Holden Captiva key battery change, 2016. Chevy captiva. C7 Corvette.

Key/remote battery change for 2016 holden captiva. Also a few other Cars in the g.m family.
Holden Service department made it sound like it was the hardest thing in the world.
I couldn't find instructions for this particular key so I made this.
The battery is a CR2032
Also.

My remote was going flat & I was worried because the spare key had never worked and Holden looked at it and told me I'd need to replace with a new key for $220 😳 I managed to change them both for $7 and surprise surprise, the one Holden said needed replacing had the battery in upside down. Flipped it over and it works fine so now I have 2 working keys! Stoked 🙌 😂

Stupid question but im not from your country who is holden? They sound like really sketchy company im a car locksmith and do this for life i charge 5€ for a battery but if its upside down i do it for free if battery works ✌️

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. Holden Townsville told me remote was too fragile to change and it would cost $200 for new remote + syncing fee for each remote. Watched your video twice and $6 later for 2 batteries, I easily changed both remotes. Much Appreciated. ♥

Brilliant! Thank you very much! :) A true time & money saver and we are most grateful for this video tip. A tip for others in opening the case: I used a pair of tweezers - the ends were small and the perfect size to fit into the slot - tweezers open>use one end>twist>case pops>gently prise around the rest of the case using the "gentle insert & twist" motion to fully separate the two case pieces.

Thanks Mate !! Captiva Key battery dead this morning, now solved . I'm always hesitant when doing any plastic casing that plys apart with force alone. Not till you get a Captiva you realise how many of them are actually on the road in Australia as family cars . There is still a hell of a lot of them going around still despite the company closure.
