For me it's wild to see that IBM leaves the other side of the mainboard PCB literally empty, instead of either having it populated for future upgrades and going dual proc or just having a smaller single socket mainboard in the first place and having a blade like setup. It's just a massive PCB with half it of empty. But I really love the design of these, just looks so cool and menacing. I even like how the PSUs are setup in the center. It's really made for a clear windtunnel like airflow.

Back in the late 80's, as a young trainee RPG programmer, I used a 5250 terminal bigger than the entire Power 10 System ;)

Beautiful machine, Power 10 is a special architecture. Thanks for introducing it to us. I hope IBM listens to your packaging waste suggestions.

I use those plastics that the packaging has to calm stress and anxiety, I start to open and close them until I calm down, like anti-stress balls

Would love to see a video (or if you know of a link) on how to do a setup/first boot of a P10 with HMC. What you need to plug things into, going through the HMC setup/configuration :-)

Thank you for the suggestion, I will have a think about it. My concern is that this would need to be quite a long video and those don't tend to be very popular.

@@Rafael-vi4to Most popular are AIX for running software like the Epic medical management software, or IBM i (formerly AS/400, formerly System 36) for banking, insurance, manufacturing etc.

That eBMC is interesting. From the back panel, it looks like there is space for a Display Port connector to be attached to the eBMC card in the future. The PCI bus card bracket has the cut out for a Display Port Connector! Could we finally be getting the ability to directly attach a monitor to the eBMC in place of something like the Operations Console? Or am I just completely out of my mind and that is a different type of connector that is IBM proprietary?
