I’m liking the new editing style! The little tips and stuff really make this feel comprehensive and put together!
I appreciate that very much, thank you!
Thank you Benjie!
Fishing has been off the hook in San Clemente using your set up……everyone in my fishing call list are psyched for the season. Life is Always good in SoCal 😎
Super sick brotha, go get em!!! Tight lines!!
A once in a lifetime session. Glad you were there to experience it
It was super super fun Joe. Can't really call it epic as I was dealing with juveniles...but they were big enough to have a fun fight and the wide open nature of it was just so much fun!
Congratulations Benjie on this session. What an awesome footage. Thanks for sharing this.😊
Thanks Gerard, its been awesome messaging you can't wait for when we get to fish together again!
The single most outstanding day on the water for you my friend.....glad you got this on video because it would be hard to believe........Thank you so much for al your heard work on the water and sharing it with all of us!!!
Always appreciate your comments Leonard, your kindness always brings me joy and gratitude. Thank you!
Hell yeah! I couldn’t help but smile cause of how excited you were! Love the editing!
Thanks John! A bit embarrassing looking back at the footage but it is what it is and that hour was definitely, authentically me. For better or worse lol!
What a surf fishing gift and you had the area all to yourself. Rare sessions like that, you fish til it ends!
Man! Outstanding work. Those fish are generally so elusive and you were nailin em every cast!
Dude, that’s more ghosts from the beach than most see in a lifetime. Killer action!
haha thanks John, I think prior to this session, I had caught a total of 4? Just goes to show you never know what you might run into!
That's 14 more than I've ever caught!
That is a surf fisherman's dream come true. It couldn't have happened to a better person than you Benjie. How Fun was that.
I appreciate that, thank you!
Benji your hype is contagious, it’s gusting 30mph winds in socal today and I’m dying to go fishing now🤣
What a day. A fishermans dream that no one would believe if it wasn't filmed. Congrats!!
Awesome bro glad you did it that's a memory of a lifetime!
If anyone deserves a day like that, it's you my friend! Well done!
I’m surprised you didn’t mention this. What an epic day and video. Loved the excitement you showed.
Thanks Warren, I appreciate you brother!
An absolutely crazy bite! That must be very rewarding for your effort. Your RP knot is much easier to tie and just as good as GT/FG!!
Thanks for sharing your amazingly successful day! That was exciting.
Thank you so much for watching, really appreciate the positivity!
Insane start but kept grinding. Lucky Craft and lucky you produced constant action . Great move and great video. Thanks for sharing. Richard Menifee, California
Dang man. What a session. What can you say except WOW. Congrats, that was amazing to watch
That was an epic open bite of WSB. Just shows keep grinding and it pays off. Awesome video brotha🤙🔥🎣
This was a super rad video! I’m hoping my next beach trips to hit the surf are like this in the next couple weeks! Ive been super hyped watching your videos
Awesome man, go get em! Most important thing is to get out there and put your time in and enjoy the sand therapy. There are days where it's wide open and there are days where we can't buy a bite. But I'd like to think it all evens out in the long run, we just need to do our part!
@@BenjieKimFishing that’s great advice, thank you for being an inspiration!
U DA MAN! I Had many days like you had in the beginning of your video, but never had one ended like yours.
Time to load up the Trifecta tomorrow morning🙏🏽
Thanks Marvin. Yea brotha, this one was gratifying because I very clearly remember wanting to go home after the first part of the day. I was tired and discouraged. But grateful to have made the decision to try one more time. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't. We just never know until we give it a shot. Tight lines.
BTW I’m with CSA, everyone speaks highly about you in our group, no need to ask why, action speaks for its self. 🤙🏽
Nothing like a day that goes absolutely stooooopid. Beautiful day, killer job!
Dude, this is incredible!!!! I'm getting all excited just watching you fish man! This is why you catch fish and I'm skunking... I would've driven home after the first 2-3 hours haha.
haha thanks Martin! Yea don't get me wrong, I almost went home too. And there have been times where I've made that choice. But always grateful for the chance to feel a tug on the end of the line. Hope ur well!
amazing session! Keep em coming!
We live for days like this!!! Good stuff
It's definitely what keeps us casting through the tough days. Thank you!
Awesome day of fishing, keep on grinding see you next time👊👍🎣
Amazing! Epic day! I can feel your enthusiasm! Wow! What a day!
Really appreciate the comment Ken, thank you so much!!
Unreal session! Congrats!!
That's right Benjie keep that grind going brother
Yes sir Victor! Will always do my best!
Hi Benjie! That was an awsome video! I can't believe those white sea bass kept biteing like that! God this video makes me want to get out there and soak my line! Keep up the great content Benjie! Tight Lines!
Thank you so much, much appreciated!!
yoooo!!! craxy session! hwaiting!!
So cool! Thanks for sharing!
Killin it. Good work sir. Also great video
Thanks Ryan, appreciate you brotha!!
Dude that seems like an epic day. 😊
Dangggg wide open bite brotha! Always keep grinding for that crazy bite!!!!
Thanks Dominic! Yup, I know you get it. Can't stop won't stop!
Why can't everyday be this wide open? This is the reason we grind it out until the end.
Man I've barely fished this year...really starting to ramp things up. Can't believe it's already June. Sheesh.
I'll be in touch Greg, let's share the sand!
Beast session. When is the next Sportfishing trip? When the water hits 65. Game on for tuna. Wsb hit like a truck, nice job keeping composure shows the strength of the trifecta lite. Showing us how it’s done. “This is insane” clip had me rolling. Share your sub link?
All time bro!!! What a day!!💪🤙
I'm grateful Matt....I had a blast and glad to share the stoke.
So cool Benjie!
DUDE Nick!! Much love and blessings to you and all the NorCal crew. I hope you're doing well these days.
Thanks for the footage 🤙😎
Tight lines Ralph!!
I'm new to your channel and love your content. Amazing day that we all dream of!! Thanks for sharing
Appreciate the comment, thank you.
Wow what a crazy hour. That's what we live for.
Indeed. Cast for hours and hope for that window of opportunity where it seems like fishing is easy lol.
Captain benji, you are a slayer.
So insane bro! 🔥🔥
It was super fun Josh! I felt like a kid again for a bit!
MOST EPIC DAY SURF FISHING EVER!!!
That’s a deserved reward for the work you put in 💪🏽‼️🍻
Thank you brotha...you know how it is. Some days it works out. Other days we're left dreaming. But for those of us who love this game...it's all part of the process and we love every moment!
@@BenjieKimFishing absolutely ‼️
If you follow “Fisherman’s Chronicles “ I’m taking him yellowtail fishing soon… hopefully we’ll have something to make a video 🍻
@@addicted2fishing119 Oh that's awesome! Yes, Ilan is a really cool dude and super fishy!
@@BenjieKimFishing that’s right, we’re both trying to get our first La Jolla yellowtail 🍻
I need me a sesh like this! 🔥
Dude I'd actually take your 25" Hali over this session. But still one of the funnest surf fishing sessions I've ever had.
Fantastic session!
Thank you!
That’s awesome bro 😎 🎣
EPIC! What a day!
I love the enthusiasm you have in your videos. Keep up the great work. Please let me know where you got that fish measuring tape. Thanks!
Insane Benjie!!! that was amazing. I'm on the Amigo soon, I will shoot you a report my friend.
How fun is that nice action 👍🏻I need to get out there
I hope you can get out there, Summer is rolling in and the best is yet to come. tight lines!
Awesome day on the water!!
Maybe not the best day ever but possibly the funnest day I've ever had on the surf!
Worlds Guinness records 🙌🏽👏🏽🤙🏽 😂Good stuff bro
haha no way man. Just a super fun fishing session! Tight lines!
Hell Yeah Benjie!!!
Thanks Gary!!
Truly Amazing!
Thank you Brian, it was a really fun day!
Absolutely Insane!!!!!!!!
Thank you, it was a super fun day!
Man oh man, that's a once in a lifetime day! Way to stick with it.
nice trough on that second beach!
You must’ve had good timing with the WSB. The harbors participate in raising these fish then releasing them. If I recognize that jetty and breakwall….I remember fishing the jetty on the other side and got me one of those small Seabass😁 btw. Good talking to you at the recent 2024 PCS show at OC fairgrounds!
Right on! I'm currently on a WSB pattern north of there. lots of 25-26 inchers. Lost a few LC's on 15lb leader. One thing, they seem to require a bit more attention reviving before release. had a couple wash up on me.
748 Super Glow Cherry Dine for bigger ones 🤫
What beaches? Im still trying to get my first.
Excellent job, if you're on em, it means you're putting in the work and you're committed to the process. Much respect on your hard work!
Way to keep at it Benjie 👍. I also enjoyed your previous video release where you caught a bunch of shaker Halibut.
PS : I believe just south of where you were fishing there's outlet for a Marina where you might catch larger Halibut. Zoom in on Google maps you should find it.😊
Where is it, bro?
Appreciate the support and positive vibes, thank you!
Had similar experience several years ago. Suggest you try that same spot, same time of day at similar tide for next few tide cycles. Fish returned for us for 3 tide cycles and 2 to 3 days each cycle. We also caught a few over 28 inches and one guy got spooled.
Thanks for sharing that experience. Really interesting and pretty significant info when it comes to trying to piece together the puzzle of why they are at certain places at certain times. I'll never have it fully locked down but I'll never stop trying!
Awesome nice catch.
thank you and tight lines!
Hey what’s up man you’re killing it out there good stuff 🔥I’m new to surf halibut fishing since we’re in season now, do you have any beaches you recommend ? Thanks so much btw I’m in socal 👍
wow what a day seabass from the shore
It was a fun day, would've been funner if they were about 10 to 12 inches bigger lol. But just so much fun and at the end of the day, that's why we fish, to just be out there and get some fishing therapy. At least for me.
man that water and that trough is epic... they come in and eat sand crabs sometimes too....
Now that's a session for the books
Totally unexpected and just really, really fun!
Wow amazing I wouldn’t know when to stop to lol great job .. what size pole is that
baby one 😎💯✌no halibuts though must be bait around
I actually saw some halibut going airborne past the break and just out of casting distance...
What a day!
Just Wow!!!
🤙🤙
Even though they’re not legal, it still is a lot of fun! 👍🤙🎣
Exactly! I can't say this is truly epic because they were all juvenile. But still rare to get into a jerk bait bite like that from the surf and just so much fun!
Awesome... what is WSB legal length these days?
badass video 👍
Thanks Michael, tight lines!
wow good shit bro
i saw in a previous video that you like to have carolina rigs for the surf. i had a question about casting with it. i seem to get alot of tangles when im casting carolina rigs and was wondering if there was a tip to make it happen less often
This is a tough one for me to answer with practical suggestions as I don't know how you cast and what your setup looks like. Personally, tangles from casting c-rigs have not been an issue for me. If I'm using a longer leader, I try to watch my line on the back cast, and follow thru cleanly. I don't believe the c-rig is inherently a rig that's easy to tangle on the cast...but that's just me.
I've definitely had trouble with tangles when my c-rig is IN the water...the key there is to have the appropriate weight for the current and to always watch your line and keep it taut.
🔥 Epic!!!! 🔥
Thanks Peter!!
Way to spank 'em!! Nicely done.
which beach is this? been trying to find a location like this that dont have lots of swimmers, do you have any other suggestion where in so cal around oc area that is fishing friendly?
Thanks.
Awesome !! How long is your leader?
💯🔥🔥🔥 Super Dope!!!!
Thanks Andrew, it was super fun!
Just moved to SanCl. Fisherman, but a newbee to this surf stuff. Generally, how far into the water are you standing making a cast, and how deep is it generally where your cast lands?
Hey Mike! Honestly it's hard to even generalize...it just really depends on day, tide, beach location, and tide. For this session, I was not in the water at all as there was a huge drop-off right at the edge. If you watch my previous video, I was at a different beach where I was stomach deep at some spots.
As for how deep the water is....I'm looking for variations in structure. So sand to reef/rocks. Sand to eel grass. Flat to a sudden drop off.
Sometimes those things are up close and you can cast from shore. Other times you need to work your way out to reach it. Negative tides are my favorite fishing days as those are the days I can walk out onto structure and cast out to places I can't normally reach.
I hope that helps. Tight lines.
Are the halibut still biting? I’m gonna be down there this weekend
what weight are the lucky craft lures i wan to get into some halibut fishing in socal i go to oceanside pier like everyday i caught a 6 pound hali on sardines the other day. you got any tips beside time on the water.
LC110's are 16.7 grams, so little over 1/2 ounce. Congrats on the 6 pounder, honestly tough for any artificial to beat live sardines.
I've got playlists full of videos that are hopefully helpful for some folks who are beginning their fishing journey. Not sure if my videos are for you but would welcome you to check more out. If not, no worries and tight lines no matter what!
wild, all the same damn size traveling in packs... sometimes the fatties come in... plenty fish but no dinner... super dope tho! what fun! cheers...
Yo love your content bro! Is that a new reel? last vid you were fishing a Dawia Fuego.
That is crazy… what a day WSB 😅
It was a fun day, tight lines!
Still looking for my first ever WSB from shore but they’re so hard to come by in my area. I’ve only ever caught one lil one before on a half-day trip but that’s it. I guess they’re called ghosts for a reason, so elusive. Gonna stock up on lucky crafts ASAP tho
I've only caught a WSB once on purpose lol. Every other time I've caught (including this session) has been a pleasant surprise. But they are definitely around and seem to be much more abundant than years past.
As long as you're out there putting in the time, I have no doubt you'll get on em. Tight lines.
@@BenjieKimFishing 100% man. And I’ve recently seen some other guys here in SoCal posting about catching “schoolie” size Seabass inshore and around marinas. So glad to see they’re making a comeback
@@avi_was_here most of the wsb are caught 3 days before and after a full moon but yu neva know, also when there is one, they are stacked!
You are a slayer bro
haha nah Victor. I just love having the chance to get out there. I'm just like everyone else...when we do our part and are lucky enough to have some time to invest...good things can happen sometimes. Appreciate you brotha!
👀 my eyes trying to figure out where you are !!! Lol 😂
haha you just never know what might happen. I had zero expectation that I'd be getting on a bite that day. Go figure lol. I'll keep doing my part though and keep grinding and keep casting!
Great catching! I really like that lip gripper, what brand is that if I may ask?
It's Daiwa but I bought it in Japan a little while ago and not sure if its sold here in the states.
Where was this ?? I usually go to cabrillo beach during negative tide sandy bottoms always produce for me. I actually went out and bought one of your preferred set ups for surf fishing from non other than sav on about a year ago and slayed! Love your content you taught me how to fish for halibuts. Love your content bro!
doheny beach
Hi Harrison thanks so much for the kind words and most importantly, it's really cool that you've gone out and put in some work and found success as a result. Great job and keep up the great work!
I don't specify locations but this was in Orange County. Tight lines!
You hit the honey hole benjie
I wonder if that was also was a WSB breaching the surface on the right side at 7:50!
BRO ARE U KIDDING!!! 14 white seabass... don't want to ask exactly where this is... but what area or city ? super epic tho.... true fisherman don't give up... ur a legend benjie!!
Are your jerkbaits floaters or suspenders? Looking to start with jerkbaits but don’t know which bouyancy to use.
The Lucky Craft Flash Minnow 110 is a suspending 1 to 2 ft diver.
It really depends on the water column and structure that you're fishing. I fish shallow water in low to negative tides so the LC110 is perfect for that context.
