- Windows 7 32 Bit To Windows 10 64 Bit as a 2020 Free upgrade is still possible without data loss at time of writing. If you have a genuine Windows 7/8/8.1 license, it can be done as shown in this tutorial, but there are many precautionary steps to take as you should not blindly trust Windows built-in direct upgrade pathway.

Absolutely no need to shrink your volume. It just ciomplicates things and makes this guy feel important. Just download win10 installation tool and follow the prompts. very simple.

Man you were using windows 7 and it said only 32 bit processor you had, then you shrink vol and check properties in about section and now your on windows 10 home with processor 32 bit system 64 bit processor ? You switched your pc or something because it’s not on the same version of windows

Which app, RUFUS, Magic Jelly Bean or the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool? If latter, maybe you don't meet the minimum requirements, or maybe you are missing an update. A couple of years ago, I had to remove some USB flash drives to allow the Windows upgrade to proceed.

update to win10 32 bit is pointless, you can skip this and go direct to 64 bit install... and this is not upgrade it is clean install...

Did this a few days ago and everything worked brilliantly. Now I'm told Windows 10 will expire after a month even though my Windows 7 was a genuine copy. Any advice?
How do you know it was a genuine copy? Reason I'm asking some previous cheap Windows key may have been Volume Licensing keys and after enough activation they don't work anymore. If you are positive its genuine, it should not expire, then you should contact Microsoft with your evidence of purchase.

Windows 7 was on the laptop and bought direct from Acer, the manufacturer. As I mentioned, Windows 10 loaded perfectly, it's just that I'm worried after reading posts here in the UK that it may shut down after a month.

I have a problem after is says waiting for updates it suddenly stop at 27% and after that the message dissapear and I get a black screen with cursour . Ctrl-Alt-Delete didnt worked . What is the correct boot order? How did you get to it? Went from one screen to the next without showing how.

@@JD-gl1gs I played with the boot order and it worked. You can move things around without fear as you can always get back to the boot order screen after a restart. I don't remember what I put to boot first but I did have to rearrange the order. Worked after that.
Another this bro......did you download the ISO file for both 64 and 32 bit or just 64. And if u did it for both do you remember if we can choose between them

Yes. Windows does create some minimum partition anyway for reserve etc. It is always better to have partitions though.
