Love the videos. Have you heard of hugelkulture? It's where you bury wood, usually in mounds, for gardening. Great way to get rid of that extra material if the client is up for it.

Amsiol dry lube or WD-40 gel lube will help quite up that hinge or latch squeak. May have to do it periodically but should help.
There also may be an adjustment to tighten up your latch.
