The tusk skid plate is excellent as well. I’ve found that 3/8 is better than 1/2 because it flexes just a bit more and holds up better over time. The 1/2 thick skids crack easier when big hits happen. And yes uhmw can crack
let me translate that "I don't want to buy a skid plate where I have to drill and screw self tapping bolts into my frame, but it does looks sweet" lol auto correct sucks sometimes
@@SomewhatHaggard oh for sure. Too many guys getting busted trans and blocks due to crappy factory “protection” I’ve barely/started to strip a couple of the factory holes. When I replace the driveshaft, I’ll probably have to retap some of these to 5/16-18 and get bigger bolts. Honestly think half the factory threads were already stripped from factory.
Yeah the factory one is pretty pathetic. Definitely been seeing people posting about the busted trans. I’m glad I only ruined my crossmember! Not surprised you’re dealing with stripped hole, I feel we got pretty lucky in that department haha.
@@SomewhatHaggard my crossmembers are just barely barely bent. Not enough that I’m gonna mess with them at this time. Factory UTV adds some slight support to the crossmembers too.
Hey man I was just wondering how you and dude are still liking your skid plates with the with the side flap tree kicker things, if you were to get that skid plate again, would you get it with those side? Flaps or no?
Definitely still like them!! I personally would do it again, if wasn’t for those I’m sure I would’ve destroyed the factory rockers. I guess it all depends on if you have kickers or not. With kickers they’re probably less necessary.
Hey man I am insanely bad with computers but I have filmed a couple of my rides. I'm in a wheelchair and people have been asking how I ride and and stuff like that. I was just wondering what do you use to edit your videos? Don't even know where to begin lol
@johnpicco437 I currently use power director on a pc. I believe it was the first seven or so videos were edited on my iPhone. The iPhone comes with easy to use editing software called iMovie. Not sure if android devices have something similar. Starting off I had zero experience and just started teaching myself and messing around with clips on the phone. Once I outgrew that I moved to a laptop and new software and had to figure all that out.
Got my tusk skid plate sitting here for my pro xp, can't get myself to lay underneath the rzr for 2-3 hours. Did you have any fluid loss issues or anything with tipping it on its side? I'm getting too old to lay on the ground. Thanks.

I think the new hardware deserved a pilot hole. Maybe a 1/8 bit or so would make this a lot easier.
Little tip. You could have just pre-drilled the frame holes with a drill bit, then came back with the screws. Looks like a really nice piece of kit.
Thanks for watching! It probably didn’t make the video but that’s how we the stubborn ones in.
@@SomewhatHaggard Gotcha!
Pilot holes thought they said that. Anyhow fck that sht.
Just what I needed to see. Getting the 3/8" tomorrow.
Nice!!!!!!
Thanks. Great video.
Thank you!!
I don't want to use a skip plate where I have to drill sap to South tappers into my frame It does look very nice though

using self tapping screws into the tubbing is NOT a big deal and most aftermarket skid-plates require it.
Brian is correct most require it and it really wasn’t bad at all. Definitely worth it for the added protection.
Funny you post this this weekend. I’m in process of doing the factory utv 1/2 skids on mine. Total pita, will have to finish mine later this week.
Yeah it’s worth the hassle though!!!

That’s good! The one I bent was the carrier bearing crossmember so it was an easy one to swap out.

Nope we did it like this on both pro xps and had no fluid issues
Thanks. Guess I'll give it a go.
Approximately how many bolts did you have to South tap into the frame
If we remember correctly it was maybe 6 that needed to be drilled, but a few more that self tapped into holes that are already there!
Caught you guys rolling through edgerton the other day, sent you a video of it to your Instagram🤟🏼🤟🏼
Hell yeah!! Thanks I’m gonna go check it out!!
Nice Pro.... Will you sell me your Niplick sign? I'm kind of into signs and like that one.
Thanks! I wasn’t looking to get rid of it. It’s actually supposed to say niblick, but we cut part of the b to look like a p!
