Let me start off by saying how much I admire your videos and relationship! ❤ Just found your channel and have been binging your videos. Nee subscriber!🌸 My mother had a deaf friend when she was young so she learned sign language so that they could more easily communicate. She said that it was like their secret language in school..(they were in elementary school). My mom found that this was life changing for her and taught me sign language when I was young. We would regularly communicate this way so that it stayed fresh in my head and I was able to practice. I actually picked up on it fast and loved it as a child almost as much as I do now. ❤ I have been able to use this knowledge to help at work. If someone needs translation between asl and speaking then I can help them to understand each other and that makes me happy. I have a one year old daughter now and I have taught her to express basic needs through sign and am planning to continue to teach her all that I know. I want her to be able to help others but my main goal is to give her the opportunity to understand and communicate for herself...so that if she is so lucky to have a friend like my mom had, or a partner then she will instantly be able to communicate and strengthen that bond!! ❤ Sorry for the long comment but I feel very deeply about this and am so happy to have found your channel!❤❤❤
Thanks for joining the sign fam! that's so awesome that your mom taught you what she learned in elementary school!! And now that you use it at work! See how awesome sign language is🤟🏻
❤❤❤
That’s amazing!!
@@andieines6368 Thank you!❤
Sign Duo I have not watched for awhile, and I just wanted to say that Ellen, you have come into yourself in such a powerful way. Not only do you look gorgeous, but you just have an embodied presence that is beautiful. Ryan...cute as always, and both lucky to have each other.
I sign (although I am out of practice.) what is a good dating website that has deaf/hearing?

First time on this channel and was expecting her to be deaf, idk whyyy. But was like oh she sounds amazing, she must've progressively lost her hearing. Then he started signing and I'm waiting for him to talk. And he doesn't, so I'm like "Why he NO talk?". I swear y'all I'm a dumb ass.
TypicallyTemo I don’t understand either please explain
I THOUGHT THE SAME THING
I DID THAT EXACT SAME THING
which one of them is deaf??? i’m so confused
@@anjalixg he's deaf.
Yes, I appreciate that you talk whilst signing, because I'm learning sign! It helps me pick it up easier when you talk at the same time!
Abigail Hernandez I’m happy you feel like it helps! It’s good to know 😁🤟
You guys are adorable
Abigail Hernandez same
@Mia Jade Yup! If you sign PSE, you should still be understood by people who sign ASL. I started out learning a little PSE but then jumped into college with ASL. Hope it goes well for ya :).
Me to as it takes Longer to pick up when I have to read the subtitles and quickly glance at the signs instead of just hearing it and watching the signing and getting it quicker
Didn’t want to offend but I wonder how it looks when they are mad at each other *hand sign intensifies lmao
thats the good thing about a perfect couple... they never fight :))
Que Juice no one is perfect, even though they both seem great, I’m sure they have their moments where they fight
i cant remember what video it was but they said they convey it through facial expressions! which makes sense haha
LMAOAOAAOAOOA
Pauline Ong ahhhhh i see lol
when he interrupted her to feed her, my heart melted
i want someone to love me too haha
I get you Amy
hey babe
I am deaf but i can speak but i can read lips and not doing sign language
The Juarez family sameeeee🥺it’s rare to find people love like us,I have tried learning sign language but it’s hard,it just confusing trying to remember a lot of words
Lol
Jk that’s really messed up
I think it’s impressive you can read lips.
Thats like a superpower
Same as me most of my deaf friends speak the most while doing sigh Language very less
3:29 the way he looks at her❤️
I love how Ryan was using big movements to sign I thought "He's talking so loud!"
i was signing so loooooooud!
That last question made me laugh. One time I was sitting in my 5th grade class just messing with my hands and I noticed the sign language interpreter was talking about me because her and the student were looking at me and laughing. Turns out she was saying “wow, Danielle must be very comfortable” because I apparently kept signing comfortable over and over again without knowing it. Lol 😂 but now I’ll never forget what the sign for comfortable is!
lol thats wholesome
Bro this man it's the deal he eats so politely even more than people who hear also he feeds his queen like damnnn
You guys are literally my favorite 🥺 my 4 y/o brother showed me your channel, he’s deaf and loves how “pretty Ellen is and Ryan is funny”, obsessed LOL

The way he looks at her though, you can just tell how sweet of a boyfriend he is, I can't wait for them to share their wedding or when they have kids omg. New subscriber, you guys are perfect for each other and still give off those honeymoon sweatheart vibes even after 8 years.
The way she looks at him at 2:15 when he feeds her the cake makes my heart warm! You can see the love in the eyes! and she's so smiley afterward
I am so happy youtube has recently pushed your videos to recommended and I discovered you both! I love how genuine you both are :) You inspire me to continue persevering through youtube! You guys deserve a million subbies.
aw thank you for that comment 🤟🏻
Sign Duo is the girl def too
I just realized....English captions work with sign language 😱
Edit: oh. They talked about it. 🤷🏻♀️😂
Lol
The captions won’t come up for me...
Nah, the captions were made by people. You'd need some really specialized software to interpret sign language
Andrea Rangel they come up later in the vid
If I am on my phone in full screen I don’t see the subtitles
I love how he is trying to talk , if you really listen u can here him talk words through smacking 🥳🥳
edited : thanks for 530 likes
Mouthing words is actually a decently important part of sign language. It helps with context and expression
Yes
I think he can talk
I think he can talk for the most part but he chooses not to
Hiquality it’s true cause they made a video about it
The answer Ellen gave at 1:47 is soooo spot on. I'm learning ASL, and Ellen speaking while signing helps my vocabulary lots for exactly the reason she described. But then having Ryan in between is a great way to test my skills, like they said. AND I like watching each answer Ryan gives once without captions and once with, so I appreciate that the captions are optional. She described how I utilize the videos so accurately it's like she's reading my mind 😂 love the videos!
when he fed her the cake, my heart went: 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Like hand someone the shock pads, my heart stopped when that happened ☺️
i though your heart was supposed to go knock knock i hope someone gits that joke
lol the part where he gets the cake and they edit in “me, no her” swear that’s me everytime i try sharing food with my boyfriend
Is there a video where they visit Ryan's mother? It would be cool to feature his family in a video.
The sound he makes with his mouth while signing is so relaxing!💘
I like when she speaks because when they sign without talking I automatically focus directly on the subtitles and don’t see their signs.
This is the cutest thing I've seen all month, Randomly popped up in my recommendation and bow im subscribed
BYokai welcome 🤟
I rarely see a hearing and deaf couple mainly because of the language barrier. But it is truly amazing to see you two make it work no matter the differences. My parents (who are deaf and I am hearing) said that it would be so hard for them to date a hearing person.
Wow that's amazing usually when two deaf people have a child, that child is also deaf. How did they go about teaching you how to speak, and sign if they cannot speak themselves. Or do they speak? I hope you're not offended by that question. I know sign language and am hearing, I just really wondered what that was like for you.
SSilverLake - that’s a great question
Ooh that's so interesting!
I was currently binge watching you’re older videos when I got the notification!!
Lauren Cottrell me too!
Same!

Ditto! I’m fascinated with ASL and just discovered these guys yesterday. Definitely binged watch a bunch of vids and have subscribed. Such a great couple!
I don't know/understand sigh language but i can't stop smiling while watching your videos ❤❤❤
You’re so cute together. 🥰
I also really like the tiny sounds he makes when he signs - it’s really endearing. ☺️
Ryan put a ring on it already 😂♥️🤟
2:18 get you a girl that looks at you the way she did after he fed her.
Dude, no cap but I'm glad I got this video in my recommendation.
You guys are beautiful, healthy and awesome.
I hope Ryan knows how soft spoken, sweet and soothing Ellen’s voice is. You guys are such a beautiful couple.
I like that she talks and signs because I can focus on her signing and hear what shes saying which helps me learn the signs. (:
I agree!
I agree, when you talk and sign it always helps me learn more sign language cause like I usually don’t study it at school
I am deaf , I went to Maryland school for the deaf and I have hearing family sometimes I use voice with them or not
nice to meet you ANGEL!
Angel Torriah what’s it like to be deaf? If you ever heard anything, would it be like if I wore my shooting ear protection? When I wear those I can’t hear anything. Thankfully I’m not deaf. 🙏
J.HALL felt pretty good , but it’s kinda annoy if i use my without with my CI , people starting calling my name when I didn’t hear I am ignoring them on purpose so I think deaf pretty cool but same time it’s annoy through my fav things is sharing or teaching hearing what deaf do ? Teaching them asl ! My school is pretty good education, good deaf and hearing school I have some deaf sister , some hearing and deaf family it’s very rare but 100 percent is normal , you can talk lots lots of deaf people ! ❤️ I will love to teaching hearing people to asl wanna me post on my channel ? Sorry if I was typing that long but it’s good question!!!

when my dad was growing up one of his friends parents were deaf so when he went over there they would sign and he picked it up, and his friend taught him too. One day my dad was showing me some signs and i just had this wave of realization of how much respect i have for the deaf community, or just people who sign in general because i could never do it😂😂
Guys open the captions if you don’t know and btw
REEEEEEEEEEE YOU GUYS ARE CUTE TOGETHER *wHeRE iS dA bAbIEs??*

I just found your channel because your "Would You Still Be Together if She Didn't Sign" video was recommended to me a few days ago. I found myself coming back today and binging your other videos.
I think that original video stuck with me because it was touching to see that Ellen knew so much and read articles about deaf and hearing relationships. And as I watched your other videos today, I saw the care and love went both ways like Ryan worked on a frickin house for Ellen, and just ahhh you're so supportive of one another!
I was honestly surprised to learn that you guys are only 21 or something, because I feel like your empathy and connection and understanding for one another are just so ahead of other people your age. Trust me, I'm 18 and my friends still get hung up on like "oh no, my Tinder date left me on seen!! what is the meaning of this??" Your relationship seems stronger than most hearing-hearing couples I know because you guys truly try to understand each other. I'm just really inspired by you guys like even the way you look at one another is adorable, and I love seeing love, and what you guys have is beautiful :) Subscribed, and followed on instagram too!
P.S. last thing, you're both super pretty/handsome too
im actually 25, ellen is 23 but thank you for the compliment heehehe. Thanks for subbing and welcome to the sign fam

I just want to say. Y’all give me that warm feelin in my stomach. Like I feel the love😂
You also literally have the sweetest voice ever Ellen.... it's the cutest thing ☺
Thank you for being wonderful people and wonderful teachers to us who truly want to learn ASL
Put subtitles on if you wanna know what he’s saying xx
had no idea that was gonna be your answer but that's exactly why i love this channel and why i subscribed way back when - the voicing-signing combo!
it helps me learn + study + improve! in a way that watching the signs w| or w|o CC just can't.
very grateful for this channel. 😊😎 thanks, y'all! ❤✊🏾
hella Swankky glad you like it! More glad that you learn from them! That’s one of our biggest goals, to help people retain and learn naturally!
Ellen ( think is her name) seems like very gentle soul. She soft spoke and seema like kind heart you'd want in their relationship. Ryan seems protective of that. Great couple! 🥰
Using her voice helps me learn to sign bc Ryan signs fast. But you both help me learn correctly. I like it.
The way he looks at her I can’t 🥺🥺🥺🥺😫😫😫😫
They‘re adorable I never saw them before but I instantly like them 🙌🏽
I'm studying ASL in college and you guys make me even more motivated!! love y'all!! :)
He’s so cute when feeding you especially since he debated it, it was amusing
The way he looks at u is soOo cute 😭 ❤️
This is probably my fourth video of yours that I’ve watched. I like how you talk when you sign because I don’t know sign language. So I have to turn on the closed captions. It just makes it easier for me to understand. Love your videos. 😘
I'm glad our captions are helpful! Easier to understand :)
I just discovered you guys a week ago ang It really is helpful when you voice while you sign :) love yaboth ❤
omg the food they eat in the begining always looks so good im jealous
I once read a story about a deaf man going into a restaurant and the waitress noticed that he was reading the menu to himself and signing some of the things to himself. She knew some sign language and went to his table to take his order and the man was super gracious that someone there knew how to sign. Ever since reading that, I've been trying to learn sign language just from RUclips videos and I love it. I also prefer it because I hate the sound of my own voice haha.. Your videos are SUPER helpful with the subtitles below and I learn so much from you guys. Thanks!
If you really listen you can hear him say the words that he’s signing and that’s crazy cool
That was so cute how you got off track when he told you he was proud of you 😍
I don’t know if any other hearing people who don’t know ASL have experienced this but ever since I’ve watched your videos I’ve started gesturing way more irl. it’s almost as if I want to communicate through ASL but can’t so I’m using hand gestures to compensate? I don’t even know, but I love how visual ASL is, and your videos are helping me learn a lot more!
p.s. Your videos calm me down so much. you guys have such a mellow vibe that I love.
I'm learning ASL and lately I find myself having to hold back from signing when I'm speaking with hearing people, so I just move my hands around in gestures like some hearing people do instead. Even when I'm thinking, I often imagine I'm signing along with my 'inner voice'.
recently just subscribed to your channel and I can officially say I am OBSESSED.😍😍
bae bri same😂
He is so complementary and kind to her, I caught myself over here smiling like dummy lol it's so sweet!
I actually really like that you speak while signing because it helps me learn more sign being able to hear and see the word
02:16 relationship goals
My favourite new channel to watch when my husband is sleeping beside me! CC on and volume off. 😊 You two are such a cute couple!
Paige, thats so awesome! hahaha love that
The quality of your vlogs have improved so much within this past year!! I’m really proud of you guys!💛 keep it up!! Love from Washington!!
Man, I love you guys so much! What's amazing about your relationship is that you can see when one person speaks (signs) the other person is listening (watching) attentively. So many people in relationships (or in generally really) just talk at each other and the person "listening" can't wait to interrupt or get their two cents in. But with you guys you can really tell that you're active listeners. It's slightly ironic yet amazing, and is probably one of the many reasons you work so well together! Just something I've picked up on after watching some of your videos!
I love how you guys do this...voice to sign and no voice. I am progressively going deaf so I am learning sign. This ROCKs!!! Thank you so much!!!
me: why he fed her while she was talking and explainin something ruuuude
5sec later, me: wait she can keep signing while eating *facepalm.*
It would be really cool to see you guys do a video with Ryan’s mom! And maybe do a q&a with her? and have her talk about what it was like raising a hearing impaired child, give some insight, and maybe even some advice to people who are raising or just became parents to a hearing impaired child! 😊Love you guys xx❤️
when you speak and sign it really does help me learn :) love your videos
I still love that you talk while signing because I’m not fully fluent and I’m still learning from your videos
My mum is deaf and I love this
I'm taking sign language this year for the first time and I only know the alphabet so this channel will be helpful!
I love re-watching your videos
You guys are so in love OH MY GOD THAT CHEMISTRYYYYY
My husband and I found you guys just a few days ago, and I'm really enjoying your videos. My son is dating a girl who is deaf. She uses her voice, has hearing aids and lip-reads, but I realize after watching your videos that she may be missing a fair amount of the conversation. I've lived in foreign countries where I didn't speak the language well, so I'd just fake it that I knew what everyone was saying. It was very isolating. I'll be more mindful of that now when talking with her. My husband and I started learning ASL because we want to communicate better with her , but also because her parents and extended family are mostly deaf or hard of hearing and ASL is their primary language at home. I also notice that she struggles more with using her voice later in the day when she's tired. It would be nice if we knew enough ASL that she didn't have to work so hard for us to understand. And of course now...with everyone wearing masks in public, being able to sign seems vital.
Before I even saw this video, I was thinking that I like how you use your voice and sign at the same time because I can watch your hands instead of the captions and I'm absorbing a lot more vocabulary that way. Thank you for your videos. I feel more prepared and less likely to accidentally say or do something rude when I meet her parents and extended family.
Hi :) props to you for learning more about ASL and the dynamics between Deaf and Hearing. I’m glad our videos could be of help 😊 From what I’ve learned, Deaf fatigue is a very real thing, which is when a Deaf person gets tired from keeping up with conversation. Through my experience people who learn another’s language tend to foster a better relationship, so sounds like your on the start to a great relationship 😊
I love that you speak and sign at the same time because I can associate the signs with the words you are speaking. On sign only channels I can't really watch the person speaking because my eyes are on the words at the bottom of the screen rather than on them. When Ryan speaks I read the words and then back the video up so I can watch him after I know what he is saying, which isn't an issue but speaking deff helps for someone learning.
I jumped on the bandwagon to your channel! Much love 🤟🏽
Im 14 and learned how to sign back in 6th grade for this boy that was deaf and i had a major crush on him lol.

All I got out of his part in the beginning was "deaf" but i was just sitting here amazed that i've done sign language for months and can't retain any of it loll
Any advice for meeting people who would be willing to learn sign, or how to encourage/inspire people to? Im HoH and often my friends won’t really learn any ASL even when I try to teach them bc with enough tries I’ll eventually get what they’re saying... but it’s so tiring & frustrating sometimes!
Ps- Seriously warms my heart seeing this channel. Every video gives me a lot of hope for future society (& one day being able to make videos like these too). If y’all are ever in Rochester I’d love to host you guys at URSMD! I think a lot of the students, especially those in Deaf health, could really benefit from your insights (also would be great to meet you:)
