Outstanding video and explanation. I tore my hair out a few yrs back with a similar cub cadet. I’d hoped the newer LT42 was made simpler, but alas it wasn’t. Going to tackle this in a couple days and your video will be right by my side. Thanks for doing this
Thank you. Last spring I tried to remove the deck, and I could not get past disengaging the thingy that held the spring cable onto the top of the deck. The instruction manual wasn't clear enough for my brain, to let me know that you had to push it through, away from the spring. I kept trying to pull it out sideways, and of course that doesn't work. After inventing a whole new set of cuss words, I reattached everything and mowed with blades that really needed replacing. I'll be able to replace those blades now, before the grass gets to mowing height in two or three weeks.
Thanks for watching and your kind words!!! That was so nice of you to take the time and leave such a nice comment. Your kind words really do mean so much!!! I am so glad it helped and this is the reason I do my Videos To Help Others!!!!
I had to come on here and comment. This is one of the best tutorials I’ve ever seen. Thank you!

Thank you for this video, it helped a lot!
My deck appears to be backwards from yours and I can't figure out where the return spring should attach?
also my idler bracket is a straight piece, does't have the angled off section yours does.
Why not just raise the mower up instead of removing the deck to clean and sharpen the blades?
