10:50 Made a similar mistake in one of my games. Told the party the city they were in had no laws on what could be bought or sold there, including slaves. I did this to highlight how corrupt the city was, not even considering the possibility that a player would immediately try to purchase one. I didn't allow it, but did find myself in a situation where I had to put a wall on something I myself said was possible.

Human fighters are heroes built for a destiny. King Arthur was a human fighter, you could argue Robin Hood to be a human fighter. Goblin Slayer is a human fighter. The power of a character is in how you play them. Build up the idea of a prophecy or destiny you’re meant to fulfill, and how you’ve had to work harder and smarter to stand at the same level as magic users and divinely ordained characters. Have your character be the first awake to practice drills, or spend any downtime honing themselves.

Wouldn't Robin Hood be a human rogue? The rest I can definitely get, but Robin Hood seems like a thief archetype rogue to me. Guess he could also be a fighter with good thievery skills tho

No way Robin Hood is a fighter have you seen his armor choise? That's not something a fighter with proficiency out of their arse would go for.

@@robinheinemann1740 Dex-based fighter with leather armor. Giving him maximum shots and improved critical to make those arrow crits. I more wanted to instill the idea that fighters are those with humble beginnings that rise up and take hold of destiny to do great things. I know that Rogue also fits, but Fighters seem much more like group leaders, rather than Rogues being more of an individual, and what's Robin Hood without his Merry Men?

@@MorningDusk7734 sounds like something the rogue's many skill proficiencies would be much better for with the expertise ontop

Built myself a fighter in some of my more recent games. Not human ones, a genasi and a wood elf actually. But still fighters. I gave them differing personalities despite them playing in the same world and having rolled up nearly identical hometowns, family dynamics, and important events of their lives. So yeah, your fighters can and do have wildly differing paths I think, if you make it so. I will say this much. Both caught the interest of gods. I will not say either is a champion of said gods but they are being observed in each, even if by different ones. Funny enough, both somehow came to be under the same faction which I find hilarious. It was not my intent but worked out that way. But again I think this goes to show how you can make a fighter and it not be remotely the same person, even if it looks like that on paper. End of the day, dnd is about more than what is on the paper.

Giant Egg + Scales + Cave = most likely a dragon of some sort. The feathers are weird, I admit. Regardless, any sort of cave dwelling creature that lays eggs the size that they seem to be talking about is something that should not be trifled with.
