I'm watching this with my 12yr old granddaughter (who has been sewing since she was 7 😊) & we both just love this!! I helped her, her 10yr old & 6 yr old sisters make coasters for their teachers for Christmas. She & the 10yr old sewed theirs, I sewed the 6yr old's. We also had strips they sewed to gift tags-like you would a string quilt. I cut the string of strips into a triangle shape so they would look like trees. We packed the goodies in white lunch sacks & I attached the tags with ribbon to the outside of the sacks! I just told her if I remember, we can make these next year!! Thanks again for another wonderful idea 💗
@@mildredmartinez8843 I'm glad I got the notification that you commented! I'd forgotten about these! I'd saved the pattern, but just now printed it off to remind me 😊😊
If there was a vote for best instructors on how to make projects Jen should win. Her tutorials are so clear in instructions on how to do the projects she makes you comfortable on approaching the project not shying away. Shabby fabrics keep doing what you do you are wonderful. Love your tutorials..🙂
A few of your videos appeared in my YT feed over the last couple of weeks. I am really enjoying the projects.Your instructions are clear and the overhead views are very helpful. I can't wait to make a dozen of these trees tomorrow to tie onto the gift bags and other gifts going under the tree.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I'm going to make a few right now and add them to the tops of my cookie tins as a bow. I just love watching you, you're wonderful Jen !! Have a very merry and blessed Christmas. Love Carrie from Alaska.
I am saving this to my RUclips library so that I can go back and create these for next year. This looks like so much fun! One of the other commenters suggested doing embroidery around the edges of the circles before you fold them and I thought that would be a great idea. Then my sparkle-loving mind thought wouldn’t it be great, once these ornaments are constructed, to randomly apply the tiniest little crystals around the tree to make it look like lights are on it. It might be hard to find crystals that size, but I know I’ve seen them when shopping for crystals at sewing expos. Obviously that step would have to occur after the sewing so that you don’t run the risk of hitting a crystal with the needle. Thanks for this little tutorial.
After I fold the circles in half and fuse together, I use pinking shears around the "half circle"...it gives a bit more texture and only takes an extra minute or two!! Great attached to a gift for a bit extra instead if a bow or ribbons!
I made several of these cute ornaments. I ironed on the Heat N Bond and then cut the fabric circles out with my Cricut cutting machine! Thank you for the great video and download!
Jennifer, love these Christmas trees. I have added super chunky glitter glue, from hobby lobby or anywhere else, taking it up another notch. It is sparkly and easy to
Happy that you love this project! That is awesome! I bet they are even more gorgeous with the glitter on them! Thanks for your support and comment! - Abby
These are so cute. Unfortunately I’m out of holiday material. Had used it up for craft items. But I have Christmas scrapbook paper. So I made a sample out of the paper. I can sew it or glue it down. Was thinking of putting a ribbon down the back on the paper and up to make a loop. It came out looking like the material one. I would still like it with the fabric. Thank you for the idea.
I've made your quilted ornaments and quilted trees already and your clear instructions showed me that they were really easy to make and I did that. Now, I can't wait to make these too! Sew very nice and easy, peasy! Thank you very much for all you do! LOVE your videos!
This video showed up at just the right time. While cleaning my sewing room, I sorted all the Christmas fabric scraps and was thinking about what to make with some of them. Now I know....perfect project for during the year. I can see giving lots of them to nursing home residents, family and friends, and other local groups. Such a fun way to use fabric that is too beautiful to stay in a drawer. Thanks for the tutorial.

You can stuff a cotton ball up inside of the smaller circle to keep the rest open! I love making ornaments for my special small tree for my sewing area!
Another great gift idea. I'm also hooked on the Cathedral Window hot pads. Thank you again for all your great tutorials. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
How fun. I am going to use the template and make a few of these. I find myself unreliable with those circle cutters. However using the template will be just as good Thank you so much, I am having a lot of fun making the ornaments this year. Thanks so much for your generous sharing
@@ShabbyFabrics This turned out so cute! I simply sewed around the template using a newspaper print pattern and that worked out really well to get a good circle. I cut out and decorated the circles, then constructed the tree and put a star bead along with the holder to add to the tree. Very cute and easy and it is so precious. Have a wonderful holiday.
I bought one of those circle cutters last fall when I was trying to qualify for free shipping at wawak. I love it and I love this little project. I'm looking forward to making some. Thanks.
