I just purchased one. Honestly, I already pay for the membership so it made senes not to pay another $44.00 a month with Hydrow and get the machine I really wanted.
Glad it's worked out for you. Were you already a Peloton user? Or new to their community? I imagine it's better to stick with what you know like @elizabethkanna7671
My (early addition) Peloton had the take up rattle- they were quick to replace and while it makes a little noise- even my breathing is louder than my row. The problem was people (and Peloton) made it sound like it was silent. Put it against any wind or water rowed and is is, comparatively, silent... Having a account for Peloton (yeah I drink the koolaid daily) the classes and instructors more than make up he additional purchase. Concept gives a certificate at 1 million meters- owning my Peloton row for 2 months I have nearly 400k meters- so I'm using the heck outta mine- so cost per row (for me) is less as i REALLY enjoy using it. Each to their own... Great comparison- love your vids!
I really enjoyed that you shared an update on the rowers. Also, I appreciate mentioning the accessibility of the rowers, showing that the Aviron is good for those with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) since that affects my family. Keep up the good work! :)
I purchased the Peloton Row to try it out, but it had a loud rattling noise from the beginning (almost like something inside was assembled incorrectly). That, and the fact that the sensor in the seat didn't work for the form assist, made me send it back. For $3,200 I was expecting a superior piece of equipment, but was sadly let down. I ended up purchasing the Aviron Strong Series rower and have loved it. The games feel a bit gimmicky to me, but the option to stream programming has made my workouts fun.
Ive been rowing for 6 years now absolutely love it, Im looking for a new one at the moment as mine needs an upgrade, im really struggling on what to get, the main things i want is something durable commercial standard and high resistance, but not with a big 60inch tv attached to it 😂 some of these monitors put me off i want something small that just shows spm, watts, calories, hr etc anyone got any recommendations?
Yeah, concept 2 adds a new feature like once every 10 years lol. But no they aren’t phasing out at all… they are actually growing faster. Most people still don’t want to pay $2k for a rower
I'm leaning towards the Aviron because of the games/gamification elements. My family must be all ADHD because no one can sit still to row a boat or watch those boring exercise instructor videos TBH. What's the point of buying a $1-2K machine if you use it for 1 week? The Aviron workout games actually look really fun.
I have a question about positioning: I've noticed that there were rowers that had the "boat feel" (feet positioned very close together on the machine) like on most wooden water rowres (my initial interest) . While some rowers took the "comfy for men" approach, with a wider space between the foot holders, that turned into a wider space for the legs in general, giving me a more comfortable feel in general, and perhaps giving me subconscious signal that this rower was more steady . Whatever it was, I enjoyed rowing for a longer time on rowers on which I could "spread my legs" (a little more), and that did not give me the feeling like I was a sardine squashed in a box -- like actual rowing did for me , when I tried that out . TL;RD : My heart says : get a wooden water rower . My body says : get a rower that feels comfy from head to toe . What are your thoughts on this ?
I pretty much agree with that. Water Rowers are definitely a bit more uncomfortable and harder to use with good positioning. Aviron is the best when it comes to this since their foot positioning can be manually adjusted.
I have a Peloton Row since January 18. Not a single problem, love it. Row every day and enjoy the classes.

Definitely glad I held off on the Peloton.
Hydrow wave- great price and awesome machine and classes
Really love my Aviron. Keeps us from being bored.

Best rower to me is the Stamina Body Trac Glider 1052. You can actually row like in a boat, not just one single handle.
So Concept2 & WaterRower were absent from this update, no doubt because they haven't changed much. Will they phase out?

Do you have any idea of when the Peloton Rower will arrive in the UK??
