That 6 speed trans is a parallel shaft multi-clutch plate transmission. Operates just like manual, only with a torque converter and pressure solenoids. I think it’s Honda/Acura’s best auto transmission as far as sportiness.
these 9th gen v6 are the best, even better in the coupe version with the HFP kit looks amazing. I have the 9th gen coupe v6 and have had no issues at all, only have done oil change and im at 135k miles. Never ever check engine. I did do my v6 timing belt kit late also around 125k and didnt even need to do it. Every part on the timing belt kit was still working fine and smooth so i did it just incase. This Accord is the best one made in my opinion. The 9th Gen Accords are so beautiful, and the ones equipped with that 3.5L J35 V6 are potent in acceleration. I think you can do 0-60 in like sub 6 seconds which is so fast for a family sedan. Even the 2.4L K24 engine with the CVT is not a bad choice, as I see a lot of these Accords on the road. Also I'm one who loves that dual screen layout. It's just so cool to see and it can be useful once you know what information you want to put on that 8 inch screen at top.
J35Y2 6-6 Coupe here. The only thing I don't like about ANY trim of the 9th gen Accord is CVT. These are wonderful cars and no matter how well they do or don't hold value, I am confident that my car will give me far less headaches in my head or my wallet over the next decade compared to most other cars in the same general class. All while putting a smile on my face every time my foot feels heavy.
I really like that car and I love the V6...any V6 really. For almost 19 years, I owned a 2006 Honda Accord EX-L Sedan with a V6 and the 6 speed manual, and I never did time it from 0 - 60 or anything else. I ran the car with premium gas the last 3 years and it just felt faster than what you did with the 2017 automatic. It would launch to 60 VERY quickly which means nothing as far as numbers are concerned. My son owns the car now...maybe I will get this draggy app when he comes for a visit next time...
I get where you're coming from... I own a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 4.0L I6 engine, which is the most bulletproof engine ever built. And while I love the car and love the power output from that engine... It's just too much gas consumption and it's old and I have a leak that I can't find the source. So as I look into these honda Sedans, I look at the 10th generation with the 2 Liter turbo and it's going to be different going from a 6 cyl. Down to a 4. But it would be better overall. I wish i could keep a 6 cyl. But get a smaller displacement and more recent car that's just more reliable.

I am at sea level. I've never hit sub 6s on a N/A Accord sedan. We had an Accord 2.0T, and my record was 5.75s in the most ideal weather, and normally it was 6.3-6.5 seconds. So it's very reasonable to assume 6.5-7 seconds would be the performance of this car.
@@DMCarReviewsidk, I’ve got 5.8s during winter and about 5.6s during the summer, all the runs verified by draggy, in my case I’ve seen all of these doing 0-60 in under 6.5s so it’s very weird to see it doing over 7s, I also had the sedan which I guess it might be slightly slower than the coupe

I own the 2017 Honda Accord Coupe V6 Touring (70,000 miles) (last one made / same car crystal black pearl but the coupe) and it is faster, with more features than essentially every car on the road. It is truly a gem and so slept on in all facets. I live in Mass and have yet to see another one of my exact car to this day. I feel like the V6 Touring Coupe’s are VERY rare and are nicer / faster with more features than a lot of more expensive “luxury” cars. Also, the self-drive often works for minutes at a time and people are blown away it can do that. Then there is distance pacing, automatic headlights / high-beams, etc., all ahead of their time, underrated features. I am very OCD and seven years later my car still looks brand new inside and out. I plan to keep the car forever. Thanks for reading. Any other opinions?
V6 with the new gen 10 speed auto would make it even quicker. I bought a 2017 exl V6 w sensing in 2021 over the turbos because of smoothness, power, reliability and efficiency. I still get 32 mpg at 78 mph on the hwy.
I am absolutely loving your videos! I like your style. Can you add a Lincoln MKS Ecoboost to your list? These are sleeper cars. Same with The Lincoln MKZ 3.0TT which is even more insane. Ecoboosts produce maximum power with 93.
Hmm, great question! The Accord definitely drives sportier, but power wise I think they are fairly comparable, although I feel like the 2013-2015 Altima V6 may have even better acceleration at higher speeds, since it doesn't have to shift.
@@DMCarReviews i dig it. i know there's tons of vids of the Accord taking on those Nissan VQs and it's always a close race. both them blow the V6 Camry outta the water tho lol. like it's not even fair
@@DMCarReviewsthe Altima can take corners way faster than an accord it is not sportier by any means. I have driven both and the V6 Altima is a better handler.
I have the 16 AV6 Touring and it's easily the favorite of the cars we own. (also own a 24 MDX and 21 TLX) I do agree with the comparison to the 2.4 Sport as we used to have a 14 Accord Sport CVT. They look similar but the Touring dynamically feels more like an Acura product.
@@pilotvanquish3886 OMG! It’s not even close. The chassis setup in my 21 TLX is superior to that of my AV6, which makes sense seeing as Acura designed the new TLX with a Type S model in mind. A better comparison would be my Accord V6 Touring vs my old 19 TLX 3.5 PAWS.
@@MidnightAspec Ah yes i forgot for a second the new TLX has double wish bone front now lol. How would you compare the v6 touring to your former 19 tlx pws?
What a gem, looks really nice... shame we don't have the Accord anymore in Europe let alone a nice V6. If only they'd offer it in a manual transmission though. How does the automatic 6 speed feel like? AFAIK it's CVT so you don't really feel the changes? I'm genuinely curious since I've only driven manuals.
@@DMCarReviews No Walnut Creek CA. It’s always garaged meticulously maintained. Only selling due to a lumbar issue so getting in a low car hurts my back.
I have a 50k mile 2016 EXL V6 sensor model that I got for $19k 😊, I know this one has better speakers and spoiler, what else does it have that mine doesn’t?
I have the 17 hybrid touring. It's a good car but the front seats are uncomfortable af, a lot of wind noise in the cabin and the interior is rattly and squeaky. Drives you mad everytime. I wish to trade it in asap.
That car should be doing way better than 7 second 0-60. What's wrong with it, or is he at high elevation? A stock V6 Accord Touring sedan should be able to do 0-60 in 5.7-6.0 seconds.
The run was done at sea level. Nothing wrong with it, they all run that. It's a FWD sedan with an N/A engine, doing mid 6s, which is what most will run. They don't run 5.7s stock, and especially on the street.
@@yeetimusputimus1985 my 2017 V6 Accord Touring coupe definitely does 0-60 in under 6 seconds when the weather is not too hot, but it all depends on the tires... The sedan should only be 0.1 or 0.2 seconds slower than the coupe. Then I am in Florida, so basically sea level. It was definitely noticably slower up north when I went on a road trip to Colorado.
@@DeathhAngel1 I literally have timed it myself and gotten 5.7-5.8 seconds quite frequently (on good tires and ideal road conditions near sea level in Florida.) But I have no proof? Ok whatever. There are even other videos on YT showing it.
Stock on stock, it will be a super close race. I think with a good start you may possibly beat a GLI, since they aren't the best at getting off the line without launch control, but it will depend on lots of factors such as driver reaction times, tires, weather, etc. The first mods that I would do on the Accord is get a tune (KTuner or Hondata), intake, and good tires. That will really wake up the additional power and potential.
Fun fact: my friends dad has this car and a maxima. The accord v6 needed a transmission with much less Mike's than the maxima. The maxima never needed a transmission even though jt had much more miles.
@DMCarReviews I just thought it was funny because he drives like a complete maniac and the maxima lasted until he totalled it. Also 200k. I think the accord had like 125k on it.
Reach out to Jaylen @ Younger Nissan, and he'll get you rolling! His information is in the description down below. There is a really good deal going on for that Accord right now.
I got a 2013 V6 accord I bought CPO back in 2016. I am ready to upgrade and there's really no options for a v6 on any cheaper brands. weird how everything is a hybrid or a 2L turbo shit box sub 200HP.

Honestly, unless your TL is giving you issues, I'd stay with the TL. The Accord does have some additional nice features and may be a great buy, but in terms of performance and handling, they drive, accelerate, and handle +/- the same. All depends on what you are looking for.
@@DMCarReviews Of course that would be an engine... but you already knew that. When I said, "It runs on gasoline" I was referring to the engine in the particular vehicle in the video

Thank you! The 2016 and 2017 are the same.
They are great cars!
do u think this car looks very sporty it does to me especially in that black sounds good too thinking on buying a sport good idea?
It's a great looking car! Sporty enough.
Ill be getting mine monday
По кайфу! Братан!
Спасибо!
I looked for my 17 touring coupe cause it's the last of the last, 2dr, V6, true accord. 2018 are enlarged civics.
8th gen coupe in Blue best looking accord ever followed by the 98-02 coupe
Yes!
افضل موديل نزل ❤
If only Honda kept the v6 in the accord.
Agreed!
V6 with the new gen 10 speed auto would make it even quicker. I bought a 2017 exl V6 w sensing in 2021 over the turbos because of smoothness, power, reliability and efficiency. I still get 32 mpg at 78 mph on the hwy.
I would buy a new one tomorrow
I own the coupe, love it. Last coupe honda produced.
Peak Accord!!
Facts!
Only thing i wish my 2016 i4 touring had was either paddle shifters or a fake shift just to mimic the sound of an auto. Otherwise its such a great car
This car has an automatic transmission. I do wish it had a manual mode though.
Hello. Up to what speed is it relatively quiet in the cabin? Can you listen to the radio above 90 mil
It's pretty quiet at 70-80
I am absolutely loving your videos! I like your style. Can you add a Lincoln MKS Ecoboost to your list? These are sleeper cars. Same with The Lincoln MKZ 3.0TT which is even more insane. Ecoboosts produce maximum power with 93.
Thank you so much! They definitely are, I've driven an MKZ 3.0T. I'll have to look for one.
bro how does this compare to the Altima V6 or Maxima? in your opinion? i’m a Nissan guy but these V6 Accords were truly gems
@@JokerG16 The 2007-2014 Camry is a sleeper.
@@DMCarReviewsthe Altima can take corners way faster than an accord it is not sportier by any means. I have driven both and the V6 Altima is a better handler.
How does it compare to the 2.0 Turbo models?
It sure sounds better, and has a more linear power curve. The 2.0T feels more zippy, but performance is comparable.
Yes, that is 100% correct!
Any handling comparisons you can describe v6 touring vs your 21 tlx? Been looking for clean low mileage( under 25k miles) v6 touring sedans.
I liked the 6-speed. I think it's a great gearbox.
No, it's not CVT. 3.5 L has a regular automatic. 2.4 L has CVT.
what is the little device with a screen mounted on the windshield?
Radar Detector
2017 Honda accord V6 EXL Touring is one of the best Accords ever.
For sure!
Great video besides crossing double yellow on the backroads.
That's called a trajectory, to make turning easier and safer. Track driving is based on these principles.
@@DMCarReviews Sure, but it's a not a track. It's a public road.
@@Newyen6MT It's Mexico
Yeah...... Mexico.... 😉😁
Half the video had me cringing because of his driving
This is a very nice car, I wish I could buy, but I'm too far away 😢
im 16 and looking to get a 2017 honda accord is it a good start car?
It's an excellent car for a start. Very reliable and efficient. Are you looking at the 2.4 or the 3.5 version?
@@DMCarReviewsa 3.5!
@@vroya571 That's the best option!
Last best Accord
In your option do you think a 2008 Infiniti G35 sport is faster than the Accord V6 I think the g35 is?
Hmm, I think if it's a G35x, it will be slightly quicker 0-60, but on the highway I think they are very evenly matched.
Wish it had paddle shifters
Very true!
Any issues using Apple CarPlay ?
I haven't tried it
Anyone else notice the honda Pilot Engine cover? 😂
I didn't know it had a Pilot cover.
Paddle shifters on this vehicle?
No
You should do a review and test drive of a 2017-2020 Chrysler Pacifica
Junk
I have a black 2016 Accord Touring 4dr 37,000 miles in perfect condition hit me back if interested.
It’s exactly like this car.
I'd love to make a video of it. Is it in Maryland/Virginia?
@@DMCarReviews No Walnut Creek CA.
It’s always garaged meticulously maintained.
Only selling due to a lumbar issue so getting in a low car hurts my back.
I have the coupe touring, its auto unfortunately but love it , need more J35 content 👌 coupe has paddle shifters, car is way faster than 7 seconds
My best was 6.5s on it, which seems it's best time by GPS
@@DMCarReviews all depends on elevation, I get around 6 to high 5s
@@mondyeah My average on our 2.0T was 6.3-6.5 seconds, sea level.
I have a 50k mile 2016 EXL V6 sensor model that I got for $19k 😊, I know this one has better speakers and spoiler, what else does it have that mine doesn’t?
This one is going for $16,200. It has the upgraded wheels, headlights, and navigation.
I just bought this car lol. I can give an update later on
This specific Accord?
I have the 17 hybrid touring. It's a good car but the front seats are uncomfortable af, a lot of wind noise in the cabin and the interior is rattly and squeaky. Drives you mad everytime. I wish to trade it in asap.
and he had the AC on too
The AC doesn't affect any performance in these modern cars
Mythical performance enhancement.
5.7 In your dreams lmao, 6.5 to 7 seconds every day.
@@JustinDanielsyou can say that all you want but doesnt matter because you have no proof.
@@DeathhAngel1 I literally have timed it myself and gotten 5.7-5.8 seconds quite frequently (on good tires and ideal road conditions near sea level in Florida.) But I have no proof? Ok whatever. There are even other videos on YT showing it.
this can beat a 2020 GLI in a race?
Stock on stock, it will be a super close race. I think with a good start you may possibly beat a GLI, since they aren't the best at getting off the line without launch control, but it will depend on lots of factors such as driver reaction times, tires, weather, etc. The first mods that I would do on the Accord is get a tune (KTuner or Hondata), intake, and good tires. That will really wake up the additional power and potential.
Fun fact: my friends dad has this car and a maxima. The accord v6 needed a transmission with much less Mike's than the maxima. The maxima never needed a transmission even though jt had much more miles.
@@occckid123 Any car may need a new transmission. Lemon's are present everywhere, but statistically they are very reliable and can go 300+k with ease.
@DMCarReviews I just thought it was funny because he drives like a complete maniac and the maxima lasted until he totalled it. Also 200k. I think the accord had like 125k on it.
what's that app to see miles per hour
That's a Dragy GPS + App.

I can't stand the 2016-2017 refresh on this generation Accord. The prerefresh is so much cleaner looking.
I actually like the 2016 refresh!
I wish I had a 9th gen, I have a 8th gen 6-6 accord
6-6 is really the sweet spot!
I got a 2013 V6 accord I bought CPO back in 2016. I am ready to upgrade and there's really no options for a v6 on any cheaper brands. weird how everything is a hybrid or a 2L turbo shit box sub 200HP.
The Accord 2.0T is actually better than this one!
@DMCarReviews oh I didn't see this one. But it looks like it's a previous Gen that went up to year 2022. I didn't even know they had that model. I might check it out what's the deals on a cpo look like
seems about as fast as my 05 E320 which is (theoretically) down on power by quite a bit?
It's much faster than an E320.
@@DMCarReviews it probably is, i need to time mine to see what it does from 0-60… i’d guess its like 7-7.5 seconds but as i said, don’t know until i time it haha
2013-2017 Accord V6 automatics will get it done in 6 seconds or less
@@masterwhopper414 That's too optimistic, but 6.5-7 seconds is doable :)

Very interesting observation!
Agreed
I love this Honda V6 J35 engine so punchy and got a lot of power. So much better than their 1.5T and 2.0T 4 cylinder engines just a naturally aspirated V6. Good test drive overall
Thanks! I prefer it over the 4-cylinder versions.
@@DMCarReviewsyea it’s gonna last forever these turbo engines end up having a lot of problems once you get to 100,000 miles. It’s better to have a NA engine because it’s gonna hold up over time and last longer

Thank you😊
is this a worthy upgrade from an 07 tl do you think ? in terms of performance and such
Honestly, unless your TL is giving you issues, I'd stay with the TL. The Accord does have some additional nice features and may be a great buy, but in terms of performance and handling, they drive, accelerate, and handle +/- the same. All depends on what you are looking for.
Why do you keep touching the shifter? Do you drive manuals more than automatics?
I like to rest my hand on the shifter, from time to time.
It runs on gasoline, hence it is an Engine. A motor runs on electricity
What if it runs on diesel?
@@DMCarReviews Of course that would be an engine... but you already knew that. When I said, "It runs on gasoline" I was referring to the engine in the particular vehicle in the video
You don't know the definition of motor.
@@yeetimusputimus1985 What is a motor vs engine?
“People use both interchangeably, but the difference is that motors run on electricity and engines run on combustion. The engine converts various forms of fuels into mechanical force, while the motor transforms electrical energy into mechanical energy.”
@@nickphillips2125 The word "motor" refers to any power unit that generates motion, that is a "prime mover", while "electric motor" refers to a "prime mover using electricity." Motors do not always run on electricity.

The V6 sedan has an automatic.
I have that exact same car and 6.3 sec 0-60 consistently but people saying they beat g37s are lying . My g37 is a full second quicker to 0-60 .

Something is off on that accord, Car and Driver got a 5.6 0-60 time so you shoulda been at least a 6 at worse
Those FWD cars don't do anything close to 5.6 in the real world, not the Accord nor the Camry. They do mid high 6s on a good day. I have no idea how magazines come up with these numbers. I've tested a Camry V6, ES350, Accord V6, Altima 3.5, etc and all were in the 6.5-7s range by GPS.
with stage 1 on Ktuner and some continental sport+ tires i run 5 seconds easily

@@DMCarReviews I have Intake, rv6 jpipe and midpipe, and borla axle back with Ktuner stage 1. The key is that stage 1 tune raises rev limits so that the engine stays in Vtec during shifts. Stock setup allows the engine to exit vtec during shifts on the automatic
