I used to recreate scenes from King Kong so if I was able to control Kong in some way, it would be a dream come true!!!😆😆😆
This is the most impressive thing I’ve seen in a long time lol amazing run I’m sorry it ended too soon.
Love this puppet a lot, the scale and style of it is really nice, and the emotion they can get by the robotic aspects to are insane. All I am wondering now, where in the hell did they store this huge ass puppet. Like here me out, this as a arena touring production like Disney on ice could probably make a killing, incorporate more projection mapping and maybe a couple more figures like the snake they used and maybe cut some of the slower beats and musical numbers, they wanna see the ape, give them the ape. Hell even a shortened version keeping the stage production at like universal would be good too, keep everything just cut in educate bits and make it about a hour or so, throw a little King Kong gift shop in and boom money. Just don’t let that killer puppet sit.
I was lucky enough to see the Australian version of King Kong three times. I was rooting for it to succeed on Broadway but I know that it didn’t. I’d still love to see the Broadway version one day though as it’s SO different.
It looks like some of the Kong puppeteer crew got to make the transfer to America though which is great, and I’m glad that’s one thing the reviewers praised!

If I’m gonna do a transformers broadway musical, I rather make costumes out of plastic and have performers doing a transformation sequence for said costume from that to a model vehicle. And most of the performances should be inspired by the ending backup dancers of Just Bieber And Will I Am’s Thatpower!

a little late, ... but what did you think? I saw it too. I say it was the best and worst show I've ever seen. lol. All the technical aspects like the puppets, stage effects, lighting etc. was INCREDIBLE. But the script and music SUCKED :(
accompanist603 I agree with you it was really great but the script was ok and I felt like there was more dialogue than there were songs and the songs weren’t to catchy, But I do think the puppeteering was really great.
