earth.
I always like it when Death isn't shown to be the villian. Death is just a natural part of the cycle of life, and the figure of Death is really just doing his job.

I love this story, it talks about how a normal person will hang out with their friends who want them to do things the person dislikes, and it makes one feel a lot of peer pressure… Happens a lot in real life
