I was in a small local furniture store talking with the owner about buying a very expensive dining table. I had my heart set on a particular table and he had it in stock. In walks a guy he knew from a social club who wanted to buy a cheap bunkbed and I was forgotten. I drove to the nearest town and found that same table at a cheaper price with free delivery.
Then you take a photo of said table with competitor's signage on it, and post it to idiot store's FB page, with info about discount etc. ;-) What a deal! Got this here instead of THERE.
That Deeds just kept getting worse. I honestly can't bring myself to feel bad for him in the end. His behavior was atrocious
The furniture story reminds me of the scene in "Pretty Woman" where Vivian had to get a dress. She walks into a store and was rebuffed. She came back later with several large shopping bags "You work on commission, right? Big mistake!"
"Big mistake! Huge!". I LOVE that scene!
That was a great scene. But I never understood why she didn't take a taxi home to grab some jeans and a top so she didn't have to run around in "working" clothes. But then it made the film more fun, I guess.
My dad literally had a situation just like this while working at a department store back (Sears's old home office store, pre-tower) in the '60s. He actually talked to the "old bum" who some of his coworkers tried to run out of the store... guy turned out to be a multi-millionaire who just didn't give a heck about owning things or looking fancy anymore. Apparently the guy decided he wanted to travel the country, and my dad ended up getting the commission on selling him a very nice motorcycle with all the bells and whistles and some riding gear to boot. They were all rather sore with him, lol. Losers.
Theres a store here in Australia and if you've ever gone in you'd know some of their things a ridiculously expensive, so I walked in and asked the lady behind the counter how much a bag was that I wanted to get my daughters (aged 3 and 4 at the time) she looked at me smug face saying "ooo that'll be $80", and went to put it back and go back to the register. I replied "ahh excuse me I'm buying that bag and another thank you." She looked at me wide eyed while I swiped my card and wished her a great afternoon, felt so happy but god damn that was an expensive happy. Told me Mrs and Sister in law and we all had a laugh about it, and yes those bags are still doing great today.
In the first story, I would have brought the receipt from the other store, so the manager of the first one would have an exact dollar amount of his lost sale!
I thought the same thing.
It's the Julia Rober's Pretty Woman move "You work on commission right? Big mistake. Big. Huge! I have to go shopping now."
Yeah, post it on Yelp! or Google reviews with the story.
I want to hear the story about "my kids walked in on a couple having adult fun time". Lol
Yes, sounds educational. We all need to hear that one.

Hotels are all computerized now. It is actually a common thing, so much so many hotels Standard Operating Procedures for when it happens.

Iam glad to be here today a fter a scary thunderstorm that had full grown trees doing the Macarena Thank you, Red Wheel for these tales of inept managers, and employees doing their best to stay sane snd keep their jobs.
That first story is the best case of don't judge someone's income because of their age because they might be making your sales
Last story, a good boss is always worth their weight in gold, the difficulty is finding one. At one place where i worked ( for ten years ), there were so many rows as to how the job should or shouldn't be done, that eventually i left for pastures new. The glowing reference i was promised was full of grammatical and spelling mistakes and they even spelled my name wrongly. I had been a qualified, foreman gardener with seven people working directly under me. I didn't use their reference, instead i got a job working for British Rail and was there for just over 27 years. Now, happily retired so i am my Own Boss.
Ok so who else cracked up at 'Mine excrement doth not have an odour'?
I was an e4 straight out of basic training and I got stationed at Fort Hood, TX. I had $10k in my account due to bonuses and no spending at basic and needed furniture. I walked in a furniture store and did an immediate about face when when of the snarky salespersons said “ he is enlisted, he can’t afford anything here”! The next place was more than helpful👍
1st story....that my friends is a "Pretty Woman" moment. It happens when someone walks into a store and is ignored or even asked to leave because they assume the person cant afford to buy their stuff....then the person reveals they can and mention they lost a sale/commission
Story #2 why on earth did the hotel not fire the scumbag employee immediately?
I work in a hotel with this same issue. Sometimes, places are so short-handed that a horrificly toxic employee will not be fired because they need to fill the spot that badly.
I would not have accepted the written reprimand of using inappriate language on an abusive bullying supervisor.
He drove him to explode in anger.
So yeah, been there.
Dunning-Kruger effect ... The Dunning-Kruger effect is a hypothetical cognitive bias stating that people with low ability at a task overestimate their ability.
Good afternoon RedWheel
Good afternoon everyone 😊😊🙂
And how sweet is it to be able to say 'worth it'? lol
Afternoon
I love the writing skills of the second story 😂😂😂
I've asked someone if his family tree was a telephone pole.
... True to form, he didn't understand despite 3 people trying to explain it in increasing detail. And at least one literal picture. I still wonder if I was accidentally correct there.
Keep up the great work ! I really enjoy your Videos
Another great set of stories RedWheel. Thanks for sharing. Please stay safe.🏴😷😁👍. Have a great day everyone
The flushing comment was absolute perfection.
to the hotel story, I'll never understand why people feel the need to nuke a bridge while they are still on in.
I'm retired. I dress in a T-shirt and jeans. Just like my Ranching Community does.
👍🏻
honestly? OP in the last story shouldn't of gotten that letter
he lost his crap sure, but the MANGER NEARLY KILLED SOME PEOPLE!!!!
he deserved t be told-off!
am i missing something?!
Last story: a reprimand???? . . .when hell freezes over.
I think it was because it was infront of customers. The OP even said he deserved it. I mean, telling someone the world would be better if their mother had flushed them down the toilet is really kinda bad...
Don't be too quick to judge people or guess their station in life. There have been *_several_* millionaires that dressed like bums. One lady who was worth something like a hundred million dollars and was a 'bag lady'. She pushed a shopping cart around the city collecting trash like the crazy cat lady in the Simpsons and went home to her mansion every night. She was probably insane but my point stands.
many years ago I went to camping world to guy a diesel generator. They just opened, I was the only customer. I stood at the counter for maybe 5 min. there was 3 people behind the counter. No one would look at me. I said I see your busy I was going to buy a generator but I'll go elsewhere. Went to mon & pop shop & spent $8500.00.
I feel like the second story would work for prorevenge.
I have 2 auto dealership stories that are very similar to the first story here ... maybe I should sit down and write them one day
By "notified letter" did you mean notarized letter??
It is so dumb to act like a jerk to young people because you think they don't have money when you're a business owner. If you're planning on keeping your business open for a while even if they don't have money now they will eventually and if you treat them like a jerk they're never gonna come to your store when they're older and do have money
Morning Redwheel!!
Guess what????
My kids are back at their first day of school!!!!!!
🎆 🎇🧨🎇🎆
I'll be catching up some sleep, been up since yesterday, and not even coffee will keep me up lol. This gives me a almost full day of listening to all your missed posts :)
*collapses into the trash heap that used to be called home*
Wait.. The hotel story, idk that seems either made up or it has to be, at minimum, 20yrs ago.. It is illegal for any job to do what they did and send information like that.. When I say illegal I mean HIGHLY!! Up to a $100's of thousand dollar fine and then sued for lost wages etc.. I do miss those days when you could do more than just say, WOULD REHIRE or WOULD NOT REHIRE... 🤣🤣

My bad, 511 now.
When I saw 12, at first thought 12k. By end of day Redwheels posts tend to have 10k+ views. A few even have 500k and one has over million. Redwheel Posts a lot of stories each day, though we're still debating if some other names are Redwheel too.
@@sirxanthor thanks for the update I’m at 609 now
Gave a thumbs up, forgot the first time 😂. I just had to reply, because this comment felt like it's going to turn into one of those everyone replies to, and gets as many views, thumbs up, as the original video. I think the highest comments I ever got, was on Reddit, at 50k last I looked.
Pi**ed is not pi**ed off or P.O’d
It is in the US, not in the UK.
@@jgw5491 ? You have to love how the USA is the only “truth” of the English language. SMH
@@matthewwilson9749 Where did you get that? I pointed out that "pissed" has different usage in the US than in the UK. It means "angry" in the US. In the UK "pissed" with no "off" means drunk. That's not true? So are you saying that UK usage is the only "truth" in the English language? smh
@@jgw5491 he’s reading pi**ed as P.O’d. There’s no off, is what I’m saying
@@matthewwilson9749 Ah. I didn't catch that this is the way he is saying it.
First this is just my opinion, the title s**k.
I bet your 120k subscribers like your titles better.
