I’m doing that right away! I used to have my wife hold a flashlight so I could see better, but then she went blind and couldn’t help anymore (KIDDING!!!). Seriously, thank you ARCO and Kelly. That’s a great tip!!!
Great tip Arco! I have been having that issue trying to weld on my Camaro and have been using a strong shop light, which is hampered on various positions. I will be working on it again over the weekend and will rig this idea up for sure!
I stripped down a led lenser h7r and fitted it onto my speed glass 9100fx a few years back, I screwed the light to the chin and ran the wires to the battery pack inside by my chin, recharge socket easy to get to, job done, it changed my life as I spend a lot of my time welding up underneath cars! Best hack ever done, highly recommend to all! Great video as always!
cool tip! I'm constantly trying to get better light on my work so I can see. Can't believe I never thought of just adding a light to my helmet. Will be doing this mod myself. Thanks!
That's a great tip brother, a real welding hack. Hope you and Heidi have a great week and Best wishes and stay safe and well to you both and your families brother
Hey Arco. That is a cool idea. I have that trouble seeing at times. I appreciate the idea. Another problem that I have is setting my helmet so I can see better when I am welding. I am a newbie welder and I have a lot of bugs to work out of my welding techniques. Thanks for sharing.🍁👍👍
If you used some a Velcro strip, you can pull it off and put it back on when you need it. Or replace it way faster if you burn that one up with spatter.
I put a light over my helmet a few times to help but have been meaning to do just that . But it's not to get in places like under cars and you think about it again
my friends headlight with the three AAA's only lasts 45 min or so. they went to Ikea to get rechargeable batteries as it was eating the regular ones fast. have to look at these , Wish they had them in AA's or a pack to feed the light attaching somewhere else they said.
Slick idea! My old eyes need all the help they can get. Now if ya can come up with a hack for the old back, neck, feet, hands and maybe even the knees that would be much appreciated........
Seriously I’m headed right now to get a light or 2 and put this into action. When you add glasses under the helmet to the equation vision really becomes a struggle.
I put a light on my welding helmet on mouthpiece as tried on top and kept hitting it. Nice piece of Velcro on light and helmet works great Nice to be able to see where starting to weld ain’t it. Danny from dg retro gave me the idea after watching his lights in side of helmet. Have you seen price of speedglas light for welding helmet?
wow brother amazing! actually it happens a lot, in some places it gets darker even using a lamp, this idea from Kelly Jones is great👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 🤣🤣🤣🤣 my partner Jones 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤣 i will use this idea 😃
@@EdgeofEternityBillCameron ya..I've had one on my helmet for probably 10 years but when trying to weld overhead underneath a vehicle I often blocked out the top light..I put the bottom one on this year and it made it even better then I could of ever imagine..👍👍
@@NZMOPAR have you heard of a movie called "Worlds fastest Indian"? That's the movie I just woke up too. About a guy comin here from NZ yo drive his bike on the salt flats

My shop needs more light, I'll get to it eventually. For now that looks like the plan. The lights I had like that years ago didn't last long, but with the LED that has changed. I used hats with lights on them all the time when I can find them. It gets super dark here at night when there is no moon. With snow you can see by star light if its not cloudy, in summer this is one of the darkest spots in the USA. Astrophotography is one of the other things I do.. That reminds me I should get a better camera and lenses for that.
Hot damn Arco. All these years welding in dungeons and blacksmith shops...shit was right there in front of me. Thanks man. Great tip.

Great minds, think alike, Arco! I did a video of this hack a while back. I use it all the time👍

Awesome idea putting one on my hood tomorrow
Thanks Arco
Simple and effective. Might do this with mine.
Thanks for sharing the idea.
Excellent stuff I am gona fit one to my mask saves having light behind which can be a pain with shadows etc
Good idea buddy I have been thinking about that
Thanks, but I could not hear you very well. Was the light so you can see the puddle better?
The light is for the whole area you’re working on. For instance inside a car fender or under a car 👍
@@OutlawEdge Ok thank you.
grate tip I have a small light that clips on my mig torch works grate all-so

I put my headlamp on my helmet last year...big help.
Yup...doing that today! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing!!
Thats an awesome idea!
Thank you brother!!
Where did you get that one? I really need it because I can’t see a thing when I weld and that’s a huge part of my problem.
I put the light on the welding helmet. Its a hiking head lamp. Easy modification for your welding helmet 👍
Great idea! Now I can poach deer with my welding helmet ! Lol All jokes aside... I’m doing that!
