Actually my IBM Power S814 keeps running at a constantly high FAN speed. Not only at startup or reboot but constantly. The room temperature is very low, I'm wondering if it is the case with you

Check the asmi, it's probably running in maximum frequency mode, chuck it into efficiency mode and it will shut up

strange is 970 c.p.u related apple quad g5,same overrun occurs if certain complaints unremedy,goes into flap of need too then shit down,speed fan,strange 'traot'? in powerpc the motorolla has certain 'left off'things in 'design'why no 'go back'how later,maybe now like,remedy needs too 'compensate'? Caps ream,yunno?

I had the same thing recently. it turned outthe rpm sensor of one fan was broken. you might want to check that.
