I really want to buy a GT500, but the markups are so insane. I don't want a GT350, great car, and can get them at a really good price right now. I'll be patient and get my GT500, but I won't pay 100k. Oh, the GT500 isn't about the interior, it's that big honkin' motor and the performance.

You've never driven a BMW M car then. These guys obviously didn't know that you can change to RWD only and into Drift Mode on the M8 Competition as it doesn't have to be in AWD all of the time. Also, I live in Canada where it's snow/ice 6 months of the year. That Shelby, no matter how "fun" as you put it, is going to be complete garbage. The M8c on the other hand, is perfect for winter, fall, spring and summer driving. Nice review.. we all want that BMW but the Mustang is somewhat affordable. i looked into it, typical US spec with zero $ down for 5 yrs is over $1500 a month.. ouch! now consider the BMW at double the price. The Polestar is not a muscle car, looks sterile and nobody shopping for a muscle car would even put that ugly thing on their list.
I would take the M8 for overall performance and quality feel. The M1 and M2 buttons make it easy to launch and the electronic dashboards give it a modern look and feel. Best value is easily the Shelby GT500 and if Ford actually made the interior components TOP quality along with making the drag strip mode a one button preset, like the BMW, it would easily be the top pick over all 3. Perhaps if they made it AWD, the extra power could go to the front wheels which may keep the car from spinning as much off the line.
That GT500 is half the price for a reason, costs have to be cut somewhere. For 10k$ you can get a custom interior stitched up at a shop. The GT500 is also the fastest track car surprisingly. The M8 is really only better on short unprepped drag races, performance wise at least. Gorgeous interior though.
@@chadingram6390 at this level of performance and pricing, Ford should not have to cut costs at all. Make something that is world class quality.
