Saw it at the Broadway Theater today. How they staged and manipulated Kong was UN-BE-LIEV-A-BLE, and the choreography to bring him to life is its own production.
LOVED how I could feel the sound of his roars and ground thumps through my body. The dancing was jazzy and modern, and the visuals and lighting were dramatic and contemporary.
With a black woman cast in the lead and the Anne character portrayed as someone who is not a damsel in distress and does not need men to save her, this DEFINITELY is not the King Kong of Fay Wray. LOVED IT. It's an absolute must see this season.

It’s sad that this show never got an album and that it’s closing. I saw it earlier this year from the second row, and I was simply amazed. Couldn’t stop smiling.
I know some people don’t like this show, and I’m not some normie that only appreciates pop musicals. I am literally obsessed with musicals across all genres and time periods, and yet this is my favorite Broadway I’ve ever seen live. There’s just something so magical about it from start to finish, and Christiani and Eric are both beyond amazing.
Yeah, so it's no longer the best show I've seen live. I saw it a second time and the novelty wore off pretty hard. Still wish we had a cast album though, as the show brings some fond memories.

I went on my schools history trip. One of the places we went was New York City and we got to see King Kong on Broadway. It’s amazing. The roads are so loud that when I plugged my ears I got still hear everything. I got used to it after awhile. The people who controlled Kong did an awesome job. I was so impressed by everything.
this show never got the love it deserved, i’m so sad to see it leave broadway :( i got to see it on a class trip and it was absolutely incredible. a memory i will never forgot

Broadway will love it, but what is great about this song and especially this artist, is that people who don't know or care about Broadway will love it as well! Great talent and energy, go Christiani!
Here a bit after the show closed, thank God King Kong existed, however, it never got a cast album, no archival recording and almost no sign of King Kong ever existing
This was amazing. Going to New York and seeing this was honestly a dream come true. The actors and actresses were jaw-droppingly good, the choreography was astonishing, and King Kong was used masterfully. I would see it again in a heartbeat.

Saw it on broadway last night. It was AMAZING! The stage effects and how they puppeteer Kong was just incredible. It was my first broadway show I’ve ever been to so it’s definitely set the bar very high. I would completely recommend this musical!

Saw the Melbourne production and it was spectacular, including the music. Although I understand they changed some of it for NY. It deserved to be a hit IMHO.

A lot of the songs in this musical were hit or miss but the ones that hit REALLLLY hit. Too bad they’re probably never gonna do an official cast recording

I'd say it gives me hamilton vibes, but since the show first started its testing phase back in 2012, not sure how much has changed since then, it'd be underselling kong. sounding good so far though.
I looked it up, there's like 2 songs from 2012 that are still here, and one is an instrumental, so yeah, Hamilton's effect is definitely showing.
SpaceTree Studios its way more In The Heights vibe than Hamilton, but Miranda tease anyways
This is the opening number and in the show it gives more Newsies vibes. This is way more hip-hop than the actual show.
They changed the vibe of the song for this video, it doesn’t sound like this in the show it wouldn’t make sense with the 20s aesthetic. It’s more fitting to what you’d expect.
It’s definitely more like Newsies because of the whole 1930’s thing
The play should make a soundtrack of the songs.
