- Whether replacing turbochargers, coolant lines, jiffy tight connectors / couplers and gaskets on your 2015- 2017 Expedition, F150, Navigator etc. this "brief" run down should help. Sorry for all the hard S's in advance and the vertical video shots. working with just phone and that's it. More support will help make better videos in the future. Please like and subscribe if this helps at all.
Thanks for posting this. Im going to follow your steps and do mine this weekend. I simply can't afford to pay the dealer repair cost on this job, although after watching this full video, the price is warrented.
Thanks for showing everything im about to tackle this job for a customer. With the truck on the ground. 😅
It shouldn't be too difficult if you can get the frame jacked up at least a ft and a half off the ground.
@@DFWPewReview i think i can make that happen.
How cool brother keep making them!!!
Thank you for posting this for those of us considering doing this job. I have a 2016 Navigator with single passenger side turbo that has rear turbo connector leaking. Still saying if I will do myself since having issue getting into a shop with time to do this. What is the name of your shop? I come out to Fort Worth one weekend a month for reserve duty, I take it by channel name you are DFW area?
Unfortunately I'm not able to give out the name of the shop publicly as it's not my own shop. and while I'm allowed to film etc. there... Because of the pro 2a content I create, I don't wish to bring political backlash (by others) to the independent owner of where I work. Thank you for watching however, and regardless, I'm glad it's helped you get a better understanding of what's involved! The line you're taking about (passenger side on the rear head to the outside of the turbo) is the easiest one to replace! Best of luck to you!
He don't explain enough on the process
I have to replace the passenger side turbo lines and fittings that run from side of turbo to the block by ac compressor.. what’s the best way to do this without removing a whole bunch of parts? Do you know if it would work if the ac compressor is just moved a little out of the way would I be able to attach that side line?
If it's the interior line that runs between the turbo and the front of the block you're kind of screwed unfortunately, installing the turbo is what locks that line in (which is why there is no lock clip on one of the couplers) and any kind of bending will kill the seals in the jiffy tite coupler. If it's the one running from the back of the engine to the turbo you don't need to disassemble everything but that one going to the front you definitely do.
Whats the part numbers for the coolant line fittings?
The back of block fittings you get them from bottom?
New to ecoboost world…What’s the time one should expect for a trained mechanic? Like an 8 hour job?
8.4hr. plus 1hr for the jiffy-tite replacement.
What’s the pay book time
8.4 Plus another hour for the fittings.
