This is of course after accepting a role which he admits he knew that they wanted to cast authentically which has made him hugely rich and famous. This whole thing has not made sense from the start - on accepting the part knowing the showrunners were going to major on the authentic casting, he was effectively revealing he was bi. Yet he would not acknowledge and did engage in what can best be described as queerbaiting. Why would do this other than for the reason that you accepted the part knowing that you did not pass authentically and hoped the question would die out? He left things in a position where either it looked like he had misled, or the show runners were lying. Now he is paving the way for us all to think it is “fine” when he says he is not bi after all. This young man who declared he was “comfortable and confident” in his sexuality knows he never was. The mention of 2 years is interesting as the end of October will be exactly 2 years after the bi tweet. As Heartstopper 3 is out on 3rd October, is he waiting for all the hype to pass before he makes a quiet statement? He has made the LGBTQ community who have so wholeheartedly embraced him and his “authentic” bi representation look like fools. He is not as clever as he thinks if he does not realise that anyone with half a brain can see what he and his highly paid PR people have concocted.
