@@fredr. when i had my first look on your video,i thought you might probably got like a 50k likes already, but unfortunately not yet,but i believe one day youre getting more that my prediction!your content deserve much more attention than you are getting now
Nice video! I bought a 44-2 that was in a rough shape and had some foggy fluid on one of the glasses. I loved I could easily take it apart and clean it on my desk. I reassembled it, and still working. :)
My Helios 44M-4 is really nice. I would use it more if the focusing ring wasn’t so stiff, but one of these days, I’ll get it serviced. Im inclined to because my copy is a family heirloom. It came from my grandfather’s Zenit 11 film camera, and while the camera unfortunately doesn’t work very well anymore, the lens, unknowingly to me, was a legendary lens. I’m really glad I kept it and adapted it to my Canon camera, it’s an awesome lens.
Was that Tarantino*s Pulp fiction that I just watched? Much loved lenses and kind of pointless battle between 44-2 and 44M-4.... But watched it all, just for the fun of it... If I smoked dope it would probably blew my mind! Lol... Thanks 👍❤️
I shoot a film SLR. I use a 44-2. And a Cooke Triplet and a Tessar, as well as a Sonnar. They are all appropriate to what I'm doing and the look I want to get. Thanks for puncturing the common RUclips bubbles with humor and talent.
Hey Fred, maybe you have knowledge about this and I would like to ask you: Which one would be the best version to buy? Mir-1 silver M39 (early version). Mir-1 black M42 (most common) Mir-1A with t-mount (uncommon); Mir-1B M42 (VOMZ). Mir-1V
@@fredr. je l'avais acheté à la base pour la photo et depuis peu je me lance dans l'aventure de la video et je n'avais pas pensé à la base que le FD était une bonne solution !
Cool production. I bought a 44-2 AND a 44-4, both with anamorphic mod. Ive heard they are all slightly different. Even among same model. Ill probably search out whole line except the 44-5, heard that one isnt good at all. Silver i heard is nicest. Also zebra... The addiction is real.
@@fredr. I love that swirly bokeh. But I have other oddities like a 200mm reflex. Weird donut bokeh. Then regular stuff like Sony G 16-35/24-70 zooms, 100mm German telesandmar Argus brick lens I got for $10. Pretty covered on lengths. 55mm mamiya 1.4 I got for $20. Konica pancake 40mm. always thrifting for cheap lenses tho. Been looking at short Nikon's for the wide angles. Those seem to go for around $50. Anyway, dig your videos. Lots of work put into them.
Just found your channel, man I love your style so much. You should easily be one of those channels with 100K+ subscribers
100k??? Wow 😂 Even in my wildest dreams I am more around 5k subs. But hey? Let’s try. Thanks Terence.✌️
Your channel deserves so many more views Fred. Been watching you for months now and every video is a treat to watch.

Not at all. Maybe one day but this one is not in my priority

This is the most fun 12 minutes 22 seconds video I ever watched

this is underrated Video and Channel ,.
No biggie. I know that my style is a bit peculiar. And I prefer few good subscribers than many that don't bother to watch the videos.✊
The yearly version, mirror polished, is a master looking down at this fight. It can cut its rivals in to peaces with rays of light.
You r talking about the 44-2 or 44M-4?
@@fredr.44 and 44-2, not painted black. It's the same lens. It just have the shiny look of polished metal housing.

You have a very interesting accent. Where are you from?
From the womb of my mother 🤷 ... (It is not important where I coming from).
Could you use some teflon tape on the threads to reduce the play when screwed into an adapter?
Won't do much. The play is inside the lens.
