I just love that we still have these beats in 2020. I’m still waiting to find my ideal F10 M5. I’m old enough to warrant a 4 door, and an 11 second luxury car is more than fast enough for me! (Plus I still have my Mustang Cobra from 1996 with a mod or two)
Can we mention how all 3 of these cars are engineering masterpieces in their own aspects? The BMW is yet another addition to a line of great cars. The polestar is very unique. The mustang is just pure nasty American power. All three are amazing in their own respects
Kind of true up to a quarter mile. Example Agera RS(twin turbo V8 1360hp RWD) vs Bugatti Chiron (quad turbo W16 1500 hp AWD) chiron could beat Agera RS to a quarter mile drag.... But what after that? Agera RS better acceleration....
That first one was actually a very impressive launch for the Mustang. Just enough slip to smoke a little but still a lot of traction. The 2nd one definitely deserved another shot.
I would get the GT500 as well but I wonder how the Polestar would be if it was 1200lbs lighter. It seems to be quite the luxury car but it goes against the NSX and Lexus LC500? They could've went a little more sporty i think

GT500 didn't hook at all, specially on the 2nd race & it was still called as best as it gets! at least from the video it looks like a spin, bogged down & then acceleration, lowering rpm should help.
That's not saying much when you can buy 2 GT500's or 3 GT350's for that price lol. They ruined that launch on the Mustang really bad though, you can see the burnout. The GT500 is faster in the quarter when hooked up properly. Either way the GT500 would still beat it around a track. Kind of ironic when a German car is good in a straight line and an American car is faster on the track

@@ishra8926 GT500 hasn't gone on the Nurbergring, but has beaten every GT3 RS on pretty much every major track in NA. It would definitely beat an M8 considering that lol. And on a high speed track like the Nurbergring the GT500 would walk the M8 easily. Look up the track times on NA tracks.
M8 is a beast. See a lot tuning the platform on the new M5 but not really seen anyone do it to the M8. Would love to see even. Stage 1 tuned M8 to see what difference it makes.
Yet you'd still ultimately be driving the same car as Hannah in her 25k ecoboost with eyelashes on the headlights. All mustangs are just basic cost cutting cars with big engines. The other two are not.
The m8 is a gt car. It’s night and day difference in drive ability and comfort compared to the Shelby. That’s really what you are paying for is luxury.

You could literally sit there and stare at an M8 for hours.. it’s fast, all year around car, more practical. The Surround sound system, technology, the luxury.. the M8 is a completely different car. And if you really know your cars, the competitors for this car is actually 30k base price more than the M8, it’s competitors.. AMG GTor 911, Panamera are all 170k plus while the M8 isn’t. M8 is priced really nicely. Only people who don’t know or understand the car say it’s not worth the price. A BMW takes more than just a review to understand. You need to be able to actually get behind the wheel, live with it for about a week, then you’ll see if you actually value it. Most people change their minds after a week, BMWs are complex cars a review or a day with it won’t benefit you or give you a good satisfaction. The M8 for its weight around the track is absolutely ridiculous, the usability for everyday things is great. It’s just as fast entry level to mid level Supercars, the paint work is excellent, it’s quality. You get in the car, the smell, the texture the sound of you closing the door, the materials you touch everything soft, no creaks like a Ford. This isn’t a regular car people are use to.
@@davidwade7681 The V8 S63TU is pretty reliable when taken care of, BMW over the years have updated the S63 common problems - hence the “tu” in S63. No more rod bearing issues, fires or anything. I’ve seen 140k out of an S63 in a X5M, owner says more technical issues than mechanical, he says only spent $800 in repairs within the last 8 years since ownership. And I don’t know who puts 140k in a Luxury 2 door sports car. These cars aren’t beaters, the problem is mostly owners who think BMWs are regular cars to maintain. These are performance cars.. you have to take care of it, same with the mustang or anything over 400HP with turbos / Superchargers.
Good content but I’ve seen Mustangs owners play with the setting and beaten m8cs from a dig. It’s just not a car you get in a drive. You gotta get use to it. TC off change rpm and a few other techniques than just smashing the gas which causes that wheel spin. It can be done but you gotta tinker it

@@lucille8302 i don't think so.... i think both would be even if they gt500 is launched properly..... there is a half/whole sec delay with its launch system and you also have to find the right RPM....... but with that being said, the BMW is just a easier car to drive all together (it better be for the price tag).....
In Germany the Mustang isn‘t that much cheaper. Anyway I love the purity and sheer power of American muscle cars and maybe Iam just too old for all those modern car gadgets. I own an M8 Competition - and to be honest, it‘s a really fantastic car - , surely a much more refined and better built car than Mustang or even a Hellcat. But sometimes almost too perfect…

Not sure I get the GT500, is it a drag car or a track car? What kind of lap times does it do? As a pure drag car it might do ok on slicks, but on street tires or on the street it doesn't seem to hook that well.

The shelby GT500 base model actually weighs less than 4,200lbs and its around 4,187lbs. The carbon fiber package GT500 weighs 4,056lbs

The track is a little short for the GT500 to really show what it’s got.
It's the base model version not the GT500 carbon fiber package track version which has stickier tires and more downforce.
The GT500 would have hunted down the M8 and game over.

Ford should try to make it, also with rear wheel drive... look at Porsche... GT2RS ist beating everything, it also has just Rear Wheel drive.

I'd like to see the same test on an actual drag strip so you mostly take traction out of the variables and go to power and power placement

All wheel drive is what saved the BMW hands down plus it cost twice as much. Give me the GT500 and 2000.00 for a CAI tune and tire, we can play all day. The M8 is not beating me...😂

@@lucille8302 i don't think so.... i think both would be even if they gt500 is launched properly..... there is a half/whole sec delay with its launch system and you also have to find the right RPM....... but with that being said, the BMW is just a easier car to drive all together (it better be for the price tag).....

In Germany the Mustang isn‘t that much cheaper. Anyway I love the purity and sheer power of American muscle cars and maybe Iam just too old for all those modern car gadgets.
I own an M8 Competition - and to be honest, it‘s a really fantastic car - , surely a much more refined and better built car than Mustang or even a Hellcat. But sometimes almost too perfect…

As a pure drag car it might do ok on slicks, but on street tires or on the street it doesn't seem to hook that well.

@@briantye110 watch Dragtimes video vs an M8. Of the four races it was split 2-2 between the cars. Driver makes a huge difference.
@@danielvisintainer3352 totally agree Daniel on a prepped drag strip in the right conditions the Shelby would be a beast. In the real world at the traffic lights the mustang would not see where the M8 went whilst trying to put that power down.
