    I have almost pulled the trigger on this watch multiple times! Trust me I appreciate its horological importance I just can’t justify the size and I’m not huge in the date window, but now that the 43mm (no date) version leaked I’m gonna wait till January🤙🏼the panda looks stunning

      yeah i had to send it back sadly, what a bummer, really thought it would wear like a 42 like everybody said. Absolutely not ! So sad, i really wanted it...

    Important FYI : This review is for the original 96B258 - 45 mm Bulova Lunar Pilot that came out in 2016. It is not for the newer 43 mm version that came out in 2023. Great review!

    It’s a fantastic watch. However, I wear mine, on the black strap, with a suit. It’s a little too formal for really casual wear. It is a great timepiece.

      Hi Danen, you see, really interesting, you wear this watch in a formal way, I would never do that, which shows one thing, the way people are doing things differently according to their own perception. There is not one but many schools of thoughts. I like that, so wear it like you wear it, this is you ! Thanks for sharing..

    I have a Bulova Precisionist 96B349 I wear as a dress watch and after wearing that my Lunar Pilot feels like a little watch. lol

      Hi Michael, yeah sadly they are all kind of "big", mainly because of the incredible movement. The movement is big, wich is probably why they will never create a 40mm version. Honestly even with a different movement i would buy it in 40 mm case ! Thanks for sharing my friend :).

    Fully agree with you. very beautiful watch.. i wanted to buy it until i tried it on my wrist. i really don't understand why not make a 40mm version

    • @thehandsontime
      @thehandsontime  Год назад +1

      Hi, thanks for your comment, the answer is simple, it's true i did not mention it in the video, my bad. It's the size of the "movement my friend", it's a big movement. But if they created it with another hi beat quartz, or even better with an automatic in the 40mm size i would buy it. Cheers.

      @@thehandsontime true, but in all these year, for an iconic well marketed watch like this, an effort of reengineering could be made 😄

    Why are there so many watches that are extremely big? I don't get it. My wrist is average size and it seems like at least half of men's watches look too big. This way he takes the cake.

    • @thehandsontime
      @thehandsontime  Год назад

      I agree a hundred percent ! But the tendency is getting back to normal sizes hopefully, but for that watch the problem is the "movement", it is too big ! That is why there is no 40mm version...

    I traded my 45mm for the 43mm panda, good decision.

    I would definitely wear this with a suit with the leather strap, but I’m a big guy with almost 8” wrist so I think it may work?

    • @thehandsontime
      @thehandsontime  9 месяцев назад

      are you kidding me, but of course it would work, with an 8 inch wrist sky is the limit 👌. Even on the stainless steel bracelet, just not on the nato (the original is ugly). But yeah, steel, leather, or a beautiful omega type nato, it would absolutely work !

    I love this watch on video and photos, that said I've tried it on my wrist and I have a wrist that is large 8.5" but what stops me is the watch always looks cheap to me. The subdial hands are very basic, it's not got the wow factor up close IMO.

    • @thehandsontime
      @thehandsontime  Год назад

      too big for my wrist and even for some "above", i really think 18.5 or even 19 cm is a minimum for it not to look like a tank on you wrist. Honest opinion...
