@@zaxckrandax6916 When did I comment any kind of hate? It wasn't me to brought up Destiny. Ive said it once and I'll say it again: they are both excellent games. I personally prefer Destiny but that doesn't really matter here. What does matter is that I'm trying to get rid of this idea that Destiny is somehow a creatively lackluster creation that doesn't deserve anyone's attention, a sentiment I have found particularly prevalent in the Warframe community. This is probably because a lot of Destiny 2 refugees went to WF in the Curse of Osiris days and haven't bothered to look back into the game, even after it has been infinitely improved (even as a base product, without dlcs). It's fine if they still don't like it, but there are people claiming the game is still how it was then, which is blatantly false. Misinformation is the enemy here.
@@viktorsikorvich3593 Warframe is pathetically easy my dude. The toughest thing WF has is Sorties. Not to mention there isn't a single good boss battle in the game. Law suit? You kidding me? They are *drastically* different. If you had played D2 you might realize that. WF has a ton of weapons, Warframes, Arcanes, Amps, mods, everything. BUT, the actual complexity of those items generally stops at rule of cool, and the will never be a time when raw damage *isn't* the best option. That's why Warframes like Nyx are on the bottom rung of popularity right now - she doesn't do much when it comes to damage. Why control a crowd when you can simply wipe it out with one button press? Warframe is about grinding for the sake of grinding. It's less about fighting large, singular bosses and instead about wiping the floor with swathes of glass cannon trash mobs. The most complex weapons like Throwing Spears and Gunblades are generally worse then the simple ones like Dread or Soma. D2 has weapons like Malfeasance and Riskrunner - incredibly powerful in the right situations. There's also weapons like whisper of the Worm that reward high skill play and Huckleberry which rewards speed and reflexes. TLW challenges your hip firing skills and becomes meta when used right. The endgame, as of now, is a hefty ~20-30 hour series of just activity unlocks from the end of the Forsaken campaign to the unlocking of Bergusia Forge. You are allowed to like what you want, and there isn't a single person in the world who needs you to enjoy something you don't. But denying the successes of the one and ignoring the faults of the other are going to get you nowhere.
When ballas took lotus and the tenno just grips her helmet looking nervously around like a scared child i always break a little inside xD One of the few games that actually made me care about children for once!
Yeah, my tenno is basically a young little girl seemingly dreading the loss of her mother which really hit the soft-spot for me xD Its ok though since later on we get probably the most emotional/badass scenes in this game with umbra. Im wondering though, since Teshin and Isaah are both Dax, they have some connection somehow or did they just serve in the same elite military division? DAMMIT, im booting up warframe again and checking on him in the relay xD
It was so sad, seeing the pain and agony Excal Umbra went through, trapped in that vicious cycle.. I was happy to know that the Operator gave him peace. EDIT: WHOA, I've never had so many likes on a comment, like EVER! xD This is a first for me LOL
I find it really interesting how, at the very end when we meet the new Lotus and all the Sentients shoot lasers at the operator (who is out of their warframe), the Umbra frame jumps forward and saves them, out of it's own instinct to help those that helped it.
16:47 this was the moment when i started to cry while playing so much emotion ... he lost so much and had so much pain ...but in that scene it felt like we game him his deserved rest from all the suffering
Your opinion my opinion is thst warframe is trash lore trash, the only thing you like about this game is for the female warframers boobs and butt, and yes ive played warframe
What's even more horrifying, he likely ATE his son, and ate him alive. Rhino Prime entry speaks of how Rhino Prime broke loose and was eating and killing everyone in it's path until it was calmed down by a Tenno in cryosleep by chance. Got to remember, Warframes are just the Infestation perfected in the vanity of the Orokin. They are still monsters. This is why Infested with sentience are confused on why we would kill our own kind. Why Helminth sees us as it's master when we are in our Warframe because the Warframes are made from the Helminth strain.
I feel like Lotus has got something planned, something big. Ballas mentioned something about her foreseeing this. I have a feeling the Lotus intentionally put the purple orb in our Oribiter right before the Apostasy prologue for a good reason. She may have also lead us to Umbra, so we can start gathering allies(possibly for the war against the Sentients in the Tau system). Knowing Lotus, this time, she would infiltrate the Sentients and betray them again(destroying the Sentients like she did with the Orokins). Although she might also betray the Tenno, because her motivations are still very unclear, and she tends to hide a lot of information from our Operators.
The warframes are tortured souls. Through the Tenno children forming a psychic bond with them, they gained their freedom from their orokin captors. There was no devilry or evil in the way the Tenno controlled the warframes unlike what the orokin thought. The Tenno operator keeps pushing to ease umbras mind so he can give him freedom to seek his revenge against ballas The story is actually pretty great.
The fact that umbra saves the operator by jumping in and pulling him back because even he is scared of the lotus sentient doing some harm to the operator is a signal of how dangerous the sentient enemy is. I can imagine him heavily breathing in fear and anger as he is when ballas is playing that game with him and about to kill his son
17:24 It's pretty interesting how much having empathy can help. Makes sense the Orokin could never get them under control; empathy and kindness are far from them aside from Margulis. The Orokin and all their brutal methods and advanced technology couldn't get the Warframes under control. Yet the Tenno's empathy did because they pretty much lost everything just like the people who became the Warframes did.
4:50 Random bit, but the start of the score here is the same as when you finally merge with Umbra. In this first attempt to control him it takes a much darker, grittier vibe to it symbolizing Umbra’s animalistic state of mind. While later at 18:24 (Even though that part is skipped.) it turns to a much more triumphant and noble score to symbolize what Umbra truly is. A warrior, and a revenant.
My going theory is that Lotus has been using us this entire time to complete the mission she was intended to finish in the first place. To pit us against the remaining factions in the origin system and whittle them away to make the coming sentient invasion easier. She hasn't been trying to help anyone, she has been out to remove any sign of a threat for control.
Well if she indeed wanted the Sentients to win She could have killed us in the first place Sentients are stronger than others, they know that via adaptation. The Tenno along with the void is their weakness yet Lotus freed us so not only did they release the Warframes, but also the Void Demons Do you think Lotus is that dumb to use their weakness as their weapon? They may errase the easy junk but they can't take away the Void Demons
She even made the Tenno stronger by doing this So basically, its reverse She didin't weaken the system for the sentients, she sharpened the blade to use against the sentients
@@CrystallizedBlackSkull mhh, however Vhor and Salad where trying to experiment on the warframes, Salad created the Zanuka even. Its possible the Lotus feared the corpus or grineer would eventually be capable of controlling the warframes, so the solution? Pretend you are their only allie and everyone is the enemy, make the whole system unstable, almost collapse the grineer matriarcal system.... Who knows
Although that would've been interesting, I think the reality is different. People seem to forget what happened in the Second Dream. Hunhow was inside Lotus' mind and said so himself and it was her knowing the location of the Tenno that lead the Stalker there. So if he was inside her thoughts, he wouldn't have been surprised by her betrayal beacuse there was no betrayal, he would see the real reasons for her plan and just not say anything. But the way they both reacted to the situation showed what was really going on. That Lotus was trying to help us.
You know what I really like about this story line? The tenno's reaction. Clutching at their surrogate mother's helmet and looking terrified. Despite everything, the empires they've toppled and the wars they've fought, they're still a child.
A.P.G Gaming To hold it in for that long. FOR THAT LONG. If Valkyr underwent heavy experimentation, it may not exceed the brutal mental scarring Umbra always felt as he killed his own son unwillingly.
Cong Vo Umbra was also technically experimented on and Tortured, albeit more mentally then Physically like Valkyr. But the big difference is that Valkyr has a conduit in which she channels her rage (Hysteria) unlike Umbra who is forced to live with it. So Umbra is far more mentally scarred than a Valkyr could ever get... Unless she found the Warframe rule 34... Then it would be debatable...
I'm unsure if greater or worse is the right way to ask these questions, because, at their core, their anger and pain are fundamentally different. Valkyr's rage is more instinctual, wild, and indiscriminate. It's the sort of natural reaction you'd expect from a wild animal in danger. She lashes out at anything and everything. Umbra's anger is far more direct and focused. It's less of a random need to survive and more of a damning hunt for vengeance, combined with the torture of experiencing the same tragedy on loop for years on end.
What really makes the confrontation with Ballas for me is that Umbra seemed content with just sticking him with his sword. But it was the Operator who decided to twist the blade.
Bazbo Bibbins If you Look closely umbra started hesitating and almost let go of the blade after ballas said "I created you" so the operator put his hand on the blade with him and helped him follow through.
Rewatching these Cinematics, make me realize Something, that my Overworked brain could not figure out, after rushing trough The Sacrifice, after 12 hours of work. Excal Umbra, *Is Your* Warframe. To the full extent of the Word, *Is Your.*
What I thought the story was gonna be about when I first played: umbra was a warframe that was made to have to be alive and was mad when he lost a close friend or someone he loved. What the story really was: THEY PUT A WHOLE DUDE TRANSFERRED INTO A WARFRAME WHO KILLED HIS OWN SON AND HAS THAT MEMORY PLAYING 24/7 LIVING WITH THAT PAIN. Always amazes me what the game can do
They didn't transfer him into a Warframe like how Tenno use Transference. The Transference bolt was just so Ballas could communicate and control the Dax soldier without outwardly speaking. "This poison he has given you, it has taken your will away." This is referring to the technocyte virus. The infestation that TRANSFORMED the Dax soldier into a Warframe. Warframes are Dax Soldier's and Tenno who went against Ballas, or were experimented upon with the Technocyte virus. Umbra is that virus perfected. All Warframes after use a different strain that wipes away the personality and memories of the individual transformed so that they are even more dependent on the Tenno.
Honestly watching Cortana leave the Chief was the saddest thing I've ever seen. Lotus just up and left and the Operator didn't even lift a finger to stop Ballas.
@@localblacksamurai agreed Cortana felt more meaningful, when Lotus left I was like wtf just happened. I love both games but I do agree Cortana was more heart tugging
Christopher Santos yeah and since we got so many anti sentient abilitys on umbra we might go there sooner then we tought and they have been talking about this couple of years back a new system outside ours
This is why I've been supporting Warframe since it's Beta days, where it was pretty much Just the Excalibur Warframe...... and now..... LOOK AT IT!!!! It is still growing, Still evolving. The Warframe lore is now slowly revealing more and more of the Frames, the characters, even Ordis has gotten that maintenance/Upgrade (though I'm probably the only player who enjoys Ordis's random "Glitchy" personality.). I'm mainly curious about if we will see other frames get something similar to "Umbra" Excalibur. If anyone has read The Codex entries of Rhino Prime and Ember Prime, those 2 give a sense of "what happened next?" curiosity.
I agree with you but part of me wants wants excalibur to be the only umbra waframe. I feel that if they add more like him then it will diminish his uniqueness. Plus(so far) in the warframe lore Excalibur umbra is the only one of his kind if i remember correctly
Imagine if Lotus was playing us all along and us killing ballas was part of the sentients original plans of destroying the orokin empire, so now that ballas is dead she can stop pretending now and kill off the tenno/call in other sentients to help her with it.
Yeah but that's what i mean, so lotus just sits around pretending that she forgets who she is until the orokin grow the balls to leave the void and show themselves, and now *bam* dead.
Maybe Ballas didn't show himself until now? Maybe it's been one long game of chess waiting for the orokin higher-ups to re-expose themselves so she can pick them off? I'm just guessing at ideas here.
THECHAOS111 Honestly, we can make guesses or ideas but we may have to wait for the next update. 2 top theories as to why she is acting like this now is that she had her Lotus history memory wiped and sorta forgot about us when she was "released" by Ballas. Or She being brainwashed/mindcontrolled by the "Mother". I don't think she would willing betray us unless she was secretly being a double agent, which I doubt, or trying so save "someone" by pretending to be controlled.
Would be cool to see more sentient umbra frames in the future. You’ll have to earn their trust, help them heal mentally from their trauma and get their revenge or find peace in order to use them
After I saw the large sentient in the opening cutscene I went "Yup that's lotis" and so far, I've never seen anyone else react like that, I'm sure there are many but I've never met one
Nah man, infact The Stalker himself has allied with Hunhow, Natah's father whiches the sentient destroyer of worlds. Oh he ded with the War sword that linked his soul, so things got complicated...
I had called out a Wisp spectre. And during the last bit of the cutscene she was able to move and the first thing she did was ATTEMPT TO SOL GATE LOTUS.
This kinda reinforces a point I want to make in regards to umbra warframes. I would love them if we made a umbral forma or something similar then we went on a mini quest to regain all these lost memories and old personalities
Oh my... I remember my playthrough in this quest... That last wrath choice "Squirm, like the maggot you are." It resonated with me. I screamed those words to screen... It brings back memories. "No, orokin ghost. You didn't created me. You just tortured me. Tortured us. Trapped him in an eternal nightmare, trying to control him with pain and suffering. But you shall not die orokin ghost. No no no... You shall live, and struggle. You shall only squirm! So, squirm! Like the maggot you are!"
THIS bit. this story part is why I loved warframe. Its emotional impact but also telling lore that will make the community spectate and think. It's easily memorable and this Is why i play warframe. Not just for the sweet gameplay but also the story segments
Great, now I only have few questions: 1. What happened to Ballas' sword we were supposed to get? 2. Considering the size, isn't Skiajati supposed to be two-handed Nikana? And 3. WHERE THE F**K IS HYDROID PRIME TRAILER!!?
Yeah considering we blasted Vor in half and made a total mess of Alad V, I really don't think a solid stab in the lung is enough to take somebody out in this verse xD
Densoro he's not a fighter boss. He uses the sentients as his warriors. The orokin didn't care for super resilient bodies as they changed them often. Makes sense he would be kinda fragile.
Adriel Klein she could have called to the tenno as a trap similar to how hunhow bluffed about knowing where lua was before lotus got tricked into showing the location to him or how the twin queens told tenshin to lead the tenno to them so they could put the tenno in the ritual to body snatch us. Lotus could have been told to lead the tenno to ballas to install that device into ordis who is our last line of protection.
What I find interesting about Umbra is that he's not just another Warframe, all others are just infested objects for the Tenno who's minds died a long time ago and who's stories are carried over not by themselves but by previous users. Umbra is a tortured soul forced to relive the death of his son again and again, until he found the peace he needed. I think of him as a foster father to my Tenno, right after Lotus went away, he's less a Warframe and more of a... person if that makes sense.
11:54 So I'm looking at that Komi board and Ballas' pieces have no way of being in their current potions and having a 0-2 lead. He has 7 pieces on the board and hasn't lost a piece, You have 7 on the board and have lost two. That means you have placed had 9 pieces. Where are Ballas' other 2 pieces? Also with only 7 pieces on the board in the potions there in they could have only taken a single piece. Ballas you're a dirty cheater.
@@vynonyoutube1418 Well, apparently, getting implanted with Sentient technology is enough to save life even from such a grave injuries... though Ballas is not impressed, grumbling, how Natah took away his perfect death.
From the first time i played WF on PC, it had next to nothing storywise, and mainly focused on PvP. Now, years later, it has a slowly evolving and revealing narrative about the origins of us Tenno and our Warframes. At first, we did not know who or ehat the Orokin were, besides going to the void every now and then. We did not know where the infested came from, much less anything about the Grineer or Corpus factions. Hell, we didnt know what happened to Earth's moon! As we venture forth into the unknown, we pull back the curtain of time and rediscover our lost selves in stories, documents, and lore, and this video shows how our 'Warframes' were truly built by the Orokin. This, my fellow Tenno, THIS is why i love Lore in games. Theres so much we can learn AND CONTINUE to speculate and discuss. The Sacrifice offers us a brief, unique glimpse as an old Dax is turned into one of our catalysts, albeit tragically. For me, it leaves food for thought, because now i wonder... whats the unique story of all other warframes? Yeah, some of them, like Mirage, Titiana, Limbo, Rhino, and Valkyrie are explained in documents, but what of the others, like Zephyr, Oberon, or Excalibur?
I like now Lotus's chamber looks straight out of the masoulem of the arbiters in high charity from halo 2 And the pod that she comes from looks exactly like the holder that houses the arbiter's traditional sangheili harness Hell that design looks even more Faithfull to the og games than halo 2 anniversary did

The Dax were basically the Orokin's loyal soldiers, oathbound to serve and obey.

I find it really interesting how, at the very end when we meet the new Lotus and all the Sentients shoot lasers at the operator (who is out of their warframe), the Umbra frame jumps forward and saves them, out of it's own instinct to help those that helped it.

25:11 Great time for jokes, Ordis.
The warframes are tortured souls. Through the Tenno children forming a psychic bond with them, they gained their freedom from their orokin captors.
There was no devilry or evil in the way the Tenno controlled the warframes unlike what the orokin thought. The Tenno operator keeps pushing to ease umbras mind so he can give him freedom to seek his revenge against ballas
The story is actually pretty great.
Umbra has a sad sad story, got me teared up when we got him to calm and became him. Very great warframe too
The fact that umbra saves the operator by jumping in and pulling him back because even he is scared of the lotus sentient doing some harm to the operator is a signal of how dangerous the sentient enemy is.
The best scene of the whole lore
16:48
4:50 Random bit, but the start of the score here is the same as when you finally merge with Umbra. In this first attempt to control him it takes a much darker, grittier vibe to it symbolizing Umbra’s animalistic state of mind. While later at 18:24 (Even though that part is skipped.) it turns to a much more triumphant and noble score to symbolize what Umbra truly is. A warrior, and a revenant.
Thats a really neat and easily overlooked thing, glad you caught it!
Well if she indeed wanted the Sentients to win
She could have killed us in the first place
Sentients are stronger than others, they know that via adaptation. The Tenno along with the void is their weakness yet Lotus freed us so not only did they release the Warframes, but also the Void Demons
Do you think Lotus is that dumb to use their weakness as their weapon? They may errase the easy junk but they can't take away the Void Demons
She even made the Tenno stronger by doing this
So basically, its reverse
She didin't weaken the system for the sentients, she sharpened the blade to use against the sentients
Wait if Lotus is acting like shes on. ballas side, then backstabs him???
You know what I really like about this story line?
The tenno's reaction. Clutching at their surrogate mother's helmet and looking terrified. Despite everything, the empires they've toppled and the wars they've fought, they're still a child.
I remember back when I started playing, did not see these story missions coming my way, god did they change the whole game.
Not sure whether his pain and anger are greater than Valkyr
Edit: There are a lot of these
A.P.G Gaming To hold it in for that long. FOR THAT LONG. If Valkyr underwent heavy experimentation, it may not exceed the brutal mental scarring Umbra always felt as he killed his own son unwillingly.
Yvez Mathrim Matocinos and being repeating that memory, over and over again, torturing himself unwillingly every day.
Cong Vo
Umbra was also technically experimented on and Tortured, albeit more mentally then Physically like Valkyr.
But the big difference is that Valkyr has a conduit in which she channels her rage (Hysteria) unlike Umbra who is forced to live with it.
So Umbra is far more mentally scarred than a Valkyr could ever get... Unless she found the Warframe rule 34... Then it would be debatable...
A.P.G Gaming yea his pains are greater then valk
4:46 - 5:15

ACT Ascetic it reminds me of Go
What I thought the story was gonna be about when I first played: umbra was a warframe that was made to have to be alive and was mad when he lost a close friend or someone he loved.
"This poison he has given you, it has taken your will away."
This is referring to the technocyte virus.

The War Without (The Lotus) in the Tau system
Introduces the home and history of the sentients as the operator fights to restore the lotus as the mother of the tenno.
Christopher Santos yeah and since we got so many anti sentient abilitys on umbra we might go there sooner then we tought and they have been talking about this couple of years back a new system outside ours
I've done the quest 3 times now. But it still gives me chills
I agree (exept the more umbras because umbra Excalibur’s just supposed to be unique) and also, I also enjoy ordis’s glitchy personality.
Imagine if Lotus was playing us all along and us killing ballas was part of the sentients original plans of destroying the orokin empire, so now that ballas is dead she can stop pretending now and kill off the tenno/call in other sentients to help her with it.
THECHAOS111 Well orokin are almost all dead and if they are some survivor they can't really fight...just escape in the void and wait
Yeah but that's what i mean, so lotus just sits around pretending that she forgets who she is until the orokin grow the balls to leave the void and show themselves, and now *bam* dead.
She had 1000 opportunity to accomplish that, so why now? She could have even used the Stalker right?
You’ll have to earn their trust, help them heal mentally from their trauma and get their revenge or find peace in order to use them
The part where you become one with umbra is one of my favorite video game moments and my favorite from this game.
After I saw the large sentient in the opening cutscene I went "Yup that's lotis" and so far, I've never seen anyone else react like that, I'm sure there are many but I've never met one

DE honestly managed to make one of the greatest moments here in gaming history, period.
I think the lotus backstabs the tenno honestly i think in the future there will be a fight against her
Why did she called for you in the first place? She wanted you to find Umbra, she wanted you to defeat Ballas. She is still there, trapped.
I agree with Adriel.
Adriel Klein no! She needs to die and the Orokin Empire needs to be restored!
It would be cool as a final boss
What I find interesting about Umbra is that he's not just another Warframe, all others are just infested objects for the Tenno who's minds died a long time ago and who's stories are carried over not by themselves but by previous users. Umbra is a tortured soul forced to relive the death of his son again and again, until he found the peace he needed. I think of him as a foster father to my Tenno, right after Lotus went away, he's less a Warframe and more of a... person if that makes sense.
I see you went to the ol' Vay Hek method of insulting there at the end
Watching this made me wanna catch back on warframe thanks alot man loved it
