I used to love the fact that not only was Doug left-handed, but they even went out of their way to point it out. I wonder how many other left-handed kids back then appreciated it as well?
joker Clarissa was another great show. The fact that Sam had to climb a ladder to get to Clarissa’s room and talk to her is what I miss. Now all that suffices is a text. The human element is gone and I miss it so much.
thehappiestcamper In a nutshell Doug, Rugrats etc, were the last great era of children’s TV for the last generation to have something resembling a normal childhood.
My favorite Nicktoon ever. The late '80s and early '90s were the golden era of Nickelodeon IMO with shows like Doug, You Can't Do That on Television, Double Dare, Clarissa Explains It All, Salute Your Shorts, Hey Dude, What Would You Do... the list goes on and on not to mention all the Japanese anime they used to show. Now that TeenNick is rerunning episodes on "The Splat" I've been on a "Doug" kick. I've never seen any of the Disney episodes and don't care to - even Jim Jinkins himself has said he prefers the Nick episodes because he was more hands-on with their creation.
The Disney Version is great. I was born in 1996 so I grew up with both the Nickelodeon version and the Disney version. And don't listen to any of the dumb fucks who told you that the Disney version sucks. Because it doesn't.
Jelly: Hi. My name is Jelly Otter. This is my brother Peanut and our baby sister Butter. Let me tell you about ourselves. We love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, our hobbies are swimming, berry picking and playing with our friends. We live with our mom and dad andwe do a dance called the Noodle Dance to solve our problems. And best of all, we’re the stars of Disney’s new series PB&J Otter, Saturdays and Sundays at 8:30/7:30c on Disney
wow never knew about dis Doug promo man good ol days back when Nickelodeon's logo was something 2 look at Nicktoons were really popular never had 2 stream them or anything like most do today just had 2 tune in and look up a Tv Guide yup kids these days think they have it so hard phhhhh try being a 90's dude.
This must've been recorded early in the show's run, before it was even ordered to series, because Billy West is using the more nasally Doug voice first heard in "Doug Can't Dance".
That's why I don't. But regarding the tween mass, the trend of singing and dancing is apparent. Whatever is "sort of" popular among kid's shows, ALL the shows start to take that trend. It's just culture. :P
Too bad a clean version of the opening theme doesn't exist. By "clean version", I mean without Stinky meowing , Skeeter moaning, and other sound effects.
it does exist, without any of the sound effects on music from Doug, a rare 1994 cd, other than the fact that it fades from another song called soweto guitar, it's the cleanest version i know of. ruclips.net/video/mgT1Me7h6m0/видео.html
I know that Rugrats & The Ren & Stimpy Show & Rocko’s Modern Life & Aaahh!!! Real Monsters & Hay Arnold & The Angry Beavers & CatDog & SpongeBob SquarePants are from Nickelodeon, but Doug, I think in the future, is from Walt Disney, but not Nickelodeon, Why?, Because in February 1996, Walt Disney Company Purchased Jumbo Pictures. 😔
I used to love the fact that not only was Doug left-handed, but they even went out of their way to point it out. I wonder how many other left-handed kids back then appreciated it as well?
Doug Himself Pointed Out This Fact Numerous Times
Think Doug would love to work at the Leftorium in Springfield?
I appreciated it, but not from this, but from the season one baseball episode where Patti points out that he's left-handed before swinging the bat.
I'm left handed too
Me too, I loved the show as a kid.
I imitated Roger Klotz when I was little and I wasn't allowed to watch Doug for a while.
Better Roger Klotz than Beavis and/or Butthead!
"Nickel-Ow-OWWWWOdeon!"
XD Hahahaha
I loved watching Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Clarissa Explains it All along with Doug when I got home from elementary school in 97-98.
joker Clarissa was another great show. The fact that Sam had to climb a ladder to get to Clarissa’s room and talk to her is what I miss. Now all that suffices is a text. The human element is gone and I miss it so much.
Almost blew up the science lab with a homemade working volcano?!
And Doug still believes everything Roger tells him!?
I even question Doug’s mentality, heck this kid daydreams ALOT!
@@TechnoHajikelist In his defense, he is 11 and a half in the series, and lots of kids his age do daydream constantly.
I remember that show when I was little! I loved that show!
This is still my favorite Nicktoon, with Rocko's Modern Life coming in at second.
Mine Too. WAY better then Disney's Doug
Havent seen this promo in years. Doug sounds funny since i've been watching Futurama this whole time.
The first episode was August 11, 1991.
A great year.
Yeah! Sad that August 11 is now also the day Robin Williams passed away. :(
and the year that dr seuss passed away
5 days before my 1st birthday. 🤭
And the same Year that both Rugrats and Ren & Stimpy premiered too.
I'm biased: that's the year I was born. :P
Holy crap...91', this takes me back!
Me too!
I love this Doug Funnie, i watch episodes in Brazil in TV Cultura, great series. I hate this Roger Klotz is stupid and idiot
Back when nick was dope
When Nickelodeon cared about what children wanted to watch and not what they could force-feed down the tween mass's throats.

Nikelodeon, no contest.
Nickelodeon because it’s way more better than Disney
@Mr. Obama Jr. Well if you like the Disney version, then I respect your opinion.
sounds like steve - american dad :)
hey arnold is the best show ever!!!
Doug Funnie Look Like Fido Dido from 7UP!! 😆
Do you think, they’ll be crossover Cartoons: Supernoobs vs. Doug (TV Series)
You know when you think about it Doug sounds a lot like Pee-Wee Herman.
nuke97 he does just with a lower pitch
10/9 central?? why did it come on so late??

Brian was too common, so it was changed to Doug
